This happened to me once while I was cycling. I couldnt speed up properly at a downhill I wondered why and at the end I turned my head back and I was in shock beacuse I could have sweared I cyclied at a downhill but it was actually a uphill and a bit of research I found it to be an optical illusion like this.
Actually, yes this is an optical illusion The hill is slightly downward but due to surrounding layout it looks like it is an uphill. Here in India too there is a place in Ladakh known as Cyclops hills where one could see such illusion. These types of hills are known as anti gravity or magnetic hills .

There is a place in Ladakh similar to this , there is a big Stone in Tamilnadu which didn't even falled till now due to gravity , even there are some places in India where gravity doesn't work💪🇮🇳

In Ladakh, India ( near Kashmir ) there is a same place where cars go uphill and the place is surrounded with hills and mountains. The place is called "Magnetic Hills".

There's also a place in Kenya (Machakos County) where gravity behaves this way but on a large area and coincidentally there is a large highway passing through the area with heavy traffic all the time so you can imagine the chaos
