These situations are tough. I’ve been in your shoes, Billy. People aren’t always willing to understand the reasons for your purpose. Deer hunting is very important in the burbs. It’s up to the residents to understand the consequences of too many deer on the landscape. Many do not.

There is no quantifiable lesson. You are hunting in tight urban environments. It goes with the territory. Some neighbors would be mad if you were handing out dollar bills. Some would want $5's. hunting urban means this is a risk that comes with it.

You made a great shot Billy! A perfectly placed arrow, but as we all know they don't die or drop in their tracks with arrows unless you hit the spine. Reminds me of the Chasing Tails show on the History Channel many years ago. They hunted New Canaan, CT, and had to retrieve the buck off someones pool cover!

I also urban hunt and what I do to help avoid situations like this when I secure permission on a small parcel I talk to ALL the neighbors surrounding that property. Sometimes when I talk to them I get more permission other times they tell to f*#!k off other times they are indifferent and give me permission to recover a deer but not hunt. Seems like either way this situation was unavoidable though. It sucks but it's part of hunting. I don't look forward to if I ever have to go through this.

Man that’s tough! Even though you appear to have done everything “right”, things happen. I’m sure the landowner at least appreciated the professionalism and courtesy you showed her.

I just started watching Hunt Urban and it took me several videos to figure it out. 98% of your content is your face on the screen talking into a GoPro. 2% of the content is actual in the stand hunting. I'll pass....
