My little sister does that with my mom. She asks my mom to come pat her back in the bed and when she leaves for just a few minutes to go to the bathroom or take a shower or see what my dad got from the store when he comes home from work and she freaks out. Then when my mom thinks she’s asleep, she’ll leave and it’ll only take a few seconds for my little sister to call her back into the room and it’ll take half an hour to an hour and a half for her to fall asleep.
