You are so right. Other players shoot a lot of free-throws, and no one cares. I've seen people say Embiid is always gonna be trash as long as he plays for Philly. And all of the sudden a regular season MVP award is meaningless until you win in the playoffs. But Joker won MVP twice before winning a chip and they were fighting hard for him to win a third BEFORE they won the chip. It's Philly hate.

No, Embiid has had really good teams and just fails to show up in big games. Iverson made it to the finals. It’s something Joel needs to fix, coaching changes and different players have been in Philly. He has had the help, get the job done now.

It’s because he’s the only big man in the league that shoots over 85% from the line. In giannis’ 64 point game he had 32 free throws but couldn’t hit them so no one complained

I think Wilt once said "everyone hates the giant" or something to that effect. Even he was subjected to the same concentration on the flaws in his game rather that appreciate how the man could play. I don't think it gets to Embiid cause he is such a good natured guy but it really irks the fans.

Wilt also had to say that because how do you have that much talent and win 2 rings and basically get carried by Jerry west for the 2nd ring? It almost like it’s easy to defend your legacy with words than actions like actually playing team winning basketball in wilts case

Embid is the best player in the league at this point.. guy is averaging more points than minutes played and only Wilt has ever done that before.. Embid is basically unstoppable for the most part.. plus he has no proven superstar playing with him though Maxey is on the way to becoming one..

_"all Embiid receives is hate"_ He received an MVP last season. Chillax, yo. Until he wins a ring there will **always** be doubters, not necessarily "haters". Every legend has to go through frustration - Shaq got swept a bunch of times before he ever won it all.

And he would still do the same thing hes doing on the sixers. What people don’t understand is that you could put Joel on any team and he’s gonna be just as dominant. Jokic it’s weird because I really don’t believe he’d be much better than sabonis if he played on any other team.

I think the notorious "eagles fans" created a narrative around the people in Philadelphia in general giving all Philadelphia sports fans a bad reputation.

He shoots free throws because he gets fouled. If you don't foul him he's getting the bucket. He falls a lot to prevent injuries as staggering can put access strain on the lower body. No one complained when shaq shot free-throws because he missed them. No one cares about Luka, SGA or Giannis shooting free-throws. Why is Embiid shoot free-throws a problem?
