Where Do I Even Start??? (New Characters In SSO) 

tbh the update isn't even that bad. they said they will add more body types and etc. the bugs eventually will get fixed.

I actually like the update, having more customization options than we ever have had before is great! Getting to customize your body is a huge step in the right direction❤️ I don’t see how all of us being put in the same skinny girl box was very representative with the old characters? At least now we all look different, and I think that’s a good thing❤️

It’s utterly bananas seeing the sheer amount of negativity floating around in the community. Just yesterday I was sitting at Steve’s, watching global chat absolutely judge and ridicule a player for liking the new characters, saying that something is wrong with them for not liking the body and current customization options. Now I personally like the new characters because there’s a pretty decent amount of racial diversity and individuality that’s been given to us compared to the old models. It’s honestly so refreshing to see that everyone’s characters are all different from one another as opposed to the, honestly cookie cutter old models…everyone looked the same, no sort of personality, just soulless, representations of the player behind the screen. Now I understand that people hold emotional attachments to the old characters. I’ve played sso since 2015. I understand the characters not representing what you look like, but please keep in mind that there’s people who play the game, who now feel as if the new characters do accurately depict them as a person…be respectful and stop attacking others just because you’re upset or don’t like something. Truth be told I also don’t think the issue lies with the character update itself, it’s the community if you can even call it that anymore. It’s been really upsetting seeing players talk down on the bigger body types and skin tones. Actually I take it back, it’s disturbing. Of course not everyone falls under the category of rude, hateful players. Infact I think there’s more respectful players compared to the opposite. But the ones who are fat shaming and bullying others are such a loud and aggressive minority of the player base.

I completely agree. This community has gotten out of hand and they need to grow up. It’s time they realize things aren’t always going to be perfect. I barely even log on anymore because it’s changed so much.

Coming from someone who didn't like the characters at first, I grew to like them because I saw the need for this update to the game. It's not perfect but it will get better, the bugs you are seeing today will be fixed soon so be patient. the bodies that you most identify with will soon be put in the game just be patient and about each one's opinion with the choice of others... please respect that's all..RESPECT.

My only problem with the faces is that when all of them smile they like look they have cotton in their mouths XD But that's more an animation gripe XD The other problem is from the other spectrum, I ended up in a big argument with people about wanting to have a skinnier body type. And I was told to "be quiet" in EXACTLY those words. And I just felt like, what? It's coming from both ends, it's a heated discussion, hopefully it will start to cool down in a few weeks. Coming from someone who grew up playing this game, I miss my old character. I felt more connected with her, going as far as to never change her appearance once. This game used to be my escape, so I really do get the frustration. Even with my disappointment from the lack of body types, I think the new characters are throwing people off guard. Seeing a new face on our screens will take some time to get used to, especially for older players. This community has been a ticking time bomb for years now, and I think this was the breaking point for a lot of people. Star Stable should have waited to release the update, perfecting the many flaws that the community pointed out, instead of giving us a glitchy one. The stirrups are driving me insane. I'm not surprised that the community sent hate to SSO, but the extent of the hate is horrifying. Hating on someone's body type is NEVER acceptable, no matter how mad you may be. I hope with time people can realize what their saying and doing is extremely disrespectful, and apologize.

6:03 Exactly this. I was essentially scared away from taking riding lessons after seeing how absolutely horribly mean everyone was. There's a constant expectation to either 'do everything perfectly, or you're a complete failure that we'd rather stomp on until you're a little dot on the ground'. As someone who *already* has issues with anxiety and a fear of failure, i could IMMEDIATELY tell that being in that sort of atmosphere would stress me so much. It's sad, because I enjoy being around horses, I feel safest when i'm around horses, but only when people aren't there.

I personally throught i would hate them when I saw them. Ive been around since 2013. And I remember everyone begging for bodies and now we have bodies but oh my lord this community is something else. Obviously the points you made that drive you nuts bug me the same. But despite those bugs and the big change no one is talking about the positives of the update and it makes me so sad. For example the HAIR, the hair is absolutely amazing!

