I called Roman mid, and I still do. Roman turning heel never fixed anything because his only problem was overexposure. Cue WWE fixing the wrong problem and making the real problem worse by giving him a record-breaking reign. Roman being pushed for a decade instead of rotating who's on top, IMO, is why AEW exists. I don't watch either, but knowing Roman now tied Hulk Hogan in Wrestlemania Main Event appearances tells me WWE learned nothing.

For example you’re less likely to care or react to your average fan praising a wrestler on Twitter, you see it all the time. The only hate you see for Cody is 10% from the chronically online IWC marks. The other 90% is the normal audience and they all love Cody. He's incredibly over. No one else should've dethroned Roman, Cody has hard shoes to fill and he's doing it great so far, especially considering being a baby face is harder than a heel. Roman is one of the best champions of all time, so it'll be difficult, and even if he doesn't have as good of a reign as Roman, Cody will STILL have a great reign and this early start has been nice. For a change, he wrestles at every PLE, he shows up a lot, he's full time. On top of that, he's got some killer feuds in the future to look forward to. Randy Orton, The Rock, maybe even CM Punk sometime. So much to look forward to. He's an amazing wrestler and a great in ring story teller, which is what you NEED as the top champion. People just complain about everything online. I recommend to everyone just cause you're online, it doesn't mean the entirety of people think the same. Lol. Cody Rhodes is a top tier wrestler. Him dethroning Roman was perfect. One of the best, if not, THE best WM main event ever. So cinematic. W Cody Rhodes. 🔥
Very good comment. Cody has everything it takes to be a top champion and top star in the WWE. He has great in-ring skills, great mic-skills, great passion, great story-teller, amazing theme song, awesome entrance, he has charisma, he is talented, kids and adults both love him and he has the connection to the audience and he is a top merch-seller and very over with the crowd. What else does Cody need? He's been doing a very good job as the champion so far.
I still appreciate Cody as the champion. Even after finishing his story, he’s giving his challengers a chance to tell their stories through their matches. These “fans” didn’t even give Cody a chance.

This is the consequences of an emotional decision instead of logic. Cody's stuck his nose in a story he didn't belong in and that's the blood line story. Now he is going to suffer the consequence, his reign is going to suck and it is since he won the title.

Cody was better as a midcard/jobber. His words as "Dashing" and "Undashing" Cody Rhodes was phenomenal and entertaining. His work as stardust also shows how cody is very adaptive to different roles. Right now, the american nightmare gimmick is boring. Its like the cena gimmick with a bleached hair.
You do realize that your statement is shared with roughly 10-15% of the overall fan base agree with you. And full disclosure roughly about 13.5% of that percentage are either “turn him heel” people that won’t like a single person unless they are a heel or you have the spot monkeys that don’t think it good wrestling unless the match is nothing but high spots( Aka AEW tards). Just look at AEW for an example of what happens if people like yourself ran a wrestling company.

I don't think that Cody Rhode's title reign has been bad. As a character I think that he is doing what is expected and he still has a good connection with the audience. I think that on the whole, people still care about him. I think that the issue is more that he doesn't have an overarching story arc/theme to follow his title reign like Roman Reigns did. Moreover the competition for the WWE championship is thinner on Smackdown compared to Raw so the problem isn't really Cody as such but more the environment around him that he has at his disposal to function as champion. If Cody had Gunther, Rollins, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Bron Brekker, Damien Priest, Finn Balor in addition to AJ Styles (who he shouldn't have wrestled twice), Bobby Lashley (who they should have kept), Logan Paul (who I don't think should have had a WWE title shot), Solo Sikoa (which makes sense), Kevin Owens (which needs a better story than what is happening right now), Randy Orton (who he should be feuding with right now) then I don't think that people would be complaining about Cody Rhodes' reign. He wouldn't have to change a thing and people would be satisfied with his reign until Wrestlemania.
He’s definitely not, separate “finish the story” and Cody Rhodes, he’s fallen out of the top 10 in merch sales. Before his current feud with solo he was second in smackdown segment ratings almost every week. Jey, punk, and jacob fatu are far more over than Cody. They have to write him differently, even in his promos he looks unenthusiastic.

It also doesn't help that Roman Reigns destroyed any potential threats to Cody. Since Cody now has all the weight of those slayed by Roman on his back. If he is beaten by someone defeated by Roman Cody is going to look like a chump. "Roman beat that guy but Cody couldn't what a buffon!" WWE needs to make new Superstars. It also doesn't help that Cody is not allowed to cut his promos properly.

Cody’s champion run so far been boring. Wwe needs bigger star to challenge Cody for his title like the rock or Roman. Roman was greatest champion of all time and he was champion for 4 years I hope he regained his title from Cody become champion longer as a baby face for Roman.
The fans once turned on Bray Wyatt, Kofi Kingston, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and now Cody Rhodes. Not surprised. And yeah, the fact that the fans now want Roman to have that title again is so unintentionally hilarious because after a year or so during his reign, they couldn't stand Roman carrying around those belts.
The chase is always better than the actual payoff. People want to root for an underdog. After a 2 year chase from WM38 to WM40, with a huge swerve at WM39, Cody had his moment and finished the story. It is going to get stale if he continues to be the white meat babyface who is now the guy, while still pretending to be a humble underdog. Now they can either go one of two ways. If you want to keep Cody face, this has to be a relatively short title reign ending either at SummerSlam or latest Royal Rumble where he loses to The Rock (no more of this where major titles can ONLY change hand at WrestleMania) who is then challenged by a returning Roman. Or, the more likely scenario, they turn him into a mob boss heel type character who creates his own Legacy stable with other second generation guys like Bron Breaker watching his back, and eventually moves into a feud with Randy Orton.

This was WWE (Vince)'s fault for keeping Roman champion another year when he it did really nothing for him. If Cody had won last year, there'd be no complaint. This because they made Roman champion so long that some have been disillusioned that Roman is "so dominant" but he was part time from 2023-2024. Hence, Cody, who won another rumble makes people upset since he already lost and his credibility was lowered for round 2.
If cody won last year it would have got old real quick the reason why fans wanted cody to finish his story is because they wanted to see him get redemption from losing to roman at last years mania also having roman reigns keep the title also helped people like jey uso who is now the most over babyface in the company and also if you read the reports vince and hunter wanted cody to win at mania but roman and Paul shot it down because they thought it could help careers like the usos and solo sikoa which it has done
