Right tool for the job, that is the best advice your video has given. When I day hike, I still carry a small folding saw, with a six inch blade, a tomahawk, and a fixed blade knife with about a 5 inch long blade. I've never been in a "Survival" situation, but maybe thats because I used to teach wilderness survival back in the 80's. I'm 60, going on 61 and I've been collecting knives since the early 80's. And recently I've come across a knife that is good for chopping and splitting, because that is what it was designed to do. That knife is the Khukuri from Nepal. And to this day people in Nepal still use it for doing such work. Any ways, I like your channel and I have subscribed.

The problem with keeping your knife "Shaving sharp" is that edge has no support, and will wear out dull, roll over or chip, if your working with harder wood. I've been collecting knives since the early 80's and I'm going to be 61 this year. So I've learned some things over the years. Like oh, say NEVER chop or baton with a knife. Although, I've come to realize there are some knives that you can use to split wood. But, if your going to do that, put a 22 to 24 degree edge on the knife, so the edge has some support. Even on a day hike I carry a small folding saw, with a six inch blade. a tomahawk, and a knife with say a 5 inch blade. As your narrator said "Right Tool for the Job" Any ways, I like your video's and I have subscribed. Oh, I used to teach wilderness survival back in the 80's here in Wyoming.

I always carry tent stakes, and a tomahawk that has a hammer side. But thats just me. as for a shovel. I do have the Cold Steel Special Forces shovel. Just saying.
