@@maniasoker Guilty as charged! (Not 80 yet, but old enough.) In retrospect my comment likely gives me away as a dinosaur, of sorts. I certainly realize that there have been a lot of great women doing great things in the world of jazz since the earliest roots, and I didn't mean to sound like I was unaware of that. Sadly, though, women instrumentalists have far too often not received the recognition and attention they deserve(d), historically speaking. I do note that it seems as though that things are slowly changing, and that more and more young women are choosing to pursue a life in the jazz world. I'm very happy to see them being encouraged to do so, and only intended to offer encouragement, as well. I regret if my tone or words suggested anything else. Honestly, I only wish I could play as well as her -- I've been at it for a lifetime, and I fear she eclipsed my meager abilities long ago!

@@timalmen6134This is very wholesome and I completely agree. I think someone could have interpreted your initial comment as putting more of the focus of the video on her being a woman as opposed to focusing on her being an insanely skilled and talented trumpet player, but your later writing seems to show you see that value as well. It’s refreshing as a 22 year old something to hear someone in your age group have the ability to be nuanced about women representation in jazz especially with instrumentalists.

What might you contemplate is the problem with dizzy Gillespie's embouchure? Embouchure schmembersher if you make the sound that is pleasing to the ear it doesn't matter what you look like when you make it.