I miss my old character but the game is looking so good now!!! The characters need work and they will work on it but it’s pretty good! I give sso lots of congrats and credit! It’s definitely making me want to play more.

As someone who also doesn’t really see themselves in mainly any of the body types, I can also understand the frustration on not just people not seeing themselves, but also if anyone mainly has an issue with the proportions, the way the face is animation wise, etc. However, I do feel like it’s extremely important to not shit on someone for liking it because at the end of that day people need to understand that not everyone’s gonna hate/love something. As of right now for me the way I look I feel mainly decent, but ugly because of probably mainly the way my body type is right now with missing mainly my curves, ass, boobs, my height, my sandy lightish tan skin tone, my irl hair color and muscles on some parts of my body (mainly my calves, and slightly my arms). However, people also gotta realize that there’s people who have those body types and yes not all the body types in the game represent everyone hence why I honestly think they should’ve waited on this update, add sliders so we could individually customize ourselves, add a lot more shades in skin and hair, height, etc. Even though I don’t really trust SSO, I actually applaud them for saying something that even though should’ve been said sooner in a lot of other situations in regards to the characters or outside of the characters, they actually said stuff that really needs to be said. As for how I am with my character now, still mainly not seeing myself, but after mainly getting help on changing the small things like makeup and hair after what I did in the maker portion of this update, did help a lot with feeling decent. Even as someone that use them in art edits, this update scared me because of especially with how they need more shading editing wise it was a struggle due to mainly no shading and having to reshape some stuff to feel like me. Hence why it helped a lot after figuring out how to adjust with pictures and other stuff. Do I still feel ugly at times? Yes, but do I sometimes feel decent or even good about how I look sometimes? Yes. The way global went off was haywire and at the same time sadly I did feel like that was big uproar on them was coming since it was a mixture of basically every kind of comment whether it was in the form of insults, actual feedback (positive or negative),etc. Historically this was the biggest and most anticipated update in SSO history that has caused a huge uproar in terms of history. Ok now that’s out of the way, overall I hope people that are mainly getting fat shamed, insulted, etc. for the way they look know that regardless they’re beautiful no matter what because it’s not about what other people approve of what you (as in yourself) look like, it’s about what you want to look like to feel yourself. Even thought I don’t have that feeling of “Hey this is me” yet, I do hope SSO adds more to the characters both in customization, animations, etc. so that people could properly feel like themselves and that it hopefully at least lessens the amount of shitty comments people get just for wanting to look like themselves💗Brilliant video Mellee👏🏽 and thank you for speaking up on it as well☺️

On the day of the update in the Global Chat I litteraly saw someone saying : '' I wish the new character would drift off a cliff, drown in water and fucking die'' HOW OLD ARE PEOPLE. Mind you, this same person was at least 16+ years old because I used to play with them. When I saw their comments I was like '' Are you litteraly threatening and bullying a pixel character? A PIXEL CHARACTER Like.. that is messed up.'' And THEN to add it up, a girl said that she just created the new appearance of her character and that she was litteraly in love with it'' and the person that was wishing dead to the new character told her she should litteraly died WITH the character????????? I litteraly was at lost of word because I kept imagining that this girl who just made her character the way she liked it, might be fucking 10 years old or even younger and they were just told to die because they liked a PIXEL CHARACTER. I am so disappointed in this community and I really think this is the most toxic one. It litteraly make me scared of being in a club from now, like I wouldn't be surprise if the requirements to be accepted in a club would be like '' If you like the new character you can't join us''. That update litteraly showed the true colors of SSO community and I am so sorry to the people who actually work for StarStable.

