It’s honestly upto preference. From the amazing people that have helped improve my knowledge with mechanical keyboards, you have more freedom in modding them for both typing and gaming. Linear switches give you a better gaming experience as they’re much more responsive/sensitive and tactile work best for typing. Of course there are other mods that improve the sound of the keyboard. Its all about what you’re searching for and its purpose

try it, and see it yourself. i have some friends that actually likes membrane more than mechanical for some reason, and Quinn one of pro players of Dota 2 use membrane only keyboard on his matches

I think so for two reasons (keep in mind certain keyboards are designed for this, some are not): (1) Software - Latency & Polling rate. Some mechanical keyboards are designed to have lower levels of latency as well as higher polling rates, both of which allow your inputs to be registered faster. (2) Hardware - keyboards with low actuation mean that the physical act of pressing creates the electrical signal faster than it would maybe in a membrane. Again for both of those, it depends on the mechanical you have but a lot of them are designed to be good in both of these.
