I gotta tell ya man, these Chinese factory can make anything at your budget level, if you can get to them direct without our middlemen, you will not only save a lot of money, but really get what you want for the job.
Chinese factories value relationship more than you think. You 'may' be able to bypass the middlemen and get a better price provided you have the volume. End of the day don't blame China when your border control imposes insane tax on your purchases haha.
Buying directly from the manufactures, that's why the internet commerce is more developed in China, and why the prices are low, because the consumers don't pay for the dealers and shopping malls.
Honestly one of the more concerning things when it comes to the future of Chinese industry versus Western. The west is so concerned with IP nonsense, proprietary ecosystems, and locking down everything, while CN is making increasingly high quality and much more open/well documented/repairable machinery. West could learn from Chinese industry, even just in attitude to the customer.
These are commodity machines now, all you need is a big enough CNC plasma, brake, and hydraulic parts bin and you have 95% of the job sorted. Domestic equipment manufacturers are sleepwalking, pretending their special sauce is a vastly better product when most of it is sales and marketing. We can still build world class product but it takes passion and vision beyond the next quarter's results and that is not as common as we need it to be.
This man from the factory wws very humble and down to earth! It does look like they make a quality product! There in no manufacturer here in the states that makes this type of equipment!
Thanks for the video. I have a few thousand hours in Bobcats but maybe 8-10 hours on the stand behind model. This company looks like they make a very high quality series of machines. Thanks for putting this together.
Keep em coming. I’m excited to learning more about the process and the machine. Thank you for all your time spent putting these videos together. God bless
thanks for introducing this factory. there are 100 factories like these in china, and they will eat one another until the best of the best is left. i appreciate you take the time to appreciate the details instead of knocking china manufacturing, and it is manufacturing. not just piecing together and branding as many service industries do.
They really are just piecing these together and painting them though... Outside fabricators cut/bend panels that are 1:1 copies of other brands, Honda/Kobuto engines, "Italian" valves.... I don't see any significant engineering or fabrication happening here. I think the claims they build 5-Ton excavators are dubious from what I see in this video. 🇨🇳=GOOD 🇺🇸=BAD your community=🤡
@@MetapharsicalI sure do appreciate your feedback! Looks like they piece them together from different areas and parts from all over. Either way, I like my machine quite a bit and could have never been able to afford an American unit. Shoot, the maintenance alone on a used one is the cost of one of these. 🤷♂️
@@Metapharsical So whats wrong with that? building ya own CHASIS from pre cut / cast blocks , while other assemblies are frm other manufacturer ? and lastly giving the equipment a BRAND name of ya own. What SIGNIFICANT ENGINEERING ya want to see ? or FABRICATION ?
@@ulooqulg do I need to point out all the problems caused by China's fraudulent business practices? The whole country is one big Potemkin Village , meant to lure in foreign investment. That's the way China's export-driven economy functions. Chinese , thanks to their corrupt gov mismanagement , have been dirt poor for generations , they barely sustain their domestic markets/products. Chinese will not soon forget the domestic poisoned-milk scandal, and many others... Anyone but the most fervent Wumao will tell you..foreign product is synonymous with quality, and avoid Chinese product whenever possible.
What we need to understand is that the Chinese have developed all the skills required to make a good quality machine now. The ordinary Chinese people are hardworking and enterprising and they have succeeded despite their government autocrarcy. I have found out that they are mostly trust worthy business partners. They have learned from the Americans well.
Chinese government is just as hard-working and humble as the individuals, it's cultural. Any stigma you have against them is due to MSM prop. You can learn more even on youtube through channels like Jerry's take on China. Or just go visit China and find the truth for yourself, it will absolutely change your mind.
LOL, I like you're little weatherman ride along during the video. And that's a nice factory they have, plenty of space, and the welds on that steel look VERY GOOD. Very impressive!
Great video! Thanks for sharing this. As someone who has relatives that own one of these machinery factories in Shandong, your video brings back memories of me driving one of these unpainted loaders around the industrial park. 😆 It’s fascinating to see two groups of down-to-earth people on different continents finding their way through e-commerce and making/buying loaders. One commonality they share is that they don’t talk in fancy words; they get shit done.
Awesome man. Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. Dean seems like a great guy and has been super helpful to me throughout the whole process and after sales as well.
These look to be very well made machines, with the superb Honda and Kubota engines. The company representative seems to be quite rightly proud of the machines they manufacture in their spacious, clean and well configured facilities. Their openness and transparency is conducive to building respect and trust with their customers. Great video, thank you for sharing.
So far, I recommend getting one. It seems amazing. I’ll keep using it and see what I can learn about reliability and longevity. Thanks for the feedback.