I really love that you talked about it, I personally love that they are finally releasing the new characters and all that, but I really do find it hard to fit in especially as I am similar to your body type and I just don't feel represented when I look at myself in game. This update also is really weird to me personally just since the bodies are so much different, and I really appreciate them representing people who aren't skinny or blessed with bodies like others, but I feel that isn't an excuse to just forget about people that have thinner bodies. Edit- The customization is very good though it is very nice and the options are great and I think Star Stable is going on the right path for this update! This is no hate towards the new update I quite enjoy it, I was just stating what was on my mind! Love your videos and how honest you are! ❤ Edit- I have heard that Star Stables is going to start releasing the types of bodies that I talked about so I am very happy. Sorry if I might have made it sound like a rant lol.

i loved my old character, ive had great memories with her and miss her a lot. i dont see myself in the new characters, not just with the body but also the hair and face. i like how we have more options to choose from, but i was expecting for the nose, eyes, mouth, etc., be able to be chosen separately. maybe thats too much to ask, but it still would be great. i like that sso is trying to include everyone, with the bodies, and they cant add a lot yet because of the mobile players, but i still just dont see myself in the new character. i dont recognize myself in my character. i like the hair styles though, its pretty nice to see them updated, although i miss the old spikey ponytail i had :,) if someone else likes the update though, i dont care, thats your opinion. you might identify with your new character and thats fine, but some of us just dont. i cant really make any good outfits with the new character expect for some jackets and cargo pants, but thats pretty much it. i loved being a supermodel and i loved the body we had before the new character. but i guess we will just have to be patient and see if sso will add more stuff. stuff to the character that we can recognize ourselves in, if that makes sense..

I totally agree with what you're saying. I feel like the Star Stable community just isn't the same after the update. There are people spamming the global chat with rude words about other people's characters. I mean I don't blame them for being shocked or angry at the update but its just an update, people! You can't change anything about it, so don't waste time complaining or throwing your disappointment at other players who enjoy the game. I feel like someone finally knows what I mean

Star Stable did say that they’ll be adding more body types and more customization options. I love the new characters, I can represent myself perfectly now. I’m definitely not skinny or flat. I hate body shaming, I hate the negativity. It’s uncalled for.

The thing is I want to use the 3rd bodytype but I am totally scared that I'll be shamed. It makes me feel bad really :')) But THIS made me feel a little better. Maybe I'll check it out later idk. I literally agreed with everything in this video. Going *that* far with hatred of an update should never be tolerated. Like yeah, I miss my old character and I am getting used to my new character, but I would NEVER go as far as demeaning other people for what they look like

I completely agree with this, I am so sick of hearing so much negativity around it all, we went from characters that were pretty ugly and extremely out of date, to actually having options about them. I've been playing this game for years, I understand why the old characters were symbolic of the experience of it all but it doesn't mean that you wont make new memories with these characters. You shouldn't be relying on a character in a video game to represent and validate how you feel about your self and your body, even in games like sims which its sole purpose is life simulation, doesn't have all the body types. There are 7 billion people on earth, you think they will ever be one specific body type for everyone. No. Side note, there is not a body type in that game that is even similar to how I look in real life, yet a single thought about being unrepresented has never crossed my mind. Hilarious how a game can do something great and be trashed on by people that clearly have nothing better to do.

I’m not an equestrian whatsoever.. I used to have a huge horse phase that I dropped years ago but recently I’m coming on my 18th birthday I have been getting back into the horse games and It’s been awesome and I love it so much. I wanted star stables ever since I was young but never got it. Seeing it now I still want it but knowing even not ever playing this game, a lot of people are so hateful and mean! I’m now debating to get this game, it looks so much better and upgraded then way back in the day! I’m in love with the graphics.

