Very well done video. Just one thing....I do believe you're falling victim to the sunk cost fallacy as far as not blowing up the team because they don't have or control their future picks. Regardless of what they do, those picks aren't coming back. They're a sunk cost. Keeping a bad, aging team together in an attempt to devalue draft picks that you don't even own anymore is foolish. Whether the Nets get the number one overall pick next year or the twentieth pick has absolutely zero bearing on the Suns situation. Chasing the 6th seed next year just to save face will only devalue your meager assets more....as Booker and Durant will be a year older. Seems like Phoenix can do one of two things. Trade KD and Booker now, get how ever many draft picks they can, and start the rebuild immediately. Or they can ride it out, get blown out in the first round of the playoffs for another year or two while devaluing their only remaining assets, and then be the worst team in the league until at least 2032. And either way, their own draft picks are gone for good..
Beal trade really screwed them. He's high end role player getting paid like he's Jokic. I admit I thought they would get eliminated in 6, but I never thought they would win the series
Multiple teams got swept in the first round. At least the lakers and heat got one win and not many people had them winning a single game. Unlike the suns who a lot of people kept saying they’d win the championship or make a deep run at least
The primary problem with moving Beal is not his value or lack there of...it's the fact he has a no trade clause. You can't even conjure the thought to move him unless he gives the okay. So in actuality they're stuck with him unless he says he wants to leave.
The problem with moving Beal is his salary. I'm sure he would waive his no trade clause in a heartbeat to join a true contender. And every single team in the league would love to have him. But not for $50 million dollar a year. In fact, I don't think you'll find any teams at all that would want him at that number.
@whatcolorareyour6championships Yeah..... I'm not a huge Beal fan....but I think for maybe somewhere around $18m a lot of teams would want him. He's a good player who could help a contender. But I was responding to the guy who said it was his no trade clause that he felt would hold things up. I don't think that's relevant at all. It's his crazy salary that makes him untradable....
I remember the no trade clause from his Wizards days now that you mentioned but it had slipped my mind. The high salary AND no trade clause together is a killer combination like we've rarely seen.
@@bluedog424 ironically..most would argue he is on a contending team. IMO your point on salary isn't invalid; just the fact Beal still has the ultimate say in where he goes and for what pieces. If Phx wants young and contributing players in return for him instead of picks (since they have little control over their own picks over the next few years), Beal could veto it feeling it would leave the team he'd be going to barren (i.e. the Nets trade that helped put them in this situation). If they want older players to help win, he could veto it because he would want those same players as teammates on the new team. Yea $50M in salary is a huge part of the troubles as well. I'm not going to disrespect your opinion feeling it's not the most challenging aspect of a trade; it's your opinion and that's what sports talk is about. I would just say any and all parts of a contract are relevant as it would be foolish for agents, attorneys, and all interested parties to iron out every detail while also believing their work is irrelevant.
They're a game away from being bumped from the 1st round and continuously fall short because the FO can't or won't aquire star talent. Nothing to commend
@@konzzaif an owner was dumb to enough trade everything for Durant and Beal with no bench, there has to be at least one other owner willing to mortgage their draft future for Durant’s offensive boost.
Hilarious the league saw what raptors did and how Kawhi helped them with a championship. Yes Kawhi was huge for that team but people alwyas forget how deep that team was. Especially after they got Marc gasol at the trade deadline. TEAM ball matters.
Basically, raptors team that season it's mostly same I think like the season before when they got destroyed by cavs they just bring kawhi, green and gasol maybe
I am a suns fan, I watched the full regular season and just let me say I was fully expecting to get swept this badly on the first round. It was torture watching this team during the regular season idk how anyone in the media picked the suns to come out dominating one od the toughest team in the west for a 7 game series.
Booker has to force his way out. Durant has to force his way out. They both have to race to beat eachother out. Because soon as one leaves the team really won’t let the other out. 😂
Suns should get a decent PG. If they're running these same rosters next year then they should also consider Beal coming off the bench and have him close out games with KD & Booker. This way, KD & Booker can do all the scoring while their 2nd unit would have better scoring as well
Try to trade Nurkic to Wizards for Tyus Jones. or else send him back to Portland for Brogdon. (Trade works out. I checked) And then get minimum level centre from the agency or just trade KD at centre! 😅
I believe that you said their payroll was higher than 15 teams but while that seems like a nitpick, that is LITERALLY higher than HALF THE LEAGUE. Only way out is to convince a team to trade for KD. Ofc I can’t see any trade being made if the Suns aren’t paying most of the contract.
