Deadlock is not gonna be as easy to understand as CS. I mean CS really is so basic it has movement, shooting and grenades that is basically it. And it is very easy to understand that shooting some without dying is a good play. With Deadlock you have to understand those basic concepts of a moba and the heroes and items. You don't have to know them completely but it is certainly not as easy to understand as CS but it certainly is more entertaining than dota cause of those qol things like sideshops, the money and xp being the same basically, the rail system that make the game more centered around player vs player than player vs the map.

Feels like Deadlock is spectator friendly... if you can understand the overall layout of a moba with towers, ancient, two different teams etc. That part isn't immediately apparent to an outside observer watching a lot of flash on screen for 10 seconds. The thing it has going for it with a shooter crowd is the may not know exactly what's going on, but it does look fun to play and is pretty intuitive. And man the rails system being travel but also dumping people in predetermined lanes, everyone having their own sideshop to defend, the orbs confirm/deny system... they feel like these awesome design considerations that evolve the genre. I love dota, but Deadlock is really fun to play too. The frog has been cooking. I think this has some mass appeal if they actually do some amount of marketing with it.