I didn't see manufacturing lines with workers producing parts or assembling already made parts. One worker was doing welding for the arms. The arms were sent out for powder-coating. More could be done in another building. Looking forward to your next upload where the laser cutting is done.
Agreed. Lots more done besides in that room. I did upload another video with a tour of a different factory where they use the laser cutter. It’s interesting for sure.
Great little machines, kicking goals with those honda/kubota engines, Thats the winning deal maker right there , and to top it off with Italian made valve body, Derette have certainly done there homework, im impressed, good stuff,
Buying directly from the manufactures, that's why the internet commerce is more developed in China, and why the prices are low, because the consumers don't pay for the dealers and shopping malls.
Haha yeah it was awesome he sent me so many videos. I like this one. I also like the one where he shows the machine that cuts them. That’s next. Thank you, I appreciate it.
I've always been fascinated with these Chinese factories. It's as if they are all genius's, but with a lot of limited resources...working together to produce whatever products they see people want. They make a platform machine, open source parts, that you can afford at an entry price. You have to then go back over it and replace the cheap components such as switches and knobs. It's like a Jeep. You buy it, then replace the crappy mopar v6 with a Chevy v8, then the off road suspension, better parts, wheels, tires, and mods. Why buy it at a premium if you are just going to mod it? The average Joe can replace all these little cheap chinzy parts that saved you up front money. Platform and open source. No liability cause you bought a product as-is from another land.
Agreed. Never really thought of it that way, but you are right. That’s how my mini excavator seems to be. I done have anything to upgrade on this one yet though. Just change the LED lights to flood lights for a wider beam, add a tool storage area under the hood, tie down points on the rear and a place to mount my tripod and camera gear. Haha.
Thanks for the video. We had the ability to manufacture these machines at scale, price and quality in the USA, but have transferred those capabilities to China due to corporate greed. Hopefully the next generation of our politicians will have some foresight My grandma has a radio built in the 1957 and it still is solid as hell. Had a 64 Ford sedan that ran till 2004. Some of my friends own knives that their grand parents handed down to them from the 1930s. If you ever visit Japan, you'll realize how much junk the mega corporations sell us at horrible prices
Dean just sent me photos of them crating my V1000. I think it will take a month to get here. Can't wait! Thank you for your great videos and the factory visit. Shalomgw
Hydraulic lines inches from your hands is an insane design. You need to make a cover for those asap before you get sprayed with high pressure fluid. I wouldn’t take the POS if it was free.
The Bobcat, the small skid steer loader market inventor and creator, an American invention. Hate to say it’s a bit sad seeing our market, once again, getting devoured by inexpensive Chinese knockoffs. I know that’s not the intent if your video. I do appreciate being able to see the factory, cool footage.
Toro is the original maker of the "dingo" mini skidsteer. Bobcat licenses it from them. Many other manufacturers have their own variety of mini skidsteer.
They make a machine called the V1000 with the Kubota or Perkins engine options. Email Dean@Deretteloader.com and you can ask him about them. I plan to get a V1000 with the Kubota soon. Tell Dean you I sent you as well.
I look forward to you covering the ditch digger, stump grinder, any input on their mulcher and more on their brush hog! Good job on your coverage of the 450!
Thank you. I appreciate it. So far the trencher is a big win, the stump grinder I need to practice with, the brush cutter is AMAZING!!! Videos coming soon.
So basically the CHASSIS is in House built, the rest are assemblies purchased from other manufacturers . This is soo good, ya can hv ya own brand name ..
Stump grinder video i'm brimming with anticipation. If by any chance you got a woodchipper, well... That would just be the creme de-la- creme. And obviously a grapple 👍
That’s awesome! I saw it and had to google your company to see where it was going! I saw in your company’s Facebook, you have a Kubota mini skid in a photo. How do they compare? Or do you have the v1000 yet?
While China infrastructure companies are state-owned, SME and many big consumer product companies generally are privately-owned. Large segments of China economy is functioning capitalism.
The term is Market-Socialism i believe. Socialism is a transition stage so similar to Capitalism but with less power to business owner/wealthy class to control the country. Its essentially a promise that the societies direction will be a classless, moneyless society over generations in a pragmatic way
Not sure about Market-Socialism label but my own experiences were the Capitalism segment of China economy is more capitalist than US and EU. China private companies compete fiercely with each other and with foreign companies on capability, quality and price. China govt doesn’t get involved in their normal business operations. US and foreign companies take advantage of this pure capitalist, free-for-all, survival-of the-fittest competition for businesses in China to reap huge profit margin while bankrupt many smaller China companies operating on thin margin because of unethical actions by US and foreign Global Supply Managers (GSM) or buyers. These stories don’t get publicized in U.S. and European media. US privatized (for profit) its infrastructure companies so Americans in many metro areas subjected to high utility bills and high rate increases. China govt retains control of infrastructure companies mainly to ensure its citizens get stable and affordable utility costs so in a way it’s the subsidized or socialism part of its economy. Foreign companies manufacture in China enjoy govt utility, land and tax subsidies just as its domestic companies do so it’s level and fair playing field. This part doesn’t publicize in US and European media. US and European govt (national and state/provincial level) have same or similar subsidy programs to attract local investment and manufacturing. The disinformation or biased in media coverage with intent to manipulate public opinion viewpoints and opinions is usually when the media focus and mention of one subsidy while not mentioning the other similar subsidy. My own experiences at street level were US and Europe are actually more socialistic with its private enterprises than China is.
