I've been seeing a lot of the same question in the comments so, I'd like to explain my reasoning behind the creation of Impel Down and the Fishmen’s involvement! But to do so I will have to address some *MAJOR SPOILERS* So everyone who hasn't finished Egghead please wait and come back later on! *SPOILERS BELOW* Okay, so why do I believe the fishmen built Impel Down? Well, to start, I don't necessarily believe they constructed the prison entirely, but were simply the only capable of converting the tower. Mostly because without them the idea makes absolutely no sense. First, let's start with the immediate faults in the theory, If we assume the castle was constructed pre-flood then it's an awfully strange for the only entrance to be at the very top.. and not only that, but if it was there when the flood/storm came along then the entire building should have been entirely flooded with ocean water. And unless they built it to be 100% sealed and waterproof, then the tower would need to be sealed and then drained, and specifically in that order. And if there was in fact an entrance or Door somewhere on the bottom that would also need to be removed and resealed to prevent leaks from the water pressure on the ocean floor. So... the only ones capable of converting the prison we now know as Impel Down would be the Fishmen, whom we know were already being enslaved at the end of the void century. They would be, if not the only ones capable, certainly the best choice to reconstruct an under sea monument. Sealing it, draining it, and constructing a new entrance at the top all without a single issue! Sorry I didn't include this in the video! I didn't really want to spoil anyone not caught up on the Manga, especially when it's such an awesome reveal! And the difference between them making it and converting it was really a mute point, especially given that neither theory has been confirmed yet and the possibility of spoiling. So please if you have any counterpoint to my analysis then please tag it as *SPOILERS* and hit enter a few times. Please and thank you!
Absolute cooking as always. The idea of Arlong becoming the next Fisher Tiger and putting his morals aside to free humans is such an interesting concept
@@TheCrapCafe_ fisher tiger never climbed the red line the main problem is the revolutionary army should have saved him when they raided the place after all koala knows about arlong and even learned fishman karate from them the could be in a prison in east blue like buggy went into the grand line so he was not captured in east blue.
The idea of Arlong being enslaved in Marie Geoise could explain why he might not have been shown even after Oda decided on how to reintroduce him. Oda has been pretty secretive with most CD families up until now, seemingly because of the Gorosei and Holy Knights, so maybe Arlong is personal “property” of a significant family.
@@TheCrapCafe_imagine if the completion of Nami's overarching character arc would be to save and forgive him after seeing him subjected to the very thing she learned radicalized him in the first place.
I can see something totally dark like Arlong glaring at Nami as she is freeing slaves and before he can finosh saying something like "all you humans are alike, trash, monsters" she unlocks him and cuts him off asking where the rest of his crew is, that even he doesnt deserve this. Then arlong breaks down in rage and tears, asking why and revealing that during their food shortage, some of the dragons decided to eat the fishman. Since they were 'just fish'
You sold me on the idea, from what I remember Fisher Tiger hated humans too but didn't want to pass that hate on like the queen wanted so this slave rebelion could be the catalyst for Aarlong to come to the same realiosation.
It's a great opprotunity for Arlong to Solidify Tiger's Legacy!! And Hody Jones who acted as another version of Arlong is an example of the hatred that's already been passed down!!
I really like this theory. It would also make Arlong a nice mirror of Buggy who also gained a following of prisoners he helped escape. Only Arlong would actually have been the one responsible instead of just accidently gaining most of the credit.
Let me guess, you saw the comment on a Mugiwara no Goofy video that said "The people of Elbaf are gonna be like 'They're eating the gods, they're eating the cats!'" You tried imitating it elsewhere, thinking you would also get internet points. Then you completely mangled the joke trying to fit it into a different context.
Sheesh my dream final war matchup. Arlong bb side vs bellamy sh fleet. Arlong vs luffy rematch. Bellamy chooses to follow the right man fights as luffy. Arlong still full of hatred. Bellamy screams dont you have a dream??? Flashbacks of sabody park and sun pirates. Maybe switches sides to fight with jimbei vs a big player
You have no idea just how long I've been waiting to see Arlong! Even when he kept getting name dropped in Fishman, I was waiting for him with baited breath. Ain't shown up in side panels since, so that has GOT TO MEAN he is about to come back into the story! This is the villain I have always been the most nervous about his come back. I'm ready to see Arlong 2.0 an Arlong mega-evolved.
