Punching Glove nullifies Urshifus ability Unseen Fist. Its ability has the power to bypass Protect and that is important. With Punching Glove, it does give a boost but its moves could no longer bypass Protect. Protective Pads just protects yourself from abilities like Rough Skin, Flame Body, etc. (Basically abilities that activate by contact)