I typically don't comment on things publicly cause there was always someone that wanted to argue with me about nothing. But me and my sisters didn't really had a horse girl phase cause we lived it. My family rode and keep horses before and after we was born. As soon as we could walk we was put on a saddle. I rode horses nearly all my life. We stopped a couple of years ago cause life happened: my granddad had to be put on 100% oxygen, my older siblings got married and started families of their own & it was getting expensive to buy and keep horses especially since we wasn't really riding like we used to so one by one we had to sell all our horses. But i started SSO cause my sister found it and she started playing about 3 or 4 years ago. She told me lots about it and like her i started watching SSO youtubers. I started playing late 2022 cause that's when i finally got my laptop. I'm 25 years old, and i love making up stories as much as reading them. I don't necessarily like my body right now, (i'm 5'2 and bordering on 3 hundred pounds) which i've been struggling with. So to cope with my body image and personality i like making characters a complete opposite of how i am in real life. I like my character now. More body types will come and even more good things too, we all just have to be patient. I'm sorry to hear that you like some, are not happy with the characters for right now. I hope SSO releases a body type that u feel is the right one. I understand SSO has done terrible things but in my opinion, SSO don't deserve the 100% amount of unbriddled hate that SSO gets nearly on the daily. I can understand the frustration when something goes wrong or something isn't finished before releasing, you know something that has a cause and effect. I value constructive criticism. I don't like it when there's people hating on something when their only responds i get about why is solely based on nostalgia. I get that too, but you doon't see me trying to cancel the new show of "Ready Set Wiggles" simply cause i grew up watching "the Wiggles" cause they changed the core main cast excluding thw fact that they kept Anthony 'the blue wiggle'. I hope everyone can calm down and think clearly. Hopefully if we all can calmly keep constructive criticism going SSO will hopefully start lisening better but that's just me being an optimistic person. The most slim character model is more thick than me, and I was pretty ambivalent about all of faces, but I dont care that much? SSO was not THE horse game of my childhood, a couple of others fill that spot, so maybe I would care more if it were, but idk. Ive played a lot of games in a variety of genres, and there’s rarely been a game that had everything I wanted from character customization. Some games dont have a dirty blonde hair color option, and when I dont go with my real hair color I like to pick a nice auburn or lighter natural red, but many games dont have natural reds, they just have "flaming carrot" and "fire truck." Many games dont have a pale skin color that matches mine, they're either pink (who actually has pink skin?) or too yellow. Many games have very green and very blue eyes, but no blue-green. Many games dont have any options for curl textures in between kinky and wavy, and when they do they're often ugly. SSO not having a body type that's skinny enough to match me is a pretty new experience though, usually game devs make sure to add a "toothpick" body type from the beginning. Of all the things I listed, I think the one that annoys me the most is actually the lack of decent curly hair options in games.

YESSS oh my god!!!!!!! The amount of toxicity this update has gotten is literally mind blowing. Irl I have a "bigger" nose that has a curve to it and a more angular, prominent face. I have been called ugly and "weird" my whole life because of the face I have. I love that SSO tried to include different faces. It makes me feel more seen in all honesty. In my opinion I would like for us to be able to change different features separately, but in all, I don't absolutely hate it. I can't wait to see what else SSO adds and if they listen to the players who actually are giving constructive criticism, not the ones who are flailing around like children. Aside from that, I am an older player, playing for nearly 10 years now, so accepting this update is definitely a little hard for me (I'm still reeling from our old characters lol) but christ I'm not going around hating every single person who made their characters. This community just keeps getting worse and worse the more I watch.

I mean there can be a middle ground but not with how people are. And the more i think about it the more i realise it's just people being very shallow and individualistic but not in a self-reflecting way but "I can do whatever i want" kinda way. Putting ME first but it's not really you anyways. This update really showed people don't feel comfortable with looking like real people, they want to look like ig models, Kim Kardashian kind of figure etc. (not saying those aren't real people xd just it's extremely small prcentage that looks like that without surgeries and/or editing, expensive diets and traing etc) When i created my character i noticed that in me as well. I on purpose chose diferent body type than my skinny, white girl to get me out of this weird headspace that this is only good way a person can look and it's refreshing. Get out of ig, tiktok, go do your groceries and LOOK at how MAJORITY of people with no filters and editing look like, you'd be surprised how normally unperfect and diverse they look, and oh btw you are one of them :)

