On my 1st visit in Feb 2007 it was very rewarding 70+ baht to the pound and a bottle of beer equated back to about almost 65p! In the following years it dropped and remained about 55-58 baht for about 4-5 years. But yes it's great to see it on the increase once again.
@@manosparavida3551 Same - came to Thailand 2005 when it was 70+ to teach English, bought my condo in Jomtien end 2007 when it was 70 to the £ & the UK market had peaked. Sold the condo in 2021 & cleared a nice profit on the exchange & had had benefit of rents along the way.
Awesome! these videos mean i could have a sim card in my phone walking around pattaya and watch live on youtube as im walking where to go. Fantastic work trev. Trevs gonna be shopping one day and hear me playing one of his video's as im figureing out what to do lol😂
I see your Pommie bias is showing Trev 😝- you walked straight past the Australian Bar and Inn without mentioning it. As an Aussie, I can say it is the main reason I am familiar with 13/2. I have been there many times and the owner, Mark, is a genuinely good bloke. It's also a great place to watch Aussie sports 😁
Hi trev, i found your channel a couple of months ago when i decided i wanted to visit pattaya, ive watched dozens of your videos since, i appreciate all the advice you give to people considering a holiday there, hopefully you will see me early next year, February or March, I'll pop into the lounge and have a few jars with you and the girls Edit: tights hang down
Hi Trev interesting video. I've stayed at the Royal Palace Hotel many many times. Great hotel and a good price. £32 for a standard room. Great pool and staff. Very quiet at night. The Ibiza GC is OK, but not many farangs as customers. Mostly Koreans .
Great video. I've been to Pattaya twice this year and hoping to come back in September. I'm ex Royal Navy and didn't know about the Veterans Bar, so next time I'll pop in for a beer. I first came to Pattaya 8 years ago and stayed in Avani hotel which was actually a Marriott hotel back then. Beautiful place. I now stay at Thai Garden Resort in Na Kluea, opposite Terminal 21. That's a beautiful hotel, with a 50M swimming pool and lovely food.
Last time I was in that area was to go to the post office. I totally understand about not filming at night. I, too have a GoPro but don't take it out at night. You can see 90% of the girls hate being filmed & a lot of patrons also hate it including myself. It's called respect for others. In addition: When people holiday in Thailand, it is best to check your travel insurance before renting a bike. My last trip to Hua Hin, I was going to rent a 300cc scooter instead of the 150cc so I could travel longer distances at higher speeds however on checking my insurance the coverage was only for a 250cc max. Bottom line is that if you end up in hospital, you may end up with a very nasty bill. Cheers
Soi 13/1 aka Soi Yamato. Soi 13/2 aka Soi Post Office. My first trip to Pattaya was in 1993, stayed in a place called The Porn Hotel in Soi Yamato which was next to the Wonderful Bar. 250B a night, no TV, no Aircon with a Bed and a Wardrobe ( a wood rail ) and Bog/Sink, it was like doing a 28 Day stint as a SUS in the Battalion Guardroom 😂 37B to the £ and using the old Travellers Cheques. There was an International Telephone Service in Soi Post Office, so when you rang home it was done by the minute with a Stopwatch, with a very camp fella who stroked your hand when passing payment over 🤣🤣🤣 Some crazy bars in these two Soi’s back in the day, including Hot n Cold and the Pump Station just for starters…….proper full on!! Girls 500B for long time too, and they’d proper look after you too. For a British Army Infantryman aged 22/23 at the time and after doing a tour of Ulster for 6 Months, I gave some of the girls the best 23 Seconds ( including getting bagged up ) of their lives. I had a Ballbag like an Elephant arriving and a Ballbag like a Stoats Ear departing 🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely gleaming times. Take Care Trevor, if I don’t meet you this Winter and the bed breaks then I’ll see you in the Spring…….. I’ll get my Coat 🤣🤣🤣
What a great story, funny as ever. I was there around 1994 and went to TQ Bar (Tahitian Queen) and they had photo on toilet wall of original TQ girls😅 I've got a copy. So funny. The good old days eh mate.😊
Ur vodies r very enjoyable I have been in Pattaya 3times & I spent all day getting a tanned time I will be doing what ur doing walk around it more I seen some of it at night time 😊😊😊
Hi Masala Twist is my favorite..I love king prawn pathia but nowhere in Pattaya do any of the Indian restaurants do it...they should and call their restaurant Pattaya Pathia! just a thoght..love your vids stay safe n all the best from sunny isaan
I have walked past the building with the stalactites and stalagmites several times and wondered what it was. That would have made an awesome club to spend an evening in - when did it close? Also, there are a lot of good Indian restaurants in the area south of South Rd.
Great walkaround, Trev. I'll keep on saying that these are my favorite. I hope that weed won't be re-listed as a narcotic. Not because i like it, i actually really dislike the smell of that stuff, but it is a livelihood for a lot of people.
coming from someone that holidays in Pattaya a lot the last thing i want is some vlogger filming down the soi`s its annoying to say the least so to do it during the day is a good idea
Ive got a good one about unexpected things occuring on Thai Roads. Was travelling at night from the Kik bar top of Khao Talo down the back road to Jaybees bar, very few street lights when i saw 2 lights coming towards me, thinking it was a truck or something large coming towards i pulled to the side but a few seconds later i could make out it was 2 motorbikes driven by Thais with a large black leather Sofa behind them spanning the gap between them! Always expect the unexpected 😂😂
I had crap tattoos from 30 years ago. So I got them covered up with new tattoos in Pattaya. They look so much better now, and it’s cheaper doing it that way than getting them removed.
