@@Abracadaniel95 no joke just a couple of days ago i was watching a show and had to stop because sudden realization hit that this year is 4 months away of being over, and i didn’t even notice how fast it flew by 💀
I used to have a snippet from "Every Hardcore Vocalist" as my FB cover for the longest time, how dare you remind me that this was 10 years ago.............
How turning thirty feels... Before covid, I was a young man with my twenties stretching out in front of me. Now I am a 31 year old irrelevant sack of meat. But we're still here.. Love you Jarrod, we're skating on to the next sunrise
It seems like just a short time ago that I stumbled across your first misheard lyrics. Ever since, I've gotten excited about every video and project you put out. I even unironically listen to your silly parody songs because they're just so well written and produced. Congrats on your success in both your professional(ish) and family lives, you've earned it.
But fr i thought that video, issues tissues, and the how to pronounce band names videos were posted just yesterday... i still watch them religiously because it's just too darn funny
I'm legit getting emotional. So many great memories following your work. I bought the MP3 of the OG version of Pop Punk Pizza Party the day it came out. Because of the Friendville video I can never take that Wonder Years vid seriously again. My brain still subconsciously pronounces "Volumes" to rhyme with "legumes". Looking forward to the new videos and celebrating the old school Alonge lore.
No way it’s been 10 years oml 😭😭 they were my favorite videos on the internet ahhh you were always one of my favorite youtubers and I seriously cannot wait for the new videos to come outt
We're gonna need another "Beating a Dead Horse" album!! I've been watching you since *before* the Every Vocalist videos when you were doing videos for your school projects when I was like 10 yrs old. 😂
Admist the grave demons from akron ohio. As someone who lives here that aesthetic and sound was literally 90% of local bands here haha. He captured it so well.
Bro your humor was the standard for my friend group in our junior/senior year of high school. Then I ended up connecting with more people through your jokes after high school and even took part in helping cover "Hey Jarrod, What's That Song Again" with some friends who had/have a metalcore band. Your videos helped encapsulate a part of my life I probably reminisce on too much. Can't wait to see what you have for us now that we're all a little older and wiser.
Being in my 30s, nostalgia is just pure pain at this point. I can't look back to a good memory without wanting to cry my eyes out. Sometimes i wish i could wipe out all those sweet memories in my brain. Getting older is not the problem. It's losing all those sweet moments in the ravage of time.
The funniest thing is, the songs might be dated, but they're still hilarious, and go absolutely hard. A lot of your old content sadly isn't here anymore, or properly archived sadly, but I still remember some of the Misheard Lyrics stuff very vividly. The Meshuggah bit absolutely slew me. I can't go back to listening to it again. A very pleasant surprise to see you're doing a few of your older style of video content, can't wait. Here's to another ten years! Or not. Which then, this gets rather awkward.
Man this has me feeling like I'm going absolutely crazy. I remember watching your videos at the start of my journey into alt music and now it's been 10 years. WTF. I still have a picture from when I met you at Warped Tour 2016-- crazy to think that that was seven years ago.
Sometimes I think back to the first time I listened to AILD or Oncoming Storm by Unearth. Then I realize that I've worked at my current employed (15 years) for about the same amount of time I was in K-through-college. In 5 more years, I'll have worked for the same company for 50% of my entire existence. These are the things I wake up in a cold sweat at night over.
I was just reminiscing on the old hardcore days after being removed from the scene for a while now and it's amazing to come back and see Jarrod having the same existential crisis I am.