Since you asked how old they are: Most of them are 8-12. That’s how old. Those are also the people complaining that old sso is better when they were in some cases not even alive when the game was old like that. These are NOT the old players, the old players, like me, are very happy to see the game updated, and while the old horses are nostalgic- I can’t stand them anymore ngl. However I don’t care how old they are, it is not ok to hate on other people’s body types. It’s not people who have those body type’s fault that your body type isn’t there yet. I’m saying yet because it’s been confirmed sso is adding more. At 8-12 I would never have made those comments like that, and I’m really disappointed that people are behaving that way.

I actually love the new caracters the animations are way better then before. The only thing that i hate is the stirrups but that is just a small thing so it doesnt matter. And the horse progression ik love to! ❤

I personally find it ironic how all these people are showing such colours over body and face shapes, complaining about not being "represented"- yet these people think it's okay to berate those who were wishing for male characters to be added (regardless of story constraints, because there are several ways the Devs could go around that). I like the new faces and body types, it's a step in the right direction. Nothing prevents the Devs from making more in the future if they wish to.

A lot of the people who hate it also won’t let people like it, I have seen people say they like their character and they had people come at them. If people don’t like it, that’s fine. But not liking it does not give them the audacity to be such a rude, brat. They act like toddlers having a very wordy tantrum. (This isn’t to you don’t worry, this is just a general message, mostly to the people who did have tantrums full of rudeness.) Majority the comments to Sso is hate. Look, if you want sso to listen to your opinion. Maybe say it nicely? Say actual constructive criticism that is actually welcoming to read. They aren’t going to read comments that aren’t welcoming to read. If I worked for sso, and I got a big paragraph of rudeness, I would of never read it. The sso community is beyond me, and it’s just getting more toxic and toxic. I know someone went around to look at other peoples characters and if they liked them; they complimented them. What they get? They all ran away. Some I saw didn’t even put effort into making their characters good, and it seemed they were purposely making it ugly. No effort. I put effort into mine and I got my character looking snazzy. It isn’t hard, as long as you’re not bad at character making.. Good hair, good make up and good clothes should help. I have seen some crying for old old sso back like starshine legacy. Ok we go from the characters that are a step in the right direction back to crusty ugly giraffe stiff moving emotionless, eyelidless characters? The new ones actually look more alive. Our old character looked dead inside. Nostalgia, is all that old sso is. On a realistic side of things, it was ugly; it was old, and I bet if they kept it old sso all these years and for current day - they’d all complain on how it looks and sso would be a dead game.

I cannot agree with this video more, this is a clear statement and anyone who takes it to offense clearly belongs to the group of people that are being explained in this video. As Star Stable has explained before is that this is only THE FIRST STEP in this process. This IS NOT the FINAL product. I am not referring to all, I am referring to those who have the audacity to act in this kind of way. EVERYONE is dealing with the new characters right now, and yes it will feel odd and weird as we have had the other characters for such a long time but it isn't just YOU. There are many admireable things in this update, but as Star Stable said and as I have said in this comment, THIS IS ONLY THE FIRST STEP. We just need to have patience, there is no need to be hateful or violent against other players. Think about what you do before you do it, and if you're unsure..just turn off the phone, turn off the PC or laptop..just turn it off and sit in your own thoughts.

unpopular maybe but i actually love the update, its so much better than the other characters, and just because of the body types arent represented alot, doesnt mean they wont add them later (which star stable literally said they would do and there is spoilers). i never really cared about characters because i dont really roleplay i just do quests and races however, i get how people dont feel represented or connected to their charater anymore but what do you expect? its a WHOLE new character thats the whole point. Star stable should definitely have sorted out bugs and the stirrups, etc before putting out the update (especially since it was out early). And star stable knows this and is working on it, there’s going to be bugs. People discriminating against the body types is so so SO disgusting, EVERYONES different and the faces are “normal” or whatever they wanna call it. it would be so boring if anyone was “perfect” or “normal” and the same (like the old characters). People need to get over themselves, if you dont like the update, dont play it like no ones making you play star stable🤷‍♀️ or just ignore the character at this point. The update is beautiful and star stable put alot of work in it, like yes there’s bugs and problems but obviously there’s going to be because its a massive update and change. It’s NOT your problem if someone has a different body type than you, its not affecting you or harming you in anyway😂 get over it!

