Yeah, its tough when you dont make a lot in this career. I usually didnt care, i would buy tools for people all the time, theyre super cheap...

With the cost of tools as high as it is,I'm good with replacing the broken piece. Don't need to tell someone what to buy. That being said you break my tool twice or borrow it to much I'm gonna say no next time you ask.

Yeah. Kinda stinky. At least the fed has laws where if someone has to provide their own tools they get a higher minimum wage. I will say though, when tools are used by people they don't belong to they end up pretty badly abused and nobody takes responsibility for making sure they're made right

@@ericeck I'm not that involved when it comes to mechanics specifically (maybe that industry is just awful), but at least where I live in other service professions like electricians you often have a business account and get to order the tools you need. Usually it's preferred to stay with a set few number of manufacturers, for my friend who is one it means fein, wiha and fluke. So good stuff, and if he needs something not from them it's not much of an issue. Tools is how you make money, having someone work with shit tools costs more than just giving them good tools.

Top techs in the automotive field make good money, but it's probably only the top 10% making north of 80k us per year. I know of a tech that made 216k last year, so there's a lot of variation in pay.

@@RogueWrenching if found that where I work (Deere dealer) if you want to make a lot of money you're going to spend every waking hour here. The rewards for going above and beyond are pretty good, but if someone wants that just do the job and leave it won't be great

The comparison is with a blue power socket both are Taiwanese made I'd propose that the Cornwell is better but it's not like a Chinese HF socket to an American made Snap On. It's a step up yes, but not a big one.

@@RogueWrenching That’s somewhat unfair of a comparison to label Cromwell as made in Taiwan. Some of their tools are but a Cromwell impact socket stamped “Made in Ohio” or any other tool for that matter is high quality.

1:35 You don’t say anything about “Blue Point” you said Cornwell. That’s why I pointed out to you “Made in Ohio” you don’t seem to understand the difference and lump all the tools together. Don’t take my word for it ask the Cornwell dealer.
