It takes much longer. A week after surgery and I can’t see hardly anything. Doc told me my vision would be blurry but never said how blurry lol. It’s actually horrible. During recovery my vision got worse then when I had glasses. But thank God it improves. If u get prk and you’re the sole provider in your family, plan on being useless for at least 2 weeks.
@@bsolo505 no problem, my vision is soooo much better now I can actually see better then 20/20. I’m at about a 20/15. I’m just waiting for the sharpness to get a bit better. The doc just looked at my eyes yesterday and said the sharpness will deff get better. I just have a new issue that I’m dealing with and the pressure in my eyes now is too high from the Steroid drops. I got added 2 other drops to drop the pressure down. Hopefully it gets better bc it’s making me nervous. Make sure you follow your eye drops to a T. I know it’s hard for you right now but your eyes will get better I promise. 👍 Good luck!
It’s essential to understand that PRK recovery takes time. Your vision might be blurry initially, and stabilising can take a few days to several weeks. Be patient and allow your eyes to heal. Adequate rest and sleep are crucial to your recovery, so ensure you’re getting enough of both. Your surgeon will provide you with specific post-operative care instructions. These instructions are designed to help your eyes heal properly and minimise complications. Following them diligently is crucial for a smooth recovery. This may include using prescribed eye drops and avoiding rubbing your eyes.
During the initial recovery period, your eyes will be more sensitive to light and environmental factors. Wear protective sunglasses outdoors to shield your eyes from harmful UV rays and bright light.
Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your experience after your recent laser eye surgery. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing some differences between your left and right eye. We'd like to assure you that this is a normal part of the healing process. After laser eye surgery, it's common for vision to fluctuate as your eyes adjust to their new state. As a result, one eye may heal faster than the other, causing temporary differences in clarity and focus. These fluctuations typically resolve within a few weeks, but it's important to be patient and follow any post-operative care instructions provided by your surgeon. If you have any concerns or questions about your recovery, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to support you throughout your journey to better vision.
It's been 26 days since I have done PRK . now i have your issue , please could you inform me that your vision is healed ? I'm worry about mine , my left eyes vision is so bad
A year out from it and it ruined my life. It was the worst decision I ever made. I have so many vision issues now that can’t be fixed. I’m suicidal because of it. This man is a monster for promoting such a horrible procedure.
4 days post PRK. It's like I've been swimming in a highly chlorinated swimming pool. Cloudy. Still really blurry. Get my contact bandage out tomorrow. Hopefully it starts polishing up soon
@jiji ♡ Left eye gets better everyday but my right eye is on the struggle bus - lol Still blurry in that eye. Epithelium is rough according to the Dr. It'll be a month tomorrow I go back for another follow up in a couple weeks.
We're sorry you're experiencing difficulty post-op. It sounds like this is very early in your recovery still and it is very normal to have some visual fluctuations post-surgery. Your vision should settle in a few weeks. If you have any further problems, please feel free to contact us.
@@DAMERenukaprasadc I'm at the 2 month mark (right eye is still blurry but testing 20/25) They're still fluctuating. Patience is the game I guess. If my right was as good as the left, I'd be a happy camper
4 - 6 weeks until this blurriness and double vision goes away? I can't see clearly close or far. This is a disaster 😢 I work as a teacher and this is really a disaster 😭
@florencetown4024 That sucks! I am an IB math teacher who had to prepare my seniors for their external exams. Before the surgery I was told the recovery wil be 1-2 weeks. Upon my week's checkup, I was told it may take up to 3 months for my vision to "settle". Just beautiful.
I feel the same. I am a teacher also. It's been almost 5 weeks since PRK and not only am I still blurry, but I somehow got recurrent erosion of the cornea! So I have no idea what to expect. 😢
Hello Other Way, we are sorry you experiencing blurred vision on your recovery. This is normal to have vision fluctuations a few weeks after surgery. Your vision should stabilise soon. If you your symptoms persist or have any other concerns, please do contact us.