I agree with everything you've said! In my opinion, aside from the bugs I think the update is fine. Like it might not be exactly what you expected but sso will probably add to it. I think it's pretty ridiculous how much hate this update has gotten, like yes it's going to be different from our old characters, and i get if your annoyed about that, but people shouldn't go around being rude about people's bodies. i am actually really happy with the update because im very young and my body is still developing so the body shapes fit me quite well but i was online yesterday and i saw two girls make fun of a girl who chose the largest body type and my club that i was in really showed their true colors and im just so surprised that some people can bodyshame people and be racist towards people like ITS JUST AN UPDATE.im gonna be honest i wish it was 2017 again cause in the game back then people were so nice(for the most part)and supportive of everyone

I get that people are upset that their body types aren't there, mine isn't either, heck, my gender isn't even here, but Star Stable is already working on more body types. Some of us need to wait for ours and I get that it's annoying not being able to look like yourself right off the bat, but compared to what we had, this is a huge step forward for Star Stable. We had 1 body type before, now we have 6 and sso is confirmed to be making more so I'm satisfied personally. People can be disappointed and share their opinions that sso should have added more body types all at once because I agree, they should have held off longer so they could put out even more options, but what people should not be doing is making fun of these body types and being derogatory. These body types represent REAL people, just because it doesn't represent you does not give you the right to treat other people terribly. This update has revealed the true colours of some of the people in this community, at least now I know who to stay away from.

Even tho this video is from 6 months ago I really agree with you!! I don’t love the update but if you go and say that to sso the whole time- I mean sso tried there best. And no. If you body shame someone. Go of sso and don’t come back. Sso is meant to be an nice game and a safe place. But it’s getting ruined by those people. (Sorry if my English isn’t the best I’m Dutch)

I feel like some of the aspects of my character’s outfit that I liked before were taken away in some cases. Things like my crop top and my braids. I used to be kind of chubby and after losing about 30 pounds I’m still kind of insecure. It hurts to know that I feel insecure about my character too. I’m still glad they’re adding body types, but this community is brutal.

decided to watch this video since it’s been almost a year (wow!) since this update came out. i think most players had adapted to the new characters, myself included. i actually love it now! sure there are issues, (it’s star stable there will always be issues) but i think it’s nice. i remember when they first came out, everyone was calling the characters “chubby fat toddlers with chubby baby faces” or stuff along those lines. and although my BODY type is not represented, the “chubby baby face” is. and that sort of hurt. i know no one should be hurt or upset over a horse game for kids, but knowing how all of these people talked about my face shape, it took a hit. moral of the story: don’t be an asshole just because. it will hurt someone, even if it doesn’t hurt you.

yknow its really sucked playing w this community lately. i personally like the update, obviously its not perfect. and it will never be perfect. and this is coming from someone who has been playing since 2013. and for me with the body types, i personally like them right now. i have the skinny option and for me it represents my body because it doesnt have curves, and i dont have many curves, but i am still fit. and i understand why people are upset that there are not curvy options, but you have to realize, skinny people with curves have been represented in media since FOREVER. and for me, its very frustrating because i gentitically do not have curves. and in star stable, one of my biggest comfort games, seeing i can have MY bodytype in a game (which hasnt been very possible for me) is so amazing. and i understand feeling underrepresenting as it was just what i was talking about, but i feel like the people that are not being represented need to be patient and not take it to heart as much. because all of the negativity is going to the new skinny option and ive been seeing horrible comments about it and general sly remarks. i understand people are frustrated, but dont put down others to make yourself feel better. more bodytypes are coming. chill.

