I tried hdzero for a bit but all my gear died so I'm back on analog. Staying away from Walksnail because the situation over there seems sketchy as well. Too many idiots in the kitchen! Call it like it really is!
Yeah that sucks. All my HDZERO whoop VTXes are dead now. 2 killed on the first flight after a hard "landing". Don't know what those are made of but glass is more sturdy IMO.
Walksnail on a 2s whoop is really really good. I fly analog, Hdzero, DJI and walksnail. Walksnail is really good. Just need to use common sense when plugging in or soldering.
I'll have to wait until the environment settles down. Way too many changes, way too fast. No wonder that guy fried his laptop. Dumb but honest mistake considering all the connectors out there.
I mainly fly DJI O3 these days. It just works and I haven't done any firmware updates in almost a year. Walksnail does a firmware update every week and they still can't make people happy.

A lot of mistakes in fpv is user error. I and many others have damaged so many flight controllers, Vtx, and receivers. All from not reading the instructions, rushing, making assumptions and doing my own thing. Lol. I don't waste my time watching/reading videos from people who don't acknowledge their error.
I'm soooo freakin glad you said what I have been thinking for awhile!!!! The problem is companies are listening to people that want everything to "their" liking lol its like there isn't an "FPV community" but rather an "FPV clique" 😂 when I got into fpv it was already brain melting now I can't even imagine how beginners are comprehending all the difference vtx versions I still can't lol what I would like to see is the prices of this hd stuff come down alot since there is no longer a "HD" monopoly 😁 same as when HD tvs came out ✌🏽

I have Avatar HD Kit V2 , Avatar HD Pro Kit Dual antenna, 1S V3 and Avatar HD Nano Kit V3 all of them have the same USB connector to the VTX board ALL. I do not have these problems. I guess this problem exist only if you own firs generation vtx's like 1S V1, Avatar HD

I agree, There is only two types of connectors used on the Avatar VTX's. The 1.0mm SH on the V1 series. And the 0.8mm used on all the V2 VTX's.. I think the confusion is caused by the them provided multiple adapter cables.
My 2 cents - connector issue: What's the the problem? Just pay attention and don't loose the cables - durability: do it like the Vista vtxs - my wish: all vtx should have black box/gyroflow, even the 1S
Can't wait for the flyfishrc frame review. Wow, that is a lot of connectors 😮. Frying a Laptop ouch, fill the plug with glue or just use the plug. That is a pricey mistake.

Well, to tell the truth, the only thing I've seen in their group about the connectors are complaints, Albert. Everyone asks for an USB C connector. For a long time already! They do seem to listen, but not about this, unfortunately. 😕 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

I don't understand why walksnail and hdzero haven't switched to usb-c yet. The continuous improvements are awesome but steadily changing the connectors, not so much.
I design miniature PCB boards in various products for a living and I can say that USB-C is simply huge and requires big footprint. Not your choice if size is ultimate goal.
I remember 3yrs ago when Caddx promised they were working on and going to release canvas mode for the vista. It never happened and seems like Caddx has not changed. They put things out, promise they are working on it and then move on to the next thing.
I think they were planning to do that but then their relationship with DJI went south and ultimately they abandoned that project because of their partnership break up with DJI.
@@marblekitfpv that promise was at least a year before they broke away from DJI. They said it was in the works and about to be released. We all know that was fake hype to sell more vistas. It was back when HDzero started and people complained how it had canvas mode
Al? You've pointed out the biggest issue with support vs positive iteration, mostly found with version control in software. But while slower to roll out, hardware version control can get tricky, too. It sucks.
The 4K camera will probably be under a media embargo in that specs, videos, etc can't be released until Caddx says it's OK. Standard marketing practice these days for online and social media reviews.

personally never really liked caddx, i always found they moved too fast, by the time i’d saved up to buy any of their products they’d already stopped producing them and moved to bigger projects, like some of their cameras or the caddx peanut. the only good thing i can say they have for sure is the ant, not the lite because i have 3 ant lites that absolutely suck, the normal version is alright, but even foxeer out performs that with the razer nano at only 3 bucks more .

Most of the reports and problems with WS are user errors. Nobody read the friking board that comes in the box. And the fact that WS did hear the comunity make the FB group full of whinies. Love WS, but her fans... meh.
Most of the people I see in FPV lack a lot in intelligence. It's not that they don't read the instructions, they are illiterate and aren't able to read. The FAA needs to lock these people down before a lot of people get hurt.
Caddx should pick some standards and stick to them regardless of what the next person says. I've seen them listen to the suggestions of people who just started FPV and that's just plain stupid.
Yup. The multiple data cables are stupid. It´s weird cose they make all the other products compatible and interchangeable. But the y did drop the ball there.@@marblekitfpv
