but whats worst is its not even death, just as the god warrior likely said “we will cease to exist”. They not even find themselves a part of history anymore like any other people close to their death, I would say they slowly being erased from existence.

Oh damn, I didn't even notice, I did expect at least one of our Icathian champs would be mentioned, but I didn't noticed that part of the dude's name. I guess he's purple and seven-eyed because of void-taint then, seeing as this story is set many normal lifetimes ago.
It really feels like a story wrote by a book writer. Not saying other Riot's work is bad, it's fkin awsome actually, but the way this one was written really made me feel like I'm reading some kind of old-fashioned fantasy book. And I seriously felt sad at the end of it. I can't even describe how awsome work Riot is doing with LoL's lore.
Man Necrit, you never fail to give these stories a life they never have on the page. The writing recently has been amazing, and this bit especially moved me. I felt the pride and courage Jax inspired in Axamuk. I felt his horror when the God Asended came crashing upon their ranks. His overwhelming fear and the weeping in retreat. I truly felt their inhuman strength when bodies And heads were being thrown like pieces of exploded vegetables. I knew Jax had to be hiding so much pain when he let Axamuk stay, but it shows us Jax values choice above everything, even having a single companion to live through the end of the world with. Im so glad we finally know more about the void, and Jax especially. Being so old, its nice to see his existence be kept the same, yet be given true humanity so he isn't just a living meme anymore. 11/10 video, rewatched parts over and over. Will rewatch again.
So... the Icathians brought The Void to Runeterra?! This is... the worst that someone in the lore could do because of their wish for freedom and vengeance...
So, does this mean that Jax was able to take on an Shuriman ascended even before the void corruption? And he had 2000 more years to hone his skills after that. In that case he might be on the level of Nasus and Renekton right?
They dropped a mountain on him, Jax executed him, like the guy above me said. The story where "Jax killed an Ascended" is overhyped, like most legends irl.
For real, 343 Guilty Spark is hands down one of the best missions in all the fps games i have played. The reaveal of the flood is soo good and so well made, whit all those little hints and "Easter eggs" before it.
That ending always gets me, the way he just slowly fades, little bit little his identity, his memory fading. It's so sad how he just goes... my.... and bam, nothing..
TLDR version: Jax fights alongside a bunch of Icathian Warriors to free themselves from the Shuriman rule and screw everything up by opening a void portal
I even listened to the Video story.. it was indeed only about Fighting till they screw up and opened the Void Portal.. nothing else happened.. funny part was that Jax likes Eggs.. so I can guarantee your that it was like 10 mins preparing for war 20 mins normal fight 10 mins fighting and doing something wrong and opened Void Portal which voidl creatures came out and killed everyone and AXAMUK VAR-CHOI KOHARI ICATH’OR is the one speaking.. he forgets his name bit by bit even not remembered why he got the tattoo that remembered his name and pride ..
TLDR LotR: A group of midgets go throw a ring into a volcan to save the world from a dark lord. Yeah, you can shorten the story, but there's a lot there that you miss if you skip the story.
The process of his name and meaning and identity being destroyed vaguely reminded me of natives here in Canada. It's surprising how powerfully it hit, good job on the lore team.

i think that there is two types of voidborns ones that are originally born from the void itself (kha, velkoz, cho, kog,and reksai,baron and malzahar's voidlings) others are creatures corrupted by it (like the hawks and the lama from kai'sa's comic,rift scuttle,malzahar,and voidspawns from the zz'rot iteam),true voidborns when they first come out from the void they lose their original form like shown in the artworks but eventually they take their form again and form a unique exoskeleton depending on what they consume and how fast they adapt also they lose the purple coloration the more time they spent outside the void like kog (green color as adaptation to camouflage in the jungles) and chogath who adapted a rocky like skin based from his artwork...but the most dangerous void rifts are the ones in the deep sea because the sea itself thrive with life and the void there will never starve and it seems that not only animal life forms are affected but plants too like the seaweed in nami's comic.

The ending made me cry... So well written - the best one yet if you ask me. This is why I always loved just chilling in my room listening to Necrit's stories... Great work by bringing it to life!!
You know, after seeing Axamuk being erased from existence and forget his entire name, I was in deep sorrow towards him and value to never forget who I am or my name.
I revisit this story from time to time. Maybe about twice a year. Its very rare that a piece of writing, especially short fiction, grips me so intensely and inspires me so much. The idea of someday writing a story like this is what keeps me going as a writer. Bravo Grahm Mcneill

The shurimans knew what it was does that mean they actouly once fought the void and won??? Also how can that bird know that you gets undone which means if the void gets removed you become remade?
Saijax is Jax for sure- he eats eggs, he is recognized as a master of all weapons, and he did get hurt badly by something different (probably the void) which can explain how jax became a void human figure, and explains how he is still alive. This story was amazing, thank you necrit!

I must say, since i started watching your vids about 5 months ago, you have come a long way. The story-telling theme was a fantastic idea, and gave a lot of power to it. This is by far my favorite story. You never cease to amaze, as do the writers at Riot.
The price of victory was far to great for Icathia not only did they lost their home and unleashed the void upon Runeterra they lost their sense of self and that is truly horrifying.

I think Graham McNeil may have pulled on his experience writing Warhammer novels in this story :'D His description of the pavilion and the effects of the magic taking place there sounds like something straight out of a 40k novel, on a ship just before the Geller Field fails and the entire ship is flooded by Demons.

Having been to 4 wars prior , saijeks speech made it hard for me to hold my tears . I thought i was done being scarred by it . The author was so freaking close to describing what I can remember of these wars . I am from gaza strip , I gave up on what made me who I am , embracing the hardships might be the answer ,thx necrit that was a nice rollercoaster for me .

This was an amazing story! I was wrapped into it entirely, and loved every minute. However, it was when it ended that it struck me the hardest. As soon as it was over, I felt a sudden urge to bawl. It only lasted for a second, but man, what a great story.
Given that we know Azir’s ancestors were essentially expansionists that built their empire on slave labor, I wonder how much time passed between this story and Azir’s rule. One interesting note is this story implies that Ascension is more common than Nasus, Renekton, and Azir’s lore led us to believe. Each Shuriman army has a host of Ascended Warriors. Were Nasus and Renekton the only Ascended left by Azir’s time?
I may have a love hate relationship with the actual game, but still the lore has been top notch. This was one of the best stories of the cost of victory I heard.
Man what a feeling such a battle mist be. Walking up there with pride only to realize what massive shit you've gotten yourself into. And the last thought going through your head being that you have to be brave as you are being burnt alive without even having been able to strike once.

Isaac That makes sense, this story was when the void took over Incathia, which was a very long time ago. Those warriors were probably the previous generations of shuriman ascended
