Lydia will always have controversy. She started her Channel extremely relatable. Now she's in a different place in which we are thrilled she's doing well. I think when it comes to her supporters which I've seen to be very diverse. Lydia tends to ride the fence of out of touch. But we need to remember this is Lydia's reality now... 🤣 It doesn't have to be everyone's lifestyle. I don't agree with everything but I enjoy the work and asthetic she puts into her videos. Lydia and Ali deserve their success. They've worked for it.

@@MinJi_Scarlett I mean, who in the right mind wants to be tacky? The irony is comically, you're right, because a lot of the time it's a classic situation of when people point the finger at others, there are more pointing back at themselves revealing colours they may not have intended to 😉

Oh, oh! I can help you with the magnolia tree (from the Southern US)! If it's one of the large varieties, the roots will branch out VERY far....and if you plant it too close to the brick wall, the roots could, eventually, damage it. Also, bear in mind that absolutely NO GRASS will grow beneath it, once it starts growing - just something to think about. I absolutely ADORE them, the flowers smell AMAZING, but they're best suited to the edge of the property, away from any buildings or structures, to avoid damage to those things.
@mtreiyer

Yes! I also live in the southeast US and everything she said - especially the the roots part! They will destroy your beautiful wall. So take time to research where in your yard it will work best ☺️

The man in the portrait… * please excuse my awful grammar, RU-vid comments aren’t really conducive to this kind of writing. Edward Thrompton was a quiet man. He spoke little, walked softly and smiled only at children. People in the village weren’t afraid of him, despite his rather dower appearance, in fact they treated him as a kind of unofficial mascot. They named business after him, sold characters of him at the summer fair, and even named the town center “Thrompton Square”. No one knew how long he’d lived in the village, you see, he’d simply been there when families began to returned after the first great war. He’d remained over the years, shuffling softly too and from his daily errands, sitting quietly in the old leather chair reserved for him at the local pub; and smiling, shyly, only at the small children who occasionally presented him with a flower or shiny rock from their mother garden. When Edward died, the whole town down to the last child attended his funeral, and when it was over they returned to the town, and to the pub, where they raised a glass to Edward. It had been a solemn affair, heavy with an unspoken grief, until that first glass was raised when the grocer said “He was a good man, Edward. He looked in on my son when he was in hospital after the war, sat there with him every day reading a book about bee keeping. A good man he was.” The towns people remembered the grocers son, he’d gone to war and learned to fly, but had been burned badly and sent home shortly before the war had finally ended. No one had known that Edward had sat with the young man in hospital, but one by one the townspeople began to share their own stories about Edward. How he’d brought groceries to a family when they’d fallen ill, delivered hand made Christmas presents to the children in the orphanage, and dropped off small jars of honey on the doorsteps of families who had just welcomed children or lost loved ones. Soon everyone had related a story about Edward Thrompton. Inspired the pub owners son decided he would paint the mans portrait and hang it above the old leather chair by the fireplace. There the painting hung for over fifty years as it and the pub passed from father to son, and was finally sold on to a new family who in turn sold the portrait. Time had moved forward and there were few people left who remembered the old man, until a young woman found the portrait in a dusty thrift shop corner and remembered her father’s stories about old man Edward Thrompton. She hung the portrait in her gallery and waited for right person to come and bring him home with them. The kind of person who would love a kind old man who spoke little, walked softly and smiled only at children.

Maybe you could plant the little oak tree in your future cottage's garden? I think these trees can survive in planters just fine and then you could re-plant them when you buy your dream cottage and grow a full oak tree there throughout the years.