Hey same problem ..my right eye is 90% better it's been 5 days ...but my left eye both near and far away are still blurry 😅not sure did i moved my eyes during laser ..
@@kyf6705 hi new update ...both eyes are doing good in morning and after noon ..but by evening i am seeing stars around street lights , individually right eye is better in night with only star clear stars ..but 😅 left eye even has glares ..what is ur experience in this
3 weeks after transPRK. It is a little bit different day to day. I think vision is 20/25 20/30. The main issue is ghosting. Far away big objects no problem. But close by and small objects are not sharp and difficult to read. I am not worried yes because it is just week 3 but I do hope it will get better. Funny thing is that I had a lot of problems with starburst before surgery but that is completely gone. Also halo's are almost non excisting anymore.
@@FakhraAli-ms5dd I am not sure how far you are in the healing process but just after my comment in week 4 my vision improved big time. Only after long days after the computer I have a lot of ghosting but only if I have a stressfull day. It is really weird how that went. At this point I can say almost for sure that vision is 98%.
Over the next two to three days, your vision may remain hazy and blurry as part of the healing process. By about a week after the surgery, you can expect to have achieved approximately 80% of the vision recovery. However, it may take six to eight weeks for your vision to stabilize fully, giving you the clear and crisp vision you desired from the PRK procedure.
I had PRK 10 days ago and I still can't see clearly everything is distorted close or far. Can anyone with personal experience share when did they start to see clearly?
@@tonydawg Left eye is still blurry, maybe more than it was those 6 days back. Right one is way better and almost at the point when i wore contact lens.

We're sorry to hear that you're still experiencing haze three months after your laser eye surgery. While it's common to experience some haziness or fluctuations in vision during the initial healing period, these issues usually resolve within a few weeks. In some cases, however, patients may experience longer-lasting haze or other visual issues. This can be due to a variety of factors, such as pre-existing eye conditions or complications during the surgery. We recommend that you schedule a follow-up appointment with your surgeon to have your eyes evaluated and discuss any ongoing issues you may be experiencing. They can provide you with a more personalised assessment and recommend any further treatments or adjustments that may be necessary to help improve your vision. Thank you for choosing our clinic for your laser eye surgery, and please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.
I had prk 2 months back and my right eye is super blurry and machine reading shows some -1.5 power. I’m worried and my doctor told me it might be because of muscle strain or something…recommended me to do eye pushups…did anyone experience this kind of problem, is there a possibility of clear vision?
@@IpostIos it’s still the same…I know it can be scary…the second month was the most stressful and kind of depressing for me since there’s no improvement. But I realised worrying about something we can’t control is only gonna spoil our mental health. It’s better to talk with your doctor to know the cause. In my case they’re saying all we can do is wait until 6 months to come to any conclusion. Btw what was your power before surgery?
@@AlekhyaCreates my power was -6 both and I used to use contact lenses for long time so it was common in my life to get infection from it and eyes used to become red and scary so I decided to do prk surgery and it's day 30 today only I went to hospital doctor said wait 15-20 it will improve but I am toooooooo scary because my age is only 20
@@IpostIos your age and power is almost similar to mine…I genuinely hope it’s taking longer for us because of high power…my right is mostly okay…what about you? Are your both eyes blurry or one is better?
@@AlekhyaCreates from one eye I can see little better but with left eye I can't see even my phone it's blurry than before surgery , hope we will recover soon , where r u from ?
Its been 1.5 moths after my trans prk surgery. I'm doing all my day to day activities easily but the problem im facing is difficult reading because the words seems to me like a bit shaky or smudgy .is it normal? Will it improve more with the time ? It is called haze ?.
Ok these comments are reassuring. I’m 5 days in and I still have the bandage contacts in and everything is still blurry. Doctor was kind of surprised when I told him I 100% couldn’t drive atm.
@@Callofbooty101 I’m at almost 2 months. Vision has definitely improved a lot. I believe my doc said I was 20/30 at my one month. Fingers crossed they keep improving