The idea of Nami and Arlong interacting again intrigues me. She has progressed a lot since the start of the story and this could be such a powerful moment
I think Hatchi was covering his mark not because it was recognizible as the slave mark but because it had now became a symbol linked to his fishman heritage (the sun pirates and the arlong pirates) and at the time Hatchi was trying to hide the fact that he was fishman and a wanted pirate. Not saying that the mark hasn't been recognized by the world governament, but the reason why Hatchi was hiding it is more simple. Also another main thing, Impel Down is only for criminals caught in the Grand Line, not the other 4 seas. So Arlong's absence from Impel Down can be explained with him just being sent to a random prison or executed off screen. Though yeah, I too think Arlong has been enslaved because of what he tried to do on Cocoyashi villagge reversing the fishmen - humans "natural" relationships of owners and slaves
for the next theory, id suggest taking a closer look at Heracles. Theres something up with him For inspiration; there are enough pieces of evidence to suggest he could be a Noland descendant and/or Killer's father (P.S if you go down the Killer route, keep in mind his birthday is february)
Nice theory once again. I would also love the idea that the revs setted him free in their recent raid in Mariejois, along with the other slaves, just so that he can see Koala again in kamabaka.
I really love this idea- I know there'll be a second Impel Down breakout at some point, for the simple fact that Bon Clay has to reunite with Luffy at some point, but this lays it out really well! I also think there's going to be a 'Marineford 2.0' in the form of a battle over Hachinosu, as well- I think Blackbeard is going to try to execute Garp and start a war, because in his mind, he's the only one who actually 'won' at the first Marineford. Would love to see your idea come to fruition!
I think this video produces a bunch of interesting leads but I'm not convinced they all connect together. I can see an Impel Down 2.0 & later a Marie Geoise assault & liberation. Also, who is going to convince Arlong that he needs to save humans aswell? I'm struggling to find a good motivation outside of just mirroring Tiger.
Expansion on the theory: he will reencounter Koala at some point during the breakout, maybe as the catalyst to him changing his mind from freeing only fishmen to freeing everyone
MAN you cant get my hopes up like that, if arlong had an entire ideological epiphany as if he was being guided one last time by fisher tiger to move on and carry the mantle as a liberator than that would be it for me, it doesnt get more pure than that
One thing I find kind of stupid about the Hatcchan cover story is that the reason he wasn't taken to prison was because he escaped the navy ship, rather than what would have been a much more obvious reason for him to have evaded navy capture, being the fact he was the only Arlong Pirate defeated under the water so there would be a plausible reason for the Navy to have missed him
u know now that I think of it, arlong also seems to have a soft spot for little girls. Starting with koala then nami. Even tho he still did horrible things, it seems like he still held some kindness. Maybe his soft spot comes from his memories of protecting is own little sister when they went thru it at a young age?
Amazing! I fully support this theory. I see this occurring in one of two ways: 1) Arlong is broken past his limit and asks for help from Humans. Resembling the moment Nami asked Luffy for help. 2) Humans step up, without being asked, to protect Arlong & the other Fishmen from a terrible fate (maybe the humans die in the process?). Showing Arlong that there are humans out there that want to protect him and all Fishmen, which gives him the courage to lead the breakout. Maybe this human(s) could be a significant character from the past, like Bon Clay? Or the human(s) are new characters that were influenced by Luffy in some way. Like, maybe they were apart of the first impel breakout, but didn’t succeed in escaping? They were transferred to the celestial dragons to replace the slaves that had been injured or killed during the assault by Sabo and his team? Now, I think both options can be achieved through this, if Oda takes it down a darker path: The Celestial Dragons have ordered for the Fishmen to start being killed, so they can be utilized as food, due to the dwindling rations.
This is a really fun theory and definitely would make sense with the foreshadowing. My only flaw with the theory is that I believe Hody Jones was sent to Impel Down and I don’t think they need him as bargaining chip.
I hadn't pickec up on Krieg's return, so that was a nice surprise, especially that he's on Blackbeard's side, so we know we're going to fight him soon. As for Arlong's redemption, for him to be truly redeemed, he has to recognise that what he's done was horrible and actively try to be better, and then there's the big one: He has to meet Nami again, face what he put her and her village through, and feel genuine remorse, because if he only frees other slaves when he's freeing fishmen slaves, it gives the vibe of being a spur of the moment thing, rather than him turning over a new leaf properly. Without that, there's a chance Arlong will simply use his new fame to set himself up as Buggy has, living off his own hype (but being admitedly powerful) and letting his fanatical followers (the humans) take the brunt of casualties in battle.
It would be ironic, that for all of Arlongs taunting and tauting of superiority and strength, theyd be stuck underneath, rotating the wheel that moves the ground for Celestial Dragons.
If this is true, I'm just astounded by Oda. To use a Nezumi lookalike and even create that panel to connect things behind the scenes is just insane writing
Also this could set up odas punishment of the celestial dragons...without it being at the hands of the good guys...arlong simply goes on a rampage to give his fellow fushman enough time to escape (with cp0 being unavailable do to its members being incapacitated, dead , awol, and spandom being worthless trash ) the dragons are currently at there most vulnerable at the moment and arlong is still vengeful at heart, so the best way to close him out is pulling a fisher tiger...now this will lead to his death and sacrifice or the revolutionaries saving him .