The Painting.... His name is Reginald 'Reg' Winstead. He started out life as a child in the factories around Glasgow, and never got a chance to go to school. When he was 15, he was in the factory, and he fell and injured his back. Which is why he is stooped in this painting...by the way. While he was recovering, his kind, elderly neighbor began to teach him to read. Reg was a voracious reader, and soon, he won a place at a local university...! There, he studies Engineering and eventually develops and creates the equipment to replace the outdated equipment that caused his back injury. He made a fortune in the factory business and eventually retired to focus on encouraging Education in all people. He lived a long life, his third marriage was his longest, and his daughter took over his business in the late 20th century. She also nursed him in his final Earthly days, as their bond was powerful... He passed peacefully and his legacy lives on today in annually funded scholarships for early education. OK, so that's the story on the Man in the Painting...😊😊😊👍👍

Her life is in no way shape or form relatable to me. I am a different race, age, her home is double could be triple the size of mine 😀. But guess what I thoroughly enjoy watching her videos, why would I choose to invest my time being envious & full of hate watching someone that I perceive to be better than me absolute nonsense. Watching someone who is in every aspect my polar opposite is refreshing and kind of an escapism...what is meant for Lydia will be hers, what is meant for any other individual will be theirs.

Being from the southern region of the USA we plant magnolia in a prominent place because of their ornamental shape and distinct flowers (quite showy). Perhaps mid garden wall appropriately (spaced away from the wall). It would be spectacular and you could float flowering clippings in a crystal bowl?

The unassuming man in the painting is none other than Dr. Thurston Howell, III. He was a very infamous double agent, recruited by Winston Churchill, back in WWI to spy on the French. He was initially recruited because of his unique language skills. He went on to lead a very elite group of agents during the Cold War before being captured and turned by the French. That portrait was the only photo of him known in existence. It's quite a coincidence that you found one of the few prints left. I heard he could make a mean chicken Marsala and had a penchant for a good gin Gimlet before dinner.

The man in the painting used to be a gardener to a grand country house. He won lots of prizes for his flowers at the annual fair and many people came from all over to see his prize roses. He was secretly in love with the lady of the manor but she only saw him as a staff member. He had his own private collection of roses in a secret garden and all of them were named after her, his only true love. When he died she discovered his garden and realised he’d always been in love with her and she commissioned his portrait so she could always see him and be reminded of his love for her. Once they had all died the manor house contents were sold in auction and the portrait disappeared until one day Lydia found it and saw it for the treasure it is. The End.

Olaplex is the best hair care line I’ve ever used. I bought the whole set (minus 1 and 2) last week (because I’m relaxing my hair soon) and myyyyyy goodness! I have Afro textured hair and it made it so beautiful and soft.

This is such a materialistic, compulsive consumption channel that sometimes I get so guilty thinking about how I'm supporting this kind of lifestyle by watching. But truth is that I find watching this channel to be a fascinating exercise in rubber-necking. It's definitely a "going through the looking glass" kind of experience. And in an odd sort of way it reminds me to not buy things I don't actually need.

Well it's not compulsory to watch this channel and it's also not compulsory to buy what she is showing in her videos so it might be a good idea for you to simply go away, just because her channel is on RU-vid doesn't mean it's a free for all hate trolls to comment, build a bridge dear and get the heck over it

I so agree. I watch the channel occasionally. She's slick and polished for sure, but my goodness I do have a secret chuckle at her incessantly acquiring all that useless empty stuff.ITs like she has an empty hole within herself that she cant fill. She tries to be the epitome of posh but is actually naff.

I love love love they way you've done your hair in the beginning 14:23. It looks so bouncy and luscious, keep it up! it's giving young Brooke Sheilds. I also like like your new color balayage. it makes your eyes pop. ps. Ali was correct the doors of the Rolls Royce are called suicide doors. The door you were thinking are actually called butterfly doors.

Lab created diamonds aren’t appreciably less expensive than ethically mined ones. You can’t ensure them, and they have no re-sale value.

Great vlog! I use olaplex number 3 every week on a Sunday - pop it in in the morning and wash off with a toner treatment at night 👏 sometimes when I feel lazy I’ll leave it overnight. It’s been in my hair are routine for about 5 years now! My hair has gone from dry straw to pretty good! Usually I use kerastase for frizzy hair for my shampoo and conditioner ☺️