As much as I would love to say I am surprised, I actually am not. God knows how toxic the equestrian community is. But what shocks me is how much this way of thinking has affected these kids… I do believe 100%, that the equestrian community among with ballerina are the most toxic community when bodies are spoke about. I have been DENIED for half lease because I’m a medium size, mind you I am 60 kg for 164cm. I go to the gym and I eat in order to gain muscle. At first I used to be on the fence about the update, the bugs threw me off but I kinda liked it, obviously like you said, not everyone's body types arent there at the moment. Even my boyfriend plays SSO with me and he even agreed with me. There is way too much backlash and hate for an update that was supposed to be fun, inclusive and forward development for the game itself. I understand the frustration 100% but the community has been just so toxic and negative lately over even the smallest things!

In a way i wish they'd add more asian style faces, because my character's look is asian considering her name. But the ones we got work for now at least and I'm not mad about it, took a moment to get used to thats for sure

I asked people for their opinions instead of sharing my own and that was probably a good decision. I understand where people are coming from, they don't feel represented, they don't like the update, but in no way is it okay to act how people have been. I've seen negativity everywhere and I'm to scared to say anything about how I feel about the update because SOMEONE is going to disagree. At this point I dont have high hopes for the future of this community. 😐

I've played on a lot servers and while only speaking enligsh (because its the only language I know) I find myseld on other servers so that I don't have to read the global or say chat about the new body types and seeing people type to others how their character is ugly x-x. Just seeing people be toxic to each other at this point especially on sso is just sad...

Everyone is unique and beautiful body types doesn't matter y'all beautiful. my body type isn't there either, but I don't really care about it. It's sad ppl are doing that everyone is beautiful I've seen so many unique and special people on my server, but there is a major divide going on and it's chaos expectantly with little kids.

I feel like people are just so attached to this game on a nostalgic standpoint that that’s the only lens some individuals see it through. I understand missing how the game used to be, but whenever you continuously judge let alone begin harassing others for having the opposite opinion/body types- it just becomes ridiculous. I believe that the community has become a much bigger issue than the state of the game itself, and tbh I honestly like the character update. Its refreshing to see bigger body types represented in a game. They even said that “hey, we are working on adding more just stay patient.” And I’m not sure if it’s just because people are so used to seeing those unrealistic skinny body types that they’re upset, but it is NOT fair to hate on body types just because yours isn’t there. It’s disgusting really, and it’s disappointing that SSO had to even address the community’s behavior. I myself also play FPS games, league of legends- perhaps the most toxic games known to man and have never experienced this type of hate from a community, let alone a HORSE GAME. It’s just crazy man. I’m tired of this communities lack of understanding, empathy, and accountability.

I’m not going to make some huge rant; as I’ve done that already. I loved our old characters. But I love these ones potentially more. What I don’t think people quite get, is the fact that we can customize our bodies and our looks at all, is amazing. Some games don’t even let you change your skin color. It’s valid that people what their body types in the game, but they have no right to shit on other peoples. It’s disgusting that the body shaming and hate, and horrible comments from people has made it into the community. People don’t have to like the new characters, but they absolutely cannot take that out on other people, and insult them.

I thought the characters would entirely flop and that I would hate them and now I actually ended up really liking the character I created. She doesn't represent me in the slightest and yet I personally am able to enjoy her as she is. It's crazy to me that so many people from this community instantly start calling things ugly just because they may not represent the player themselves. A lot of critique towards the characters is very much valid though.

i have had my old character since i was 6, im 15. so 9 years, obv i like the old corpse looking characters more, but holy F*** im in love with my new character, i really hope they add muscular female type body's at some point so it can look more like me

I thought I would hate the update too. I was surprised it’s not that bad. I quite like my character but I’m pissed off that sso half assed it again with missing animations, empty promises and bugs everywhere. I’m most upset about how the clothing fits tbh bc it’s not fitting at all and adds so much unnecessary bulk. In saying that I wouldn’t think to go around and slam other people. I myself couldn’t imagine using a bigger model but I’d never question someone else for using them. I think it’s brave as fuck actually, considering all the hate going. It really is mind blowing and I’m glad you’ve spoken up with the passion that you have. The worlds seems to be progressing and then when this happens it’s like where did go? Just for show ig. People are all for fighting oppression until they’re the ones oppressed.

