As a person from July: Why are rubies so damn expensive. I got my ears pierced with tiny rubies, but they are so minuscule because otherwise they'd be so expensive
Rubies really cover the price range depending on their quality, locality, and any treatment applied. Check out our assortment on Jedora, where they range from $25 and up! www.jedora.com/shop/gemstones/ruby-gemstones
Very interesting, I was expecting a more ancient origin for this, and perhaps something associated with the Eastern zodiacs! Good to know where it is actually from
Honestly born in April I'm a diamond too, my opinion: Really? The most bland stone there is, used in pretty much all jewelry from from weddings to birthstones to pretty just just your defacto hey it's jewelry what did you expect to be in there? I get it it's shiny, might be the easiest to reflect light beautifully. I like color. My favorite color is red, and your birthstone being a diamond kinda makes it not special or unique anymore when like I said it's the default gem used in like everyone's wedding ring. Why is diamond even a birthstone? It shouldn't be. Give me some color and add flair to April. Look at how fancy the first October stone looks? 4:56 Now that's beautiful.
I'm always so confused about Garnet beeing the stone asociated with January...Growing up in germany, all january "lucky gems" asociated things named Onyx as januarys gem. I own multiple of those things, but I can't find anything online about Onyx beeing asociated with january, or why it would be asociated with that month, yet alone the Aquarius sign
Being born in September, I'm lucky to have every color of sapphire (except red, of course) for my birthstone. I wish there were at least that many options for every month, but especially for May and July.
George Kunz was often peeved about something or other. Hiddenite really got him upset. I didn’t know Spinel was added as an August Birthstone. It’s a beautiful stone. I wouldn’t replace Peridit though, I love it. Thanks Rob.
@@Liesl_Frank - Surprisingly a lot of people don’t like Peridot. It is actually my birthstone. When you consider it is made deep in the Earths Mantle you can appreciate it’s had a tough time. I own one from Pakistan with Lugwidite inclusions splaying out from the centre. Thank you for taking your time to comment. 😀 from Wales 🏴.
We have three! Peridot, Sardonyx, and Spinel. I grew up being gifted Peridot and was surprised to randomly look it up just now only to see new ones added on 🤣
Awesome video! Keep doing what you’re doing! I think each month of the year should have a different color of jade associated with it. Green jade, red jade, ice jade, etc 😜
My birthstone is turquoise! (December) I've always wanted a raw turquoise statement necklace, and I finally got one some months ago. I love it. Also, what about pearl (June) and turquoise (December)? Where did that come from? Because I'm not familiar with actual gems being associated with those months. It's always been pearls for June's birthstone and turquoise for December's birthstone as far as I'm concerned.
My birthstone is amethyst. I was born in February. I'm Pisces Sun (or Aquarius/Pisces Cusp) and Aries Moon. My Zodiac crystals are: amethyst, aquamarine, bloodstone, garnet, and red jasper. 🙂
Mine is Amethyst. Affordable + I love them. I have them over my desk, bedside table, over head on my bed, decorative shelf, TV, bathroom and I keep some in the boxes.
I've never heard of this birthstone thing. Ok maybe heard of, but not more than that they exist. My question.... who does this changes of birthstones? And why?
It's very fascinating to know the history about the birthstones and it keeps changing though out time.😯💎🤔📖 Also that the zodiac is connected to the gemstones and their meanings, knowing this information since I'm an Aries.♈🔴 Since you asked, I like to see another gem added with diamond💎 to the April birthstone mouth. Thanks for teaching us about it.🧑🏫 Nice video and see you later.😊👍💎🥳🎂
so why is emerald and beryl seperate, as emerald is the green variety of beryl? and the beryl shown is most likely a morganite, a pinkish variety of beryl? beryl is a group of several varieties of minerals such as emerald, morganite and aquamarin. same with onyx and agate. onyx is the black variety of agate. jasper and amethyst and ruby and sapphire can be named next to each other as they are both varieties of the same group (quartz and corundum). but it somehow doesn't make sense to me to once name a mineral group and then name a specific variety of the group seperate. for example if Beryl is your birthstone, you could basically choose which one you like, also including emerald which is already assigned to another birth month. so it doesn't make any sense...
if I could change something, I would really like April to not be the freaking diamond. Or to at least get something else in there. Other months get three or four, and yet several of the months get exactly one. I don’t think that’s fair.
I have aquamarine as my birthstone but most jewelry I find is too pale in color for my taste. You only get good color payoff if you spend a pretty penny and I’m poor AF. I tend to gravitate towards peridot jewelry instead because it has more color saturation plus it’s not super expensive. I also loooooove opals.
nice vids that give info to birthstone thq ,,but it is changing adding or deleting in all time ,,my suggest is may iss add cchrisolla in calsedony that woukd be good
30 some odd years ago I was at Macy’s was around the time of my birthday. I was trying to choose between ruby emerald and sapphire jewelry set. My birthstone is Ruby but I’d heard a rumor that emeralds were going to be hard to find. I went ahead and bought the emeralds. They are a beautiful deep green color. It was definitely worth the investment
When I get engaged or married I want the ring to instead of having a diamond, have my birthstone and my spouses birthstone. It'll be funny if we were both September babies. 😆
didn’t realize march used to be bloodstone. Now I need to fashion one of my roughs into something cus I trust ancient spirituals more than capitalists of today… not that I believe in any of it (kinda do lowkey)
I think we should go with the Communist version - Jan = gravel, Feb = gravel, Mar = HAS to be gravel, Apr = umm, can't think, it's on the tip of my tongue...
November has topaz (traditionally yellow/orange topaz), and the new stone is citrine?! Thanks, no thanks from November babies that don't like sunny colours!
Why does October get such whack gems one can be made in a lab much like a gold digger, and the other is pink then I hear red stone well we're getting somewhere
Can we please stop adding pink stones to October??? Its the month of Halloween and the start of Fall. Why can't we get some amber colored stones to match? Red, Orange and Yellow stones would make way more sense.
Bold of you to assume I was born. All kidding aside, changing stones from original scripture just makes the whole birthstone list BS. It just became marketing once they changed it
