Good Morning sir, I just wanted to say, I have watched the entire build series over the past couple of days in my free time. This is exciting news for me,. I wanted to say thank you for all you are doing to help others get involved in this side of the radio operator options. your scripted worked well. I just had two micro sd cards. loaded one to see what I wanted then run it again on the other one. I really appreciate your work and expertise.

Great work....especially for the guys who want to do a multitude of things with their Pi. My basic Raspbian with WSJTX setup is much simpler for my simple minded requirements. Thanks it was very interesting to watch.

Its great Jason that the ongoing work are continual improvements. It really is quite a nice thing for a person to have the ability to have pretty much a turnkey option to build a PI even though they may not have the knowledge to do so otherwise 73 Andy N0JPD

&&& Has anyone reported to have a sudden issue with ARDOP GUI no longer talking to FLRIG? I cannot get it to connect to the radio anymore. FLRIG still has comms with the radio, ft8, wspr, and js8call still not and will send ans receive. But ARDOP GUI has no TX or RX with the radio at all.

Idempotency is one of the harder parts of config management. Have you looked at doing this in a tool like Ansible? It could cut down on the maintenance burden.

Jason, The Build a Pi has been great even with the little issues. I have enjoyed it very much. Just for the hotspot and GPS time alone it has been a life saver for me. I will be using your build for Field Day as portable solar this year. Again, Thanks for all of you and other testers have done on this project. If it's not already in Pi 3, you might want to ... before the installation starts ... provide a list of the information required (and why) so that the operator can have it ready. Looking forward to the release candidate!

Any idea why the 857d sometimes needs to run in reverse on fldigi. I copy one day in mfsk with flamp normally and the next time I have to run in reverse

In watching your Raspberry Pi videos. What is your thoughts on the differences between the Build a Pi, and the DRAWS Hat?

Two different philosophies. My script works with most hardware and gives the operator choice for what they want installed. DRAWS hat uses specific hardware and a custom pre built image.

Realizing that it would require more screens, could you set it to have the user pick the options they want to install, and then prompt them with a screen that asks for the required information for those? For example, if they're not installing Winlink/ARDOP, they would be presented with a screen that doesn't have a place for a winlink password.

Included in release candidate 2 :-) I had already moved hotspot info to work this way. Now Pat info will work this way as well.

@@KM4ACK Yeah. I put this up right away, and then maybe two or three minutes later you pretty much said everything I suggested. :D I'll be eagerly waiting the updated version of the script and the GUI versions of Pat Menu and Hotspot Tools (I know I can probably get them now)

have you looked into ansible at all? For this heavy of a config (and I'm totally impressed with what you have been producing and at such a high rate!) it seems like a natural choice so you could just have us do a git pull, then ansible playbook run to bring over any new tools you provide, as well as it makes sure services are installed and running. Just a thought. Again Really love what you have been making for the pi, and I can't wait for testing to open so I can finally get my technical! GMRS is too quiet here.