Sometimes you hear from fiery US politicians grandstanding, scaremongering, broad stroking that all Chinese companies are agents of CCP govt or answering to CCP govt. Well of course all operating companies in China, foreign and domestic, “answer” to CCP govt. In U.S. the “answer” calls federal and state regulations. Every companies operate in U.S., foreign and domestic, have to “answer” or follow US federal, state, local laws and regulations. Same in Europe. China is no different. It’s the same in all functional countries around the world. My own experiences were China govt welcome foreign companies and the average Chinese welcome foreigners and I believe they still are. It’s sad for me to see how anti-China rhetorics in U.S. govt and media are stirring up hostility and resentment when they should work out any difference in mutual respectful manner instead of mud slinging. Regarding China stealing U.S. jobs, it’s US company executives that decide the outsourcing to wherever they want and not China govt. decision to make. So accountability is in order. The jobs go to China are mostly slow-skilled, mind-numbing, repetitive-assembly jobs that US companies have hard time to staff or just want to increase profit margin for stock holders. China govt and ordinary Chinese have no say in those decisions. If not China, US companies would just move to Mexico, India, Vietnam, Thailand, etc… and not back to US.
Great Video Presentation for this factory. I like that VT1000 with the diesel. Wish it had automatic bucket leveling, otherwise it will dump that dirt in your face.
@@OurLifeInTrees When you are loading a truck or trailer with high sides, it's a risk because you are focused on not damaging the sides of the truck/trailer. Last thing you want is a bunch of 6" rocks falling out dinging up your loader hood and ricocheting off your hood into your face.
A lot of information - I would like to connect to see the buying process and howlong everything took. Great video - tour makes me feel more comfortable buying from them. Looking forward to hearing back from you - keep those videos coming
90% of the comments on this channel: New-ish accounts, No subscriptions, No profile pictures, No uploads...leaving their only comment on this channel to praise China and disparage the US no less.. Hey @LifeInTrees , I didn't realize farming meant developing your platform for Chinese astroturfing 😂
I think a clear powder coated machine would be way cooler than a yellow, white, or whatever colored machine. Kinda sad we don’t see them anywhere, they always have some ugly obnoxiously bright color. Sure it’s for visibility or whatever, but a “bare” steel excavator would be so much better looking. Maybe throw on some brass, copper, bronze, perhaps even wood or leather as well to make it look even better. Steampunk construction equipment basically
Do you know dimensions of the crates they were shipped in? Also im going to order everything same as you. Out of the ones you have had a chance to use, are they worth buying and do you recommend them?
I understand that China is leading in this market, making it difficult for American manufacturers to compete. However, promoting Chinese products while displaying a somewhat patriotic flag feels uncomfortable for me.
I’m more promoting capitalism. I found a way to make money, with RU-vid, and for other people to be able to afford a machine that most of us would never be able to afford otherwise. I wish I could afford American made but it not in the budget for me or most other Americans for that matter. I appreciate your feedback.
@@OurLifeInTrees. How much did the skid steer cost? It looks like good quality. It must have taken a lot of time researching this to find what you wanted.
I've watched all of your videos about your mini skid. What is the ground clearance? I'm wandering how this machine will do on a construction site in the mud.
Thank you, I appreciate it. Good questions. The specs say it is 5” off the ground. No idea about mud. I suppose I have to figure these things out now don’t I? lol.
I don't know for sure if this is the real manufacturer but I worked at two US manufacturers of similar equipment and the 'factory' in the video is far too small and inactive. It might be a rework facility but even that is too small. There were no assembly lines, laser or plasma cutters, welding robots, parts bins etc. And the real tell, a whiteboard for order processing. Even mcdonald's doesn't do that.
I know that they are a small company and there is another facility that has the laser cutters I will upload later. I certainly know what you mean though, it’s not like a facility I have seen before.
There maybe some safety violations. But they aren't super major and unfixable. I see some PPE ( personnel protective equipment) being used. There are clear and unblocked exits during an emergency. The factory layout is not-cramped, with parts generally kept in their designated places. I did not see fire extinguishers, exit signs etc. They could be there, simply not showing up on the video. The possible violations are the PPE (helmets), safety labelling and markings and noise isolations. But then, we do know not the Chinese OSHA stands on these either.
