Yup! And kids age 4 and under. And adults with developmental disabilities. You don't pick them. They pick you and you're stuck with them adoring you, lol. I used to work in a group home. They wildest, most out-of-control young men would find a spot 8-10 feet away from me, sit down, and chill. I never did figure out how I managed it. I wish I knew so I could sell it and make some money, lol.

It serves you well and people like you should never own any dog. I guarantee you that you will have the same problems again with ANY DOG because everything that is wrong with a dog is intentionally wrong with THE HOLDER. It is YOUR dog, wich means YOU and no one else shaped his behaviour, yet here you are blaming only the dog without any sense of self reflection. So now you have tow options: 1. Seek help from a professional dog trainer. It still can work and the dogs behaviour can still be corrected no matter how bad you already messed this dog up. I don't think that will make much sense in your case because i can sense that you don't like your own dog and a dog can sense that too. 2. Give the dog to someone who is able and willing to handle him correctly. Bu whatever you do, do NOT throw your dog away like an item. Its a living being. And DON'T get another dog before you have learned how to train and handle a dog! I will give you an example: your dog is running after a squirrel and you punish him physically. Then your dog is AFRAID of you and wants to run away from you. But you interprete it as: he is not impressed at all and still wants to run and play. You have absolutely NO CLUE what you are doing. I don't even know what kind of dog it is but i can tell from your description alone that it is a HOUND. And believe it or not, its perfectly normal behaviour for hunting dogs TO HUNT! If you don't want such behaviour DO NOT GET A HUNTING BREED for gods sake! This is what these dog breeds were bred for. You are one of this peopel who chose his dog bred exclusively based on his look and now you are angry that a HOUND doesn't behave like a family dog. My bullshit-o-meter is in the red scale when i see people like you. YOU got a hound without the time and will to work with him. YOU punish the dog for a behaviour that is perfectly normal under this circumstances. YOU know that your dog is after squirrels and other animals yet still you use a dog leash wrapped around your arm - wich is by the way never a good idea. When a hound picks up a track, his instinct kicks in. You know that beforehand if you inform yourself. It's obvious that your dog is a working dog who wants to be kept busy and it's just as obvious that your dog is chronically under-challenged. A dog is not a toy. And if a strong and independent hunting dog doesn't get enough work, it will keep itself busy. If you wanted a couch potatoe you should have bough an english bulldog or a french bulldog but not a hound or another working dog breed.

Hey Stupid, I use to help train dogs for a Police department in CA. I know what I'm doing, I've seen all kinds of problems in all kinds of dogs. Most of the dogs we trained were able to be trained away from bad habits. Many of the dogs we trained passed their exams and became officers. I've had show dogs that were so easy to train, and made great companions. you couldn't be more wrong is you had two heads. @@hanshandkante5055