Trading KD to the Knicks is a possibility. He and Randle both have 2 years left on their deals, Randle's contract is a bit cheaper, and KD is better than Randle even at this point in his career. However, it's still a risk considering KD's age and his health, and the Knicks may wanna trade Randle for either a younger star on a cheaper contract (such as Mikal Bridges) or more depth. Idk about trading him to OKC. There are still tense feelings between he and their fanbase (his fault), so they may not accept him. Also, most of their players except SGA are either on rookie deals or small contracts, so they would probably have to give up a lot of them and some draft capital to match his contract, which I doubt they would wanna do. Also, trading KD would be unfair considering how Beal performed in Game 4. Oh, the irony of the Suns replacing an owner who was a cancer in their organization with an owner who is in over his head.
I don't get why people insist on sending him to well-organized teams in trade speculations. OKC and NY are fine without him. He would infect them with bad vibes and aura. Just ship him to Washington or any other non-factor team.
You trade Durant and rebuild. Which yes, I known, sounds insane because this team was a deep young talented team a just three seasons ago. This will probable go down as another cautionary tale of why having a strong GM is important, because owners almost always make the wrong decision. With a proper check on ownership honestly ask yourself if they had trade for Jrue Holiday instead and made minor tweaks would this team have been swept in the first round? I don't think so.
You left out the fact that, with the picks they do have, multiple teams have the right to swap. Three teams have swap rights on their 2026 first and two teams have a right to swap on their 2028 pick. It’s insane how screwed these guys are
OKC bas a treasure chest of draft capital that hasn’t been seen before. Utah isn’t that far behind. Is Phoenix in the worst shape ever draft pick wise? This could make the Boston / Brooklyn trade look pale in comparison
We saw how TWolves looked pretty average last season, and Gobert trade looked like a complete disaster, but they regrouped and now look like a force for years to come. I think Suns can do the same and have one more go at title next year. KD-Book are solid, but wing defence, center, and bench are all atrocious. Suns should definitely try to trade Nurkic and get rid of Vogel as it seems players cant play with him. Not utilising David Roddy and Royce Oneal properly was absolutely stupid. Only way James Jones can now redeem himslef is signing some hidden gems from free agency and compete. (Guys like Kelly Oubre)
It's crazy that they thought this would work. Having KD, Beal and Booker with no depth in a conference where Harden, PG, Kawhi and Russ with some depth exists. How do you expect to win if The Clippers aren't even favorites to get out of the West?
this suns team may gotten swept but lets get real, this suns team still has mega talent. Vogel may not be the right fit but to make the best of the Suns’ situation, it maybe best just to try again while Durant is still a top 5 player in the league.
I have KD as my username . It doesn't take rocket scientist to know what that means . Kevin Durant it's time to retire and take a nice trip to the barber shop .
Ishbia just doubled down on tne stupid and explained (him being a great basketball mind) that Suns dont need a point guard because they hsbe 3 star players. Always nice to see people gain no insight after failure. But to be honest, they sorta have to go all in because no one will trade for Beal and KD value drops year after year.
First they Gotta look at the rest of the league and realize what they actually need to beat the best teams..after coming to grips with the reality that they CAN NOT improve that that team…..either blow it up, find a way to trade Beal, if he doesn’t wanna leave trade book and KD and start over, just let Beal rot on the bench.
Great scorer great scorer great scorer. You mean Rebounds and Defense matter? Kevin Durant is a 7 footer who will only get you 6 rebs a game. PGs matter?
The only team in the Pacific division with a decent 5 year outlook are the Kings. I don't need to say anything about the Suns that's not being said; Warriors and Clippers core's are old; Lebron will be gone and do you expect the Lakers to win it all with AD?
They probably need to flip Durant and Beal. They aren’t wining anything with only Durant and booker they need a guard and a center. Honestly they might not be able to get much for either Beal or booker. I can see a stupid ass team like LA or a Lebron team that trades a lot of young assets for Beal
I say just get a new coach. Run it back. Become the oldest team next season. That Dallas championship team was fairly old. Y'all just panic and do what you would have done on 2k. 😂😅
I’m firing frank vogel and highering the old bucks coach and trading Bradley Beal for Cade and trading Jordan Goodwin and Josh okgie for Jordan Clarkson and trading jufuf nurkik for Chet if they say no I will give them like a 2-3 round pick so our lineup will be PGCade SGJordan clarkson SFdevin Booker PFkevin Durant CENTER Chet
