When will the partial solar eclipse pass over Arkansas and Oklahoma this weekend?

An annular eclipse, or ring of fire, will pass over the western and southern USA this Saturday (October 14, 2023). Areas outside the main path will get a partial eclipse around 11:20AM to 12PM central time.

Weird sun usually comes from east to west but that line is going west to southeast

The shadow pivots from the moon from west to east as the sun travels from the east.

The path of the sun isn't what's displayed its the moons shadow on the Earth which the Moon does move from West to East in the sky just very slowly that the Earths rotation makes it move east to west when you see it over the period of one day but over multiple days it's position at the same time each day will be slightly more to the west.

How cool is that? We're in the Florida panhandle and should be close to 75% totality. I still have our eclipse glasses from 2017, yay!

Love how he broke it down. We got 75% coverage and got the crescent moon look. I even got pics thru the glasses on my phone. So cool.

In Texas it started as a small crescent then as it passed thru it became a thicker crescent 🌙