Great video. This might be a crazy stretch, but given your assumption that Arlong was bribed or used as a cover for the WG, what if they assigned Arlong to Cocoyashi village SPECIFICALLY? What if the WG found information about something or SOMEONE in Cocoyashi? Obviously a stretch, but what if there’s a chance?
the idea of fishmen building impel down can be disputed with vegapunks news of the waters rising, impel down was surely built on what was the surface. it would explain why the base is bigger to originally fit more prisoners
Good theory, but i think aarlong takes buggys place in the new prison break arc (which supports the idea of him becoming the hero of the prisoners/slaves just like buggy did at impel down) and doflamingo will be taken to mg for execution and interogation and takes crocodiles place
Theory aside (which I'm totally down for btw), this does raise the point about what will we see of the slaves freed from Mariegeoise at the end of the story? Like they could be off screen freed by the rev army, but will Oda miss the opportunity to make a very interesting b plot?
It would be so good if this happened but honestly I feel the one hole in this theory is the fact that we just saw in the reverie arc loads of slaves being freed and literally no sign or sight of arlong. I feel like the ship for arlong to be this involve has sailed. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on this
@sagarvarsani7367 Let's not forget that the revolutionaries broke in to "declare war" not to fight one! I'm certain they'll be back in the holy land. And as I mentioned in the video, King, Queen, and Weevil should all be on their way there now setting up another conflict
It makes sense that Queen is kept there in Mary Joa. If the final war breaks out and The Straw Hats fight at Mary Joa then Franky could accidentally find Queen and maybe there will be a father son moment. It didn't happen on Onigashima.
solid theory and well explained, but your vocal cadence could really flow better. it might only bother me, but now that i’ve noticed the way you stop each part of a sentence, i can’t ignore it lol
great theory but i did wanna point out Impel Down probably instead of being built by fishmen, it was probably built on normal land. We know the sea levels been rising
Considering the new information regarding the sea level rise, I don’t think Fishman slaves were used to build Impel Down. It’s more likely giants helped to build it. Then again, I don’t know how tall the prison is, so it’s possible there was a team of Fishmen building an underwater portion.
Well the The fish men not going to impel down doesn’t make sense because vasco shot (a member of the black beard crew that was in impel down) is a fish man so that doesn’t really work, I think there’s no fish men because thier are like two fish men pirates in the world
We still don't have full details on their lineage but Vasco and Catarina both seem like they could be Human-Fishman Hybrids like Dellinger! They maybe recieving slightly different treatment due to that
I don't think arlog will be redeemed. We, as readers, knows why he did what he did. But, for me, he is beyond redemption. He can't be redeme 'cause he doesn't think he is wrong to begin with
That's a great question! But they didn't focus too much on the slaves held there, and after seeing Kuma's flashback I'm confident the Revolutionaries are goind back to free every single slave! So maybe thats when the focus will shift over to him!
Only 9 minutes into the video, but it sounds like you have the same theory I do. In the same way we don't see any women aside from Catarina Devon in Impel Down prison. I strongly believe that most if not all women are also sent to Mary Geois
Perhaps the celestial dragons have arlong locked up drawing undersea maps and sea current maps etc so they can find the one piece and namis gonna be the one to save him
Yo man I have been thinking about this The Cover story going on about Yamato what if the missing people got caught by Big Mom's Children who fell from the river we never got to know what happened to them
I've been trying to get to the bottom of that mystery as well! I'll have to look into Big Mom's crew didn't even consider them as a possibility! Great Catch!!
I don't think Impel Down was built by fishmen, I think it was already a structure built probably by the ancient kingdom (maybe as a temple of Sun God Nika or like in the story of Tower of Babel) and then later it was sunk just like the rest of the world
I cut part of my reasoning from the video, but even if we assume it was built prior to the flood and just happens to align almost perfectly with the sea level, we also have to assume that it was built to be entirely waterproof!! And if it wasn't, then the entire 200 meter castle would be filled completely with sea water, again requiring the use of Fishman slavery to drain the water and seal out the water. Both are possible, but both require the use of Fishmen slavery. So it was a null point for the theory.
10:09 the shadow looks like 😮Luffy I could be wrong but I don’t remember ever seeing luffy as a baby and luffy remembers the sign on Hancock back even tho he is a dummy and might remember things unique to luffy but he remembers nonetheless and oda said that we already met luffys mother and boom, we know oda loves his shadow soluettes!!!! Connecting boa Hancock and luffy and ik it’s a theory out there with much more evidence to those theories and also dragon why is he considered the most dangerous criminal? Knowing he’s garps son and him knowing about the gods knights and saying he sees no justice in the marines. I could be off but I watch a lot of theories abd rewatch and reread one piece!! Luffy could have been a slave or celestial dragon and escaped when fisher tiger stormed the holy land? Dragon knows inside info and could’ve been there in the background with fisher tiger Cause even as strong as he is that task is a big one even for one as strong as fisher tiger and when who’s who asked Jimbe about the nika and he scowled and deflected the whole time?