I’m not very familiar with the 320. I know it’s smaller and a two pump setup. I read about the models in the Derette brochure but personally haven’t used or seen one.
I will keep buying quality machines from KUBOTA they have very good engineering. When these Chinese machines break you will wish you bought a Kubota that provides you with a complete workshop manual that actually tells you how to fix your machine as well as parts available for old machines.
Thanks for the video, Do you know of a good Chinese manufacturer of mini excavators? I' m looking for a quality 2-Ton machine with the same Honda 2cly gas engine as your mini skid steer?
I don’t have personal experience with any personally. I bought my mini excavator form a dealer here in Oklahoma. Try this Facebook group. Some of the guys in there have had good luck ordering from a few companies. facebook.com/share/omhEmTiimLVXxXJr/?mibextid=K35XfP
White box companies are nothing new in asia. Infact, most of our U.S. major brand computers in the 90's (with made in the U.S.A lables) were manufactured in Taiwan and other parts of asia. Shipped to the U.S. and assembled & Distributed by taiwanese/othre asian white box, sister, companies in the U.S.
LOOK 6:02 at the 4 engine mount brackets inside the chassis. First machine they are only tacked in. Next machine properly welded. Which one did you get? I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to see if yours were only tacked. I'm curious if you even respond I hope you at least check.
Which one did I get? A completed one. Mike is a different model and has rubber isolators for motor mounts. The first one doesn’t seem to be the finished product, does it? Look at 5:57. The sides are tacked on, the main chunk of the machine is tacked, there is even a a piece of angle iron holding it together. The second one looks like it may be ready to goto powder coat. Why would you be curious if I respond? Do you think I’m hiding something over at my secret Chinese factory while I trick people to think I’m in Oklahoma with my videos? I reply to every comment. The point of the video is to show what the manufacturing is really like, not a conspiracy to hide tricks.
I dont know if this video proves they are the manufacturers. We see things through american eyes which can be tricked. Maybe I missed it, but only the office doors had the company name. No name on building and no info on employee uniforms. None of the equipment had the company name. What if there are several different offices within that complex that all have access to the warehouse? What if "the manufacturer" is more of an association of various business kind of like what they are doing in Los Angeles with community commercial kitchens/restaurants where no individual restaurant has a name on the building, they share the same prep tables with other restaurants, and only offers food delivery (no pickup or dine in options). It's just a thought and do appreciate the video! Thank you for sharing.
Chinese manufacturers are using supply chain, they did the design, parts or sections were made by many different factories, those factory may even have no idea what it for, in the end they did the total assemble, they call themself OEM manufacturer so don't have a fixed brand name.
The only problem I see in this factory is that the grinding and welding happens in the same room as the assembly. Dirt is the death of hydraulics. Grinding and welding for this reason is problematic. Could be solved by separating the areas. A sheet would be enough.
I hear there is a chain but don’t know where that would be. Inside the hydraulic drive motor? The hydraulic lines goto the motor and the motor drives the track.
Yes. I did it all through Alibaba. You can contact Dean through the link in the description. He sent me an invoice through Alibaba with everything we agreed on.
nice simple design. i have owned small machines. couple of them good. one was no good, new motor. then it was just fine. anything is hit an miss. i am thinking about getting a little spot. hate this city life. doctors are close. i will be looking again. a man needs to play. have had 4 strokes but i am getting better.
Crazy I clicked the link and the same skid steer came up that’s on the video but there was no options to add extra weights and I got a couple attachments and the loader. The shipping was $38,000 so my total for everything was $49,000, I’ll just buy American.
What link did you click? I paid about $8500 shipped to me in Oklahoma. I didn’t click the options, I talked to the sales rep, Dean, and he set it all up for me.
I will remove earlier comment I spoke with Dean. I believe he got me the whole set up for 12,580 shipped to me to my door at Florida. Thanks for the RU-vid video.
The engine is Honda, pumps are Parker, the motors are Danfoss, lines can be made anywhere, and most parts aren’t too hard to come by. I need to dig into sourcing local parts. Good idea.
Thats your own decision to make, they use reputable parts, honda, kubota, good pumps and valves... Good luck finding parts for it if you break the chassis though.
There are many companies that sell this machine. I believe Derette manufactures all the machines like this. I have been known to be wrong, but I will upload the factory tour of where they make them. From the steel plates being cut on a plasma machine to final assembly.
OK. That was awesome. I feel more like buying one now. Lol. Ok. Maybe he would send you there to actually video it yourself and show more accurate videos and easier to understand also. He did good though.