I am absolutely horrified of so much hate on SSO. I personally don’t love it, the beta update needs to get fixed but I wouldn’t go put out into the internet things like body shaming and types of stuff like that. I also think that just stepping away from the game a little to calm yourself down so you don’t go too far with your comments. This has definitely been a hard topic for me as a person who is struggling with an eating disorder, and I’m not trying to get into personal stuff. But thank you Amelia Dreambell for recognizing this, and the hate really needs to stop on SSO it’s getting to out of hand.

i got kinda used to the body types, altho i would prefer skinnier options too, but at the end of the day my character isn't based off me. She's her own original character who's a red head with grey eyes. However i wish they made the clothes fit better. If you take some newer jackets, sweaters, etc. and use it on the larger body type with boobs, it looks normal, but on the skinniest options the boobs that are ''drawn'' on the clothes from the front do not match the boobs position from the side, making the character look kind of weird from the front as the boob position is just..too down? I guess that remains my only problem since i dislike so many clothing options because of that now.

Tbh I love the new characters like I know that they don't have my body but they have my face shape and the hair looks amazing

In regards to the body type, you said there wasnt a body type to reflect your hourglass midsize shape, which is the same as me, but I chose the pear shape and I feel like it suits me quite well? Of course all bodies are different though but I thought I'd comment just in case you didn't know there is a curvy body type :)

I know you said that SSO is in "this weird medium" towards the end of your video. Like it's not triple A game and it's not really an Indie title. But, like... When SSO is charging 70usd for only 4 horses, verses that price getting RDR2... I say that they want to sell the game as if they were like RDR2 being a triple A game title, but like, in their position, they really shouldn't be pricing star coins so heavily. It's understandable that becoming a life time star rider is of a high price, and I think that it's fine. They expect those players to not spend as much money anymore since they get an allowance of 100sc's every Saturday, verses somebody paying monthly for star rider. So, shilling out 70-75 bucks to unlock the whole game forever seems fine to me. But with how inflated the prices are for SC's, you might wonder, right?

I totally agree 1000%, I saw someone say in my game that our character should be very skinny because we’re riding a horse all the time, like, anyone with any body type still rides and not everyone who rides is skinny, and in my game someone was like “I can’t wear crop tops because I have to hide my chubby belly” when they probably could be using the skinniest option rn and it’s absolutely awful to read those body shaming comments, it hurt too since I’m mid-sized/chubby and reading those definitely hurt, sso community needs to do better because it’s getting awful

My main problem with the body types that even the ones that spoiler alert… have been leaked to release in the future are literally two times larger than me. It makes me feel like Star Stable wanted to only include only marginalized body types and not everybody which makes their update being for inclusivity a little null. If Im being honest I was actually happy about the characters Im a flat girly with not many curves and honestly I can see the issue that the "feminine" parts are missing in the body types and the lack of options in body types I even saw a video on tiktok once where the creator was body-shaming the skinniest option calling it skin and bones when it wasn't even near that Im a skin and bones type of person and I can tell you that body type is nowhere near skin and bones

I understand that SSO is not a triple A company but that doesn’t change that fact that they’re charging triple A prices. You can’t charge this much for a game and expect the player base to not be critical. As for the character update on the other hand. My only problems with it are the insane amount of bugs and how rushed it all feels. I actually think the characters look cute. My body type isn’t even in the game and I don’t really care. I care about the fact that the game is barley playable right now.
