Hi, a great non-technical review! Great pictures and a great atmosphere. I own a 50+ year old Leica Elmar 50mm f2.8 collaplable, and use it very, very rarely because I always feel like I can only use it from f5.6. Instead, I take the Summicron 50 with me on my excursions. I really must try the Eureka lens! Please keep up the good work.
Love the mechanics of the lens and your shots with it! If I was in the market for a manual fast 50 I’d totally get one - just the looks alone gets me 90% of the way there; shame about the click less aperture too
Your videos are splashes of joy. If I were dog my tail would wag furiously every time you post a new one! Love the new Leica. Love the colors. Love the videos. Love the music. Love the editing. Love that EVERY ONE IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT!! How do you do that? Where do you find the time? You have special powers. Is the 262 replacing your M8? : - )
Another great video thanks Ali - and you last one on the Panasonic L1 was great as well. Cheers. I hold you responsible though for sending me down a camera rabbit hole where I'm now testing the Fuji S5 Pro and Oly E-300 jpegs out for my own use. (Particularly the E-300; whose raw files intrigue me more than I feel they should) Anyway, your videos continue to inspire both with their content and flair; hope you're having fun!
Any lens recomentations for the E-300? My Father send me one last month, i don't know why, but he was the opinion i have to use it, without objection. I shoot mostly at nightime with my a7sIII... wonder what the old Olympus will bring to the table.
Great video about your experience with this lens Ali! For me that declicked apature ring is unfortunately a no go unfortunately. Currently looking at the Voigtländer Color Skopar 50mm 2.2 - seems to be a great lens regarding price, size and weight. Would love to see an upcoming video about your M262!! :) Do you still have your M8?
Thypoch seem interesting. Somewhere between the 7artisans and TTartisans of the world and the Voigtlanders and Leicas of the world. Beautiful shots and stunning edits with the colours, Ali! BTW what was the vlog shot with? It looks amazing. Looks very stable so I'm leaning towards the DJI pocket 3 but also looks better the the usual images I've seen off it.
Thank you! This was in fact shot with the Pocket 3. I think it is just the best camera for this sort of thing and love it for its portability and ease of use.
I haven't shot the A6000 but I did try the A6500 and it was great. I just wished for more controls on the body but the images were nothing you could find fault with.
Rather interesting lens but at that price for a manual focus 50mm I'd look elsewhere. If I'm looking for a quirky MF lens there's no way I'm spending that kind of $$.
That's fair. Though given its design and performance comparative to a Leica Summicron, one could argue it is quite a reasonable value as I think it stacks up quite well in terms of quality and rendering.
@@OneMonthTwoCameras I suppose if you factor in the Leica tax then it's less onerous. I mean I wouldn't put this is the same class as a Summicron but I guess that's the market this is aimed at.