Your explanation bests Mr. Teacher dude a few lines up 😺 Clear and unemotional. I learned that the mneumonic "tight" can indicate the ceiling spikes have to hold on "tight" to not fall down... Wish I could have seen that bar in its hey day.
Hey dude, I love your videos man! I have a question and this goes out to all the Chat. I'm thinking about visiting Pattaya. Is it safe to leave your Passport in the hotel safe? I'm so paranoid about where I leave my Passport. I used to keep it on a money belt, under my trousers, when I travelled India and America. But it would be nice to have a swim. Maybe this is a stupid question? But while me and my friends were in Delhi, India....they all had their stuff stolen from the hotel room we were staying in.
Hi Trev, thank you for all your informative videos. I have a question about taxi. I see a lot of similar taxi cars, red, blue and green and all with yellow top/roof. Are they different companies? Thanks!
Hi Trev. Talking about football I'd like to watch Pattaya Utd if they're playing home when I'm out there. How far from cental Pattaya is Nong Prue Stadium and is it easy to get to by bus / taxi?
Years ago I stayed on soi3i was looking forward to going back to the hotel but when u walked down it the hotel was gone it has changed a lot I cam back home &to years later I had a big stroke I still can’t walk with out a cast &sticei lost my left side I am watching for stem cells treatment then I will sell up &move to thiland I still wake up &c if anything has started sgingi was taking to others and it happened to them😊 so hers wishes 😊😊
Micky Mouse tattoo... on the neck.... you say FairPlay I guess that's UK English for American WTF.. lol. I know to each his/her own. Thanks for doing the walk arounds.. I walk these streets daily but always have questions. Thanks as always.
I’ve never been in Thailand long enough to want to get Indian food. 3 weeks is my longest trip so far and I eat Thai everyday. Maybe when I’m retired out there!
10-12 years ago, I could spend all night on sois 13/1 & 2. Great vibe, lots going on, top quality entertainment. A steady decline, and then C19 compounded things. Verrrrrry slow recovery. My prediction: with the change in demographic on Walking Street, many Western/Aussie farangs are being displaced. Smart money might invest in sois 13/1 & 2. I'm not saying I'd want to see them become the new Soi 6, but perhaps rent/rates are cheaper than Sois 7&8, making the area a better bar investment option? Just look how Chaiyapoon has changed in less-than 10 years... I'd give it a go, but a Soyboo Cow bar on 13 might be a bit confusing for tanked up farangs🤣
I tried joining your discord. I have never used discord. Downloaded the app. Discord is too confusing. I have no idea how to find your channel. I am coming to pattaya for the first time. It would be nice to talk tk people on discord and ask questions. Unfortunately discord does not work for me. It is not user friendly.
We have over 20,000 members in the chat room so it can't be that difficult to use, maybe get someone to help you if your struggling. discord.com/invite/zd22xQXe
@@Buzzinpattaya it sure has change a lot since we last been but it changing for the better the beach front looks 1000 times better your videos keep me going till we get there
Walking Street is not what it used to be … last time didn’t even bother going back…. Chinese or India clients now and I’m perfectly fine with that … we will head to our preferred places I see it as an absolute win win
Always laugh to myself when I see soi 13/2. That's where I saw the elephant trapped in the a go go door when they tried to take it inside. They went to the shop and got lots of butter and bottles of oil abd rubbed it all over and it got out. Another Normal day in pattaya 555
Personally I don't enjoy the new look of Pattaya. I preferred the dusty meandering path that used to run through the treeline alongside the beach, which got paved in about 2010-2011ish. But you can't call it a resort to attract tourists in their hordes, unless it's got acres of block paving alongside the beach. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic? I also don't enjoy the glitzy, neon areas of Tree Town and Myth Night. I much prefer the large collection of bars that were once where central festival mall now is. They were similar to the collection of bars in Soi Diana, but a lot larger.
@@roywatson8133 I'm glad I'm not alone with my thinking. I recall when Soi 7&8, Beach Rd and a far less costly version of Walking Street were just about the only great social areas, besides the bars I've spoken of. I know of blokes that worked on The QE2 and went there in 1985 and claimed the only drinking areas were a few bars along Beach Rd and Walking Street.
England have some of the best players in the tournament, but they look terrible in every game. I blame the manager. For the life of me I can't tell plan is. Everyone looks uncomfortable and confused.
I don't really eat burgers, but burger king would be the one. The KFC in my town is closed atm as a rat was videoed running around in the shop whilst it was closed, I won't ever been returning to that place 🐀
Bodega bar is a nice hangout spot, and the dispensary next door is 5 star. I personally hate McDonalds I think the food is the worst fast food has to offer. Coffee is only thing I buy there. I don't think Burger King is much better. Does Thailand have Carls Jr? That is a good fast food burger along with In And Out Burger and Popeyes Chicken is the best chicken sandwich by far.
don't do night time videos Trev respect peoples privacy rather than attracting members who just want cheap thrill clickbait content respectful and class way to go
Good Indian Recommendation?.... "Curry Home " 312/81 Soi Buakhao next door to Cheap Charlie in Pattaya ....Funny name but food is great ...Daily specials around 250 THB....Must try their "Lamb Biryani" ...big size a meal on its own. Dale (Perth Australia)
@@Buzzinpattaya pretty certain it was him sitting at the beach. Looks like he is back. Plenty of videos. You could do one of your interviews with him haha
Im coming pattaya in 3weeks time. I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo. I want it in colour. Where is a good tattoo place in pattaya where do you recommend trev? And how much thanks
The guys at nighttime seem like stalkers hiding their cameras and spying on the people for views..... like the channels where the girls and people know they are getting filmed and are ok with it. If you are filming the people you are with ok, if you're perving on everyone about you and hiding the camera not ok.
