I was born there too. I also remember your family greenhouse. My mom and I knew your grandma and uncle from attending local auctions. I was hoping The Castle would re-open as a theater. What a shame that we lost both of our movie venues -- Castle and Sky-vue. I'm from the Hagerstown & Economy areas. But my mom was born and raised in New Castle. I'm glad Cris the Girl enjoyed Indiana.
Thank You for taking us back in time. It's very interesting how similar it all is my hometown. My best friends father also was the projectionist at our theater. We saw the Godfather about every night for weeks. Also Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It's great that you got to see your family and show all this to Cris. Be safe busy friends..lol

You are lucky Jay that your hometown theatre is still standing. Mine are all gone. There is something about movies and music that play such a big part in our young lives and make it so much fun to relive those memories! Our huge stand alone theatre called the Cina Capri, closed in 1997. It was tore down to put up a high rise building. I saw Star Wars there along with many other classics when I was a child! The last movie shown there was Titanic. I was able to take my daughter to see it before it closed and we both have that wonderful memory to keep with us forever! Many years later a local theatre owner rebuilt the Cina Capri as part of a 24 screen multiplex. Not quite as grand or as memorable as the original, but a worthy effort. My daughter and I just watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind for her first time. Movies hold the key to the wonder and imagination that we all have as children and you can always unlock it again just by rewatching the movie or seeing the old theatre you saw it in! Thanks for pulling those memories out of me! You're the best!
Jay, I always enjoy seeing vloggers hometown videos. This was a very precious video man. You have a rich history where you're from. Cherish it and continue to cherish it. So cool you got to share your roots with Cris. I forget the Indianapolis is such an underrated city. I remember going to downtown Indy a couple times when I was in the marching band when my school did marching band competitions at the former Indianapolis Colts stadium. I would love to spend more time in Indy. Awesome vlog man. You and Cris have a good one. Can't wait to see the next one.
My dad was born in Indianapolis, they moved to California when he was 10. He is 85 now. We visited relatives there when I was around 7 and they took us on a van ride around the Indy 500 racetrack. I still remember it! Dad still never misses watching the race on TV. You definitely need to watch Cars. So well done. My grandpa was a milkman when they lived there. My great uncle also worked for a dairy. I remember eating some great ice cream when we were there!

My Son graduated from Shenandoah in 2016, and we lived in Henry County for 18 years! I live in Lafayette now…, and my Son lives in Indy… It was nice to see your hometown and hear your stories!! I recognized a few of those places too!! I enjoy your channel!!

Hey there Jay and Cris. Great to see my hometown on RU-vid. I live not too far from Speedway. In fact, there used to be a barbershop across the street from the track where I used to get my hair cut. And I know right where that Muffler Man is, too. Every time I see one of those now I think of It Chapter 2 🙂. Anyway, glad you had a good time here. I'm hoping to be in your neck of the woods soon. I've been watching you for awhile, didn't know you were originally a fellow Hoosier! I lived in the Tampa Bay area when I started watching. Thanks for the quick look at the Indy 500. I've got lots of good memories there!! I loved the "whine" of the cars as they flew past. I remember being there the day the 200 mph speed was broken-exciting stuff!

Ours in Culver sadly is still on the list .. you'd think it would b from the out of staters, but alas. Yay.. the 500 is amazing i can't wait to see Cris reactions in your future vlogs in our home state... you should take her to Indiana Beach in Monticello... lol.. they must have opened some streets to monunent circle.. It only had 3 of the 5 when i was there for the indiana comic con , hoping to go in it when we go for horrorhound on their saturday in August...

Mr Tampa was a man who thought he was a loner, but he knew it couldn't last, Mr Tampa left his home in Indiana, for some of that Florida Grass...it's always nice to get back to where you once belonged!!

I was born in Greenfield and was a projectionist at the Greenfield Village Theater in the late 70s. My dad retired from Chrysler in New Castle, and our son and his family currently attend church in New Castle. I moved to Manatee County Florida in 1984 where I became a firefighter. Now we live in Suwannee County Florida by Live Oak.
This is amazing I’m glad you caught the video and shared this. When we moved to Greenfield the village theater was our main theater. I saw Jurassic Park there and the sandlot, dumb and dumber. So many classics.
Very cool. Your hometown isn't too far from me. I was born in Dayton ohio. Grew up in Preble County Ohio which is just down the road from Richmond Indiana. Maybe 30 minutes away. And yes, Jacks donuts and the Tiger Tails are the best!

I was born in Indiana myself (Seymour) and we move to Florida when I was three. I currently live in Southwest Florida in a small town that is located in Hendry County. Thought that was interesting. Nice video Tampa Jay.

First, given were New Castle is, have you been to the Dayton Air shows and Museum of the Air Force? It's funny how the Tampa Bay area has 3 major airports while Miami and Orlando, respectively have one, not counting Ft. Lauderdale! Finally, nice to see family again!
