He proclaimed it by not denying it. He said "Call no man Father, Rabbi or Master for you have but ONE in heaven" insinuating that the Father, Master and Rabbi are all ONE in God. YET the deciples continued to call him master and rabbi and he didn't correct them or rebuke them for it. He corrected them every other time they were wrong so therefore they were not wrong in calling him those things because he is the ONE (i and the Father are one)also in heaven. When Thomas fell and worshiped him saying "My Lord and my God" Jesus once again did not rebuke him for saying those things, he rebuked him for not seeing and recognizing it earlier. Jesus also told Satan that it is only God who is to be worshiped and yet he allowed Thomas to worship him which is another proof that he was God. When Jesus said I am not as great as the one who sent me, he was referring to his flesh. He was reminding us that the flesh is a creation of God and is below God, but because He in Spirit is God it did not change his nature as God.
