This is literally me and my roommate but the difference is He’s the morning guy and I’m the Morning guy but Engineering school made me both the night owl and morning guy
He expected you to keep turning the volume down until it starts creating antisound, absorbing all the other sounds in the apartment that you're making.
Nobody uses headphones anymore. I went 4 years through college and not a single roommate I had ever used them. I was the only one. And I had 2 roommates each year. So between 8 different roommates, not a single one ever used headphones when others were sleeping.
@@eragon78 I use Headphones even when I'm alone. It's cheaper to get good sound from headphones than to get good sound from fullblown speakers. Also, if I'm talking to people, like hell if I'm gonna let their unfiltered conversations out into the world. People are weird.
@@Ventorath Finally, somone who gets it. You can be havjng a chill conversation with a group of a few friends, and then the entire conversation can take a weird or unfiltered shift the moment someone walks into your room to ask you something. I'm trying to keep those moments from happening, I love my headphones
if your roommate doesn't let you sleep at night because he is gaming with high volume you are allowed, by law, to kick his door down at 8 am and throw a bucket of cold water on him.
@@tinomorgenstern3430 to bad when his setup gets ruined by water, also getting him wet, and also electrocuting him in the process. You won’t believe the peace you’ll get after that.
People like that are simply too stupid to use their brains. That’s literally all it is. Let alone who the fuck are they to say anything about your life style lmao.
Was about to say this. I sleep when my wife is about to go to work.. works out though cz I get up by the time she gets home. Weekends are a bitch though
After a long night at the bar, a man invites his friend to see his new apartment. The friend notices a large gong against the wall and asks, "What's with the gong?" "It's not a gong, it's a talking clock." he replies. He picks up the mallet and hits the gong. From the other side of the wall they both hear: "Shut the fuck up! It's 3 in the goddamn morning!"
That last one was my parents. Didn't matter how many times I explained to them I worked 3rd shift, they still couldn't grasp why I was always sleeping when they were doing stuff.
Literally had this dynamic with a friend at uni. I would wake up at 5am and go to bed at 9pm and my friend would wake up at 10am and go to bed at 2am. It wouldn't be uncommon for me to having lunch at the same time he was having breakfast.
The first time I watched Doctor Strange and his spirit reads book while his body is sleeping. I was sO f jealous of that. I mean that'll be the greatest skill a human being might be able to acquire if ever
Well, considering my last roommate is a morning person and I'm a night owl, it's kinda surprising that we're fairly amicable. But i have deep suspicion that he's a nice guy and I'm just overly obnoxious person considering I've done same shit with the night owl in this video
I'm the night owl and my roommate is the morning person, but the "making a lot of noise while the other person is sleeping" thing is flipped... I spend time awake at night coding and generally working in near perfect silence except for the sound of my keyboard (which isn't even mechanical), while my roommate spends the morning hours seemingly making as much noise as is humanly possible through all the means at their disposal, like playing music and watching TV shows (all without headphones) or talking so loud that my hearing-impaired grandfather would bow to them.
I loved it when it happened to me. I and my co-worker lived together (sharing rent) but had different shifts and every time I would come back he would leave. Absolute blessing )
Haha, I like that last part (when someone getting up earlier things they work more, even though they go to bed earlier). Its just like at work, sure I can be there at 5 am, but that doesn't mean anything is getting done until 9. If I get there at 9, I can get more work done than most people (or sometimes 20x faster than someone, but I try not to compare myself to lesser and strive to rival the best and always looking to improve my skill and proficiency). I also work in my sleep, but not all jobs allow for this, however most of my design work is done in my sleep and I play through modeling the part different ways so when I wake up I know the fastest way to model it and what dimensions are critical and often exact values so it only takes me 10 minutes instead of hours because I already know exactly what I need to do (similar for drawings, but I hate drawings and once in a while I'd wake up very angry because I'd realize I spent 5 hours drawing complex installation and it was only a dream, so I'd drive at 2 am to work and just finish the real one so I could go back to sleep, haha!)
I sleep through whatever noise is being made when I'm sleeping in, so I don't really get bothered by the rest of my family. And before someone says they must just be quiet, no, my mom runs an at home daycare.
I've slept through a cat 3 hurricane while living in Central Florida I can sleep through almost any noise short of making my ear drums bleed I'm a sleep when I'm tired kind of person
my dad would go to bed at 3 am and wake up at 7am then he was a jerk all day witch i felt bad for him he couldn't sleep so he just stopped trying and watch tv till he feel asleep but he liked getting up early :/ but he knew when he was in a bad mood because he was always saying sorry and by jerk i mean he would yell and get mad about everything but like i said he was just tired and it wasn't his fault :/
I assure you it is a cardinal sin of the nocturnal church to ever play anything without headphones or to speak outside of a whisper or low inside voice
My previous two roommates (consecutive, not simultaneous) both had night shifts. They were both super cool and chill. The only annoying thing was not being able to use my desk in our shared bedroom because I didn't want to wake them. Also sometimes we'd go days without seeing each other because I was at school during the evening when we would both be awake and not get home until after they left for work.
Man, I work thirds, and my grandparents can't grasp why I sleep all day, they think I should destroy my sleep schedule for them at the drop of a hat and ruin it on my nights off.
Having to wake up before 10 am is a curse. The world is built for morning people, even though you don't get any more hours to the day no matter how early you wake up, it's the same 24h -sleep time
My mom when I watch my shows I genuinely like: can you turn down the volume to -100? Mom's shows she forces me to watch for bonding: louder the better, why are you playing on your phone?
I love how the night owl is low-key the asshole. I know it depends on the people obviously, but it was just funny in my case because it was true, my first roommate was a night owl and he wouldn't stfu at night, longest 7 and a half months of my life
This is my life only instead of my roommates, it's my parents. "You just sleep all day" No, I work all night. When its quiet. And you're not bothering me the entire time. I would go to work at 8pm and come home at 6am and be asleep by 6:30am, and my mom could still not fathom why it was important for her to be quiet from 6am to 2pm because i needed sleep before work. She just treated it like I was just lazy to the point that family friends and my own siblings didnt even realize I had an actual job that was a night shift because of her. They just thought I was just lazy. It was exhausting to deal with and still is.
@@vendetacos I was working two jobs at one point and still couldn't afford to live on my own, even while arranging to get an apartment with another coworker who was also looking to move out of his parents house. We couldn't afford the rent, and now with Covid, I'm unemployed and definitely can't afford to move out. Even one of my siblings had to move back home cause his business couldnt make it and he was recently diagnosed with cancer. So yeah. Sometimes it's not that easy to just "move out".
