I had TikTok for a few months and I felt it taking over. Scrolling like that is addictive and incredibly bad for my brain. So I deleted it. I really dislike short form content. RU-vid feels like settling in with a pal. So I stay here watching and uploading 🤪

What I enjoy most is watching people putting on makeup, particularly eyeshadows, plus blush, highlighter, and lips. You know, the fun, colorful stuff! 😂 And I’ll take pretty much any form of that I can get: new makeup reviews, GRWM, palette bingo…old products, new products, and everything in between. I tend to prefer mid length videos, like 15-25 minutes, but I also enjoy shorter videos and watch longer ones, although they take me longer to get around to watching! I enjoy when the focus is solely on the makeup, when the creator is talking about other stuff while doing the makeup, and anything in between. I really just love seeing a look come together with eyeshadow, cheek, and lips. One thing I’m particularly enjoying right now is story time and reactions while doing makeup videos. I adore stories, so hearing a story from the creator about their life or having them talking about something specific while doing a look, I really enjoy. Heather Austin has started doing videos where she reacts to Reddit AITA stories while doing makeup, and I’m obsessed! Drama that neither me nor the person I’m watching is involved in plus fun makeup?! Yes, please! 😁 As for short form/long form, I truly enjoy both, but different purposes. I go to RU-vid to enjoy watching looks get created, while short form, it’s more just scrolling, and it’s a lot more than just makeup. A lot of the makeup content I do get on short form platforms is rehashed, shorter versions of longer RU-vid videos, many I’ve already seen, so I just like (and try to watch instead of scrolling 😂) to support the creator. I’m more likely to fully watch a video if it’s a) short and b) not just a pure rehash. I follow almost no short form content creators, primary creators I also follow on RU-vid. Hope any of this helps! I just love watching you play with fun, colorful makeup, create a pretty eye look, and complete the look with blush, highlighter, and a lippie! 😁

No matter if it's new palette review, grwm, or palette collection. It's your personality i love, so I enjoy all of your videos 🥰 I must admit, and I've said it on a few channels already, that I'm quite sad that tiktok is taking over RU-vid. I much prefer it on here, but i completely understand that creating content for RU-vid takes a lot more time, and effort! I love them and they give me inspiration to play with my Cosmic Brushes palettes. It's a beautiful nude/neutral look you did in this video, it looks good on you! Ok, answers to your questions: My favorite videos of yours are: new released eyeshadow palette reviews where you show us the swatches & when you do a tutorial on the palette you're reviewing. Like you, I'm also crazy about eyeshadow palettes. And since I don´t have TikTok or Instagram I like to see a video here on RU-vid. Hi again Kerry! I can´t believe I forgot to mention which videos are my absolute favourites haha: Eyeshadow palette bingos :) It´s also really fun when different palettes are used, one shade from each palette. Do you like making videos like that? I love seeing how someone can make an eye look with shades they normally wouldn´t pick. It´s so inspiring :) Another thing I really like is comparison videos. Comparing different palettes, the similarities. Unfortunately videos like that are really rare. I hope you're staying with us here on RU-vid because I would really miss you if you stopped uploading

Hi Kerry! I haven’t bought any makeup since April! The only exception was Oden’s Eye and the Yucca palette. Nothing else! I love makeup still, but I’m burned out on new releases. Not to mention…. I have enough! I’m not on TikTok. I just don’t have time for another platform!😊 RU-vid and instagram are enough for me. But please don’t let that deter you from doing whatever is best for you. I found your channel with your 2022 palette declutter because I love those, but stayed because I love you!💛

I love palette reviews and GRWM. If you are super busy at the moment and needing a change, that is completely understandable. I am not a huge fan of TikTok, but I see a lot of creators going over there. So, i would follow you. In the end, you have to do what fits your lifestyle and your schedule, and do what makes you feel inspired. I wish you all the best.

My favorite content is eyelook tutorials. Just throwing that out there. I have pallettes that are not brand new. I look through content for inspo, which isn't easy sometimes, for my older pallettes. I adore a quick eyelook tutorial with already owned pallettes. That could be an idea for Tiktok content.

Hi Kerry! I am happy to see your lovely face! I vastly prefer long-form content. I try to stay away from scrolling because, for me, it becomes doom-scrolling. I'm not on TikTok but YT and IG short videos prove to be enough of a problem for me. I wonder if your fire for filming was dimmed because you were inundated by the enormous collection tour? Palettes upon palettes upon palettes... And maybe you're not as excited about new releases because you often receive your favorite brands in PR, so there is less for you to actually buy? Just me speculating. 🙂 A softer, neutral eye is great with a bold red lip. Thanks for hopping back on! I hope you can find your balance again, Kerry! Best wishes from me, always.

I totally get not being interested in many of the releases lately, but I find it refreshing. I need a bit of a breather, there are so many good indie brands competing for sales that it becomes a bit much sometimes. I have also been really interested in some Chinese brands, so this break gives me a chance to try more of those brands and catch up on the few I missed and see if I still want them. I am with you on TikTok I wasn't really interested in the longest time, and I downloaded the app to view the PLouise November Budget Box (which was one release I had to have), and at the same time I found TikTok shop...that was it, now I have found more videos that jive with my way of thinking. I'm not on all the time, but sometimes I go. P.S. if you stop creating content, I would miss you! 💕💝🤗

I really don’t like TikTok I don’t know why, cause I enjoy short form content. I just rather watch it on RU-vid or instagram. Actually uploading shorts on YT is also good for the algorithm for your longer videos, it all plays together. I also think that editing and producing short form content is way faster and easier than longer formats, especially if you don’t talk and just play music. I really think you’ll enjoy doing content like that. There were a lot of releases I enjoyed lately. But I feel like it’s just way to much! I’m really overwhelmed lately, I just hope that brands stop releasing so much. What is something you enjoy doing besides makeup? Maybe you have other passions that you could combine for some exciting long from content video. I really enjoy watching and doing content like that. Like the Robert welsh ghost story’s and makeup. I really love stuff like that! Maybe that’s something you’d enjoy too. I really enjoy your content and I definitely would miss you if you’d stop posting.

@@kerry_k I just don’t get TikTok 🙈😅 but I think reels or YT shorts are basically the same, aren’t they? The great thing with short form content is you can just post it on all 3 platforms, you’re basically recycling them 🙈 You also could do gaming inspired makeup/ GRWMs. I really do want to film a look where I recreate my bfs baldurs gate characters makeup 🙈 it just looks so nice, so I want to were it myself 🙈😅 I think it would be a lot of fun if you’d do something like that. It definitely would be refreshing.

I never watch TikTok, as short form content has never been of interest to me. I’ve not bought any makeup at all yet in 2024 & I’ve really not missed it. I’ve got makeup fatigue. It’s pretty much all been done before. I barely wear any makeup unless I’m filming & I’m questioning my sanity spending so much money on palettes I use once & just store away. I’m trying to focus on other life goals (saving for travel, retirement etc). I’m enjoying just relaxing in my spare time. Playing music, reading & watching movies. All things I barely had time for whilst working full time & trying to keep my channel going. Will I come back? I’m really undecided…xx
