If Palestinians want to commemorate their Nakba, great, they don't need anyone's permission or approval to feel whatever they want. However, they should also realize that they were responsible for a great part of it along with all other Muslim countries around. Yes, Israel did declare its Independence in 1948 but it was not out of the blue. The Jews had a shared identity that helped them plan and organize and turn this identity to a country. when there were discussions over the partition plan, it was not between the UN, Jewish people and the Palestinian people. It was between the UN, the Jewish People and the Arab states. No Palestinian representation (because the identity was not formed). Palestinians were not organized they did not have an identity, there was no Palestinian people, no flag, anthem or any other symbol. All these were formed after 1967 not before 1948. In 1948 there was a war that had the following implications: Territory - The war was not started by Israel and as such it is considered as a defensive war and by all treaties/agreements among nations the outcome of defensive war by the defender regarding land is different than the aggressor. further more, since any land taken by Israel in 1948 and in 1967 did not belong to a Palestinian state, there is no claim to it by Palestinians today. Aggression - The Arabs living on the land were not neutral. In previous decades there were countless conflicts between the Jewish and the Arabs and when the war started the local Arabs were fighting along side the attackers. refugees - As a result of this state of War, some Arabs left their houses out of fear and some out of a promise to find a better life in other Arab countries. It is also important to note that at the same time, roughly the same amount of Jewish people were expelled from the surrounding Muslim countries by force and intimidation as well and became refugees in the newly formed state of Israel. Where Israel accepted the refugees and assimilated them in their society, the Palestinian refugees were kept in camps and isolated from the host countries population with limitation on work, education, residence etc. Even today, if you think about it, why are there still Palestinian refugee camps? Palestinians today have their own government, their own funding from donation around the world, representation in almost all the countries as well as in the UN and even in the Israeli Parliament and they still are living in refugee camps. why? Why has there not been any investment in improving the life of the Palestinians? instead they all are promoting the dream that one day they will all return to their property back from 1948 and all will be better. That is the dream they want, instead of a better life today for them and their children.

i like how this video fails to say that Isreal didn't start the 6 day war or any war for that matter. It acted on self defense againts attacking nations. However I do agree that Palastenians are treated as second class

Alright listen while these are simple statements, they do leave out the broader picture. Firstly, while both sides are at fault, you can't dismiss the Israeli perspective. For one, the Arab countries declared war on Israel and that is how the land was achieved. The area known as Palestine wasn't governed by Palestinians, it was by the British. This and so much more paint a false picture, both sides are guilty of this and only furthers the problem.

It sounds like theyve had it real good, if I were them I wouldnt have even fought back, i would have just let them take everything from me. Not like they can fight back, anyone who does is a terrorist, right? I think its clear whats happening, some of the worst things imaginable have been done with good intentions.

I have an honest question. Under an independent palestine, will Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual and Transgender people enjoy equal rights and protections under the law? Will they be allowed to marry or at least form civil unions? Will men and women have the exact same rights and responsabilities? Will it be a secular state? Will the State of Palestine recognize freedom of religion? If the answers to all these questions is YES, then I swear I support Palestinian independence.

There are no "Palestinians" people. This is Arafat's invention. Arabs from Saudi and Egypt came to the land of Israel in the 20's and 30's when the Jews came from Europe and created work places. By the way, Jewish presence were in the land of Israel for more then 4000 years. Before Islam was even created. You can Goggle what I am saying and you will see it for yourself a Hamas Imam who begs the Egyptian for help in one of the last conflicts in Gaza. You show the Palestinians refugees in all areas of the world, except that's not true. Most of them are in Arab countries, i.e Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon. The refugees in those countries have stayed as refugees, while refugees in Israel have been given citizenship. So stop your Jew-hating

This video is very one sided for purpose of progressing Palestinian cause -and- therefore a piece of political warfare falsly positioning motivations of Jews in Israel by leaving out the necessary context to accurately describe the situation at different times. A comment and a few lines do not do justice. Jews acknowledged Arab grievances in agreeing to partition line. Arab leaders did not acknowledge any historical connection Jews have with the land even though Islam itself does. The word diaspora means Jews are from somewhere- Israel before being dispersed and dispossessed since Roman times. Jews, a minority keeping an identity from that time was a factor that made antisemitism easy for majority leaders when it suited them- political expediency without care. ultimately this was the same important reason Jews had to return to this land and regain autonomy without the age old stigma and physical threat of antisemitism in the world.
