I'm an old school dj when we had to haul what we called coffins that carried 1200's the size of huge dog houses. Oh and when crates were actual milk crates full of vinyl. But the one thing I learned is you can have all of the dj equipment you desired.but it all worthless without the MUSIC. also talent and creativity won't hurt. Many thanks to the crossfader team for your tireless commitment and creativity .
music should not be free.... and please stop dj'ing on big systems with mp3's, always go lossless. FLAC, WAV or AIFF. every producer, soundengineer and the ears of you audience will thank you.
Beatport is always my first preference but I’ve used Juno a few times when a particular track I was after wasn’t available on Beatport for some reason. #WeAreCrossfader
hey im currently subscribed to 2 record pools and still can't find songs that im looking for. I refuse to subscribe to a 3rd record pool. Another dj told me he doesn't recommend downloading songs from soundcloud because of the quality so I don't want to risk that. Do you have any other recommendations?
Personally I think there’s nothing better than going to a record shop and doing a bit of crate digging, I always seem to find music which I’d never even think of listening to. Otherwise Bandcamp is great - they support the artists far more than other competitor services and you can also get music in a range of formats.
Hi, great video. Is one or more of the DJ pools providing parts of songs? For example I want from song A the vocals, from song B the drums and from song C the melody. Or can you tell me, if there is a pool for that?

I have been remixing tracks from scratch using only the original vocals for years just for fun, does anyone know if there is a way I can actually make money from these? Can I perform them live, can I add them to record pools etc

Jesus what is happening on BPM supreme? How crappy village festival house music with auto tune singers get under the techno genre? Not juts one accidentally, but all of the ones in the trending section. They should really have barriers in submissions. Totally useless.
instead of paying hundreds & thousands for unnecessary dj equipment, you all should pay for the music, that these dj's, musicians, artists and your audience/crowd could profit from it !!! it's a totally fuckin' mindset to expect the most important for free. do you really think that's correct and fair ?
Whats the best side to get music like Progressive psy and UK-Hardhouse like Tidy Boys,Lisa Lashes,BK ? To be honest most of the music i play are 8-10+ years old. I love artists like Glitter,Piatto,UMEK,Alexander Madness + many others. Im new to Djing and struggling to find quality mp3 music that i like. I want the old bangers not the new shit that is comming out. LOL !!
Hi I’m just starting off as a dj and I’m wondering if I have a big list ready of songs I want to use now and songs I might use in the future could I just pay for one month of a record pool to download all the songs at once and then don’t renew the subscription the next month? Or is it a case of i I cancel my membership I can’t access my downloaded songs Thanksss
As a very beginner dj I use mostly Beatport, but I'm also looking into switching from Spotify to Tidal for streaming/listening to tracks. #WeAreCrossfader
@@dryxbeeI don't mind. Well, beatport is pretty ok for my needs so far, but in the mean time I'm waiting for a great deal on Tidal to do the switch from Spotify. I think I might keep using spotify as well (without subscription) just for listening to music. Oh and in the mean time I'm also using youtube music (with youtube premium) for searching for new tracks. Sometimes the tracks are not yet present on Spotify, and/or unavailable after a couple of days/weeks/months. I hope that spotify will be available again for streaming in dj softwares like rekordbox or serato or any other.
i refuse to use anything apart from bandcamp these days. at least i know the money is going to the artist. not some dude making shitty remixes and charging for it on a record pool.
Another great video, but It should be good to mention that DJ pool are not for everyone. In most cases, if not all, you must apply as a professional DJ. So people like me starting with almost nothing must go for other solutions.
I mean all of these options are shit just pirate them it's a dj set and artists (like myself) are gonna earn less than a cent for getting their music played on a set
I used JunoDownload most of the time. After 10 years of being away from DJing and 3 computer changes, I needed to go back and recover everything I'd bought in the past. With JunoDownload, it was really easy - BeatPort has changed dramatically in the last 10 years (probably for the better), but all those tracks I purchased before? Can't redownload them. It shows I own them on my BeatPort account, but there's no way to download them any more. So I've gone back to JunoDownload.
How do I get the best quality MP3’s?? A lot of times the MP3 Files that I download say they are 320 quality but a lot of them still have trouble??? Can anyone put me in the right direction with getting better quality music or software that can help??? I only play 80’s Music MTV early days…..Thanks!!! ;)
