Also the character I spoke about was Isabelle she is Bisexual confirmed by Nintendo her first appearance was 'Animal Crossing: New Leaf' and after a while she gained a crush on the mayor player no matter if they chose if they were male or female at the beginning. I've had a similar experiences to the cousin story. My moms a teacher and I randomly ran into one of the only students of hers I actually know, she kinda recognized me and after finding out who my mom is exclaimed "oh! Yes, I think I know you little sister!" 😐 "yah your probably thinking of me as I don't have a little sister" I said. The look on her face was priceless I tell you! The pure confusion!

One of my trans friends did use the name her mom picked because her mom was so sure she was going to have a girl when she was pregnant that she had the name picked out. Turns out she was right, but it took nearly 30 years to realize it.

I’m a cis woman, I can’t begin to imagine what gender dysphoria feels like but the left handed thing is ridiculous. My second grade teacher forced me to use my right hand, even hit me twice because of the issue. Once because one morning I forgot and started with my left and a second time because I started crying. This was 2006 btw, so far from a long time ago. I was scared to tell my mum as I didn’t want to be hit again. I was a good kid, never got in trouble and was scared of mum thinking I’d done something wrong. She saw some of my school work after a while and wondered why it looked like I didn’t write it. I refused to tell her, she asked if I had someone else do my work if that’s why I wouldn’t say. I started crying (because I’d never do something like that), she reassured me I wasn’t in trouble. She walked me to class the next day and spoke to my teacher and she openly admitted what she was doing like she was proud of it. Mum went off. Straight to the principal to report it. I love her for that. She’s the reason I loved school and learning and still continued to after that bitch. The reason I continued still wanting to teach and/or at least work with kids. Mostly unrelated to this video and accidentally made it way too long 😅 but wanted to share that story somewhere so here was it I guess 😂

Because of conditioning, he wrote primarily with his right hand, but he was actually ambidextrous. My point being: the fact that he was beaten into becoming right-handed did not erase his true nature as a left-handed person... Which just made me realize that my dad, although being an African man with very conservative upbringing, would probably be OK with my being bisexual if he was alive to see me right now... Wow

I was a math tutor in college. One woman sat with me to go over her homework. She was self-conscious of her age and told me she feared school. She was beaten for using her left hand as a kid. As a left-handed person myself, I told her times have changed. You don't have to be scared. She said,"I know, but I still am." Her boss was paying for her education. She grew more confident each time I saw her. She would hunt me down so we could celebrate her victories together. She deserves the world.

As a left hander who grew up in the deep south in the 80's, I relate to that last part hard. I was called "Demon Child" and "Wrong" and "Evil" by my family and teachers, bullied relentlessly throughout school because I 'refused to conform to the way normal people did things'. I still have a tiny panic attack when I need to write something down in public because of that.

I am a 56yo, gay, left-handed man who came out some 30 years ago and your last post from Trans Diaries has done more for my understanding of what trans people go through on a daily basis than any other article, chat, book or face to face conversation I've ever had! I've always obviously been a trans ally. But I've just never been given this perspective. Although my bullying as a lefthander could never compare to that of a trans person in a hostile environment, the comparison expands my empathy a hundred fold. I like to laugh about "Did your mom picked it out for you" meme, but every time I see this I feel the need to talk about my name, because I'm a trans guy, and one way I started to "prepare" my mom to me coming out is asking her about things that it would change if I was a boy. I was really confused about my name, I really loved Pedro, but I wasn't sure, one day I asked what name she would give me. She said that it would probably be Pedro or João (really common names here in Brazil, Pedro being like Peter and João like Jhonn). And that's the reason my name is João Pedro now, even though my mom hurt me a lot when I came out, picking the names that she wanted is a way to show her the love that I have for her and that no matter how much she judge me, I'll always think about her and her opinions (Sorry for the bad English, I never tried to write a text in English and it made me very nervous)

I am trans and a few of the most hurtful things I heard from my mom were “You don’t act Trans” (I have been questioning my gender since 4-6), “You are to young” (She said when was 11), and “You are just saying this because your friend did” (I am not, He helped me decide what felt right, each day, he gave me some, and He/Him just felt like it was who i’m supposed to be, I try my hardest to look and seem/act as a boy, so my family going ‘Yeah, SHE blah blah blah’ Hurts me. My dad thinks it’s a mental illness, so I have that going for me in life. (Edit) My friends accept me, so at least that’s good! I still love myself despite what they say! (I’m a trans F2M)

The only thing that triggered me in this is him questioning my smol boi Litwick. HE IS MY PRECIOUS LITTLE GHOST LIGHT 😆!!!

I have an online friend who transitioned, and I knew her when she was still in her "default settings" and had the dead name. She's the first trans person I've known, and the first to change pronouns as well as name. I wasn't really sure what to make of it all, it was a bit confusing at first, so I kinda skirted the sidelines and offered up a few kind words while I watched the whole process. It was pretty cool. She got reassigned, and is really happy now being a woman. She's pretty cool. :)

These video's actually have helped me a lot! For a long time I've been on the fence, maybe thinking I was gender fluid between feminine and non-binary (I was born a male), but after watching some of these videos and realizing I relate to so much of this stuff led me to do a bunch of research about myself and what it means to be trans. It's been very enlightening and an absolutely wonderful experience so far, very similar to discovering my asexuality, and has helped a lot considering how transphobic my dad is. I just love how sweet and wholesome all of these videos have been, and I hope to see more. Thank you, OT, for doing what you do.

Random paleo fact no one asked for: balaur bondoc was a special theropod dinosaur (to me) that lived on an island named hateg, which is now romania. Previously thought to be a dromaeosaur but it is now considered to be an early species of bird. What make this almost bird special (atleast to me) is that it has 2 retractable sickle claws on each foot and is also a case of island gigantism because most early bird during this time are only as big as a seagull, balaur however was nearly 2m in length (6.9ft)
