I took my nephew to this game. This was his senior year in high school. That is him in the baby blue shirt behind the guy in the red shirt. My nephew ended up being the Section Leader for Southern's drum line for the 2020 season.
I'll give it to them: This is probably the best way to march in a parade. And I actually think that the simplicity of Southern's Drumline's material fits perfectly in this scenario.
Uh, no! In parades they MARCH 10 ACROSS. It's INCREDIBLE to see even in video. Check out Mardi Gras or Krewe or St. Patricks Day Paradea - all in New Orleans...I think.
They are marching in to a stadium where the football team will be playing. The band is over 200 so it talks 10- to 15-minutes for them all to get in. Look up the 2015 UGA game. There is a clear video of them marchin & others of them marching out. All the drummers do a 2- to 3-minute show after all the band members have gone by.
I gave Doc 4 extra zillians back in 83 from Atlanta to go with his 4 pair and he thought i was tripping . " Ain't 8 cymbals gonna be too much he said. " Now it's the standard around the HBCUs. Most march with 12
