Being a DQ fan in the west is rough. I'd really like to get more involved with the series and have the older games be more accessible on newer hardware, but nope. Square only seems to care about Marvel and Final Fantasy. Love the video btw. And Happy New Year!

This is literally one of the world’s biggest and most important franchises and it could not be shit on more in America. Imagine if Mario Odyssey 2 got overshadowed at E3 by DC Superhero Girls.

Idk why dragonquest is so ignored. There is so much variety in the main series alone that a good amount of people could find a game they liked, without even counting the spin-offs. I've introduced my friends to dq games and they love them. It makes me sad bc this is my favorite game series and I don't really know anyone who's into it or even heard of it...

No one should expect to hear dq12 news for a while but by the end of 2022 we should hopefully get some announcement on dq treasures and a global release date on dq10 offline

DQ11 was the first Dragon Quest game I ever played. It was, without a doubt, the best video game I've ever played. DQ11 got me hooked on the series, the story, the gameplay, the characters (Sylvando is best character, period) everything was just perfect. Looking forward to when DQ12 finally comes out, I have a feeling it is going to be epic.

I heard that the main story for XII is already written. Whatever that mobile slime game was had me laughing so hard. Right now I can't wait for III HD-2D. I plan to do a playthrough of that on my channel where it will be the definitive version of the switch playthrough of III I did 8 months ago. That playthrough has voiced script that matches that of VIII and XI where the hero speaks but his name isn't brought up. I want to see its release date next year as Xenlon theorized in my playthrough. It will have a reworked script and above all, HD video console capture with a mic to voice the lines.

Square was too busy pushing their shitty Marvel live service and other stuff no one asked for.

As a pc only gamer it hurts I can only play 11 and some side games thankfully there’s the phone versions but damn put the rest of the series on steam like final fantasy

i dont think we are goin to see much from dragon quest 12 this year at all, as it sounds like its goin to be more, then a fan can even expects at all, but i think i can see dragon quest 3 remake end of this year, since they can more easy build the game, thanks to references they can take from the original game and all that, and alsol i think that triangle strategy comming out the first month i think i hear, and because thats out then there is more time more time on dragon quest 3, that has like simmilar art style and like that, and as it seems for now, the only thing a true fan can do is wait, wait and do what they can do, be it playing older dragon quest, other games, or what ever they do, or what i have done, create storys that are more or less inspired by the dragon quest series, and hope, hope that all will end well

You do know that it is commonplace to hire development staff even when a game is nearly complete, right? SE hiring staff does in no way mean that it's very early in development. I do think it's going to be a 2024 release, but just don't assume that games are years off simply because they're hiring staff.

I’m dying to play 12 or the remake. Just finished replaying DQ 2 on the switch and finished DQ builders #1 Downloaded 2 (demo) but not really feeling it. Need me some badass content like DQ12 Won’t replay 11 because I’ve burned out on it . First file I have over 200 hours into it and second file, over 100 hours. I hate that the fact there taking so damn long. You should upload more DQ content man. Get creative, don’t you have a degree ??? Well, dude jump on it. This is my favorite DQ channel and you need to get on it !

In E3's defense, DQ actually doesn't play that nice with the rest of the world in general. DQX, DQM Joker 3, DQXI on 3DS & slew of other spin-offs have been made Japan exclusives by choice.

You should make a video going over all the different versions of DQ3 and recommending which ones are worth playing. I wanna play the game but people I ask can't seem to come to a consensus on which one is the best.

I really want a remake DQ9 for the Switch. There's just so many improvements that they can make and use the Switch to take advantage of that. Heck. I'd settle for them just porting DQ8 to the Switch.

Since so little is currently known about DQ12, I'm more focused on the remake of DQ3(There are some things I'd love to see expanded upon in the remake).

I've been dying for a DQ9 remake. It'd be perfect for Switch due to the online. It's the DQ game I grew up with and I loved the story. I've replayed it so many times by now but I'd love to finally experience the online play parts. :(

Every day I wait for news of the localization of DQ X Offline

It can be a crazy jrpg year in 2023... I can see DQ 12, FF16 and Persona 6 all come out at the same year..

I can't wait for 12. I have a feeling its gonna be a game changers. DQ3 remake looks solid but I wish they would remaster 8 and 9 too.

I hope by "change" the combat they mean "add" cause I'm getting real nervous for DQ12. FF turned into an action rpg, who's to say SE won't do that to DQ.

At least in Japan, they're promoting and releasing new screenshots & footage of DQX Offline pretty regularly, I have my eyes closely on that one and it looks like it has some fun twists on the turn-based system with some flashy special attacks. Please let it come out in the West...!

I'm personally really looking forward to playing Keshi Keshi if it gets a western release. Didn't really get into Tact or the Stars game but puzzle games usually work well on mobile. I had no expectation of DQ12 footage this year. Before 12 we should expect DQIII-HD, DQ10 Offline and Dragon Quest Treasures since we actually had gameplay for those whereas DQ12 was just a logo.

I hope we get character creation!

I'm not that hyped for XII, mainly cuz I know it's really early in development, all that's been shown is a logo, and I know something will come about eventually. Instead, I'm far more anxious for news on the remake of III.

I just wish they don't tryhard to make the dark by making it edgy and don't drop toriyama's artstyle it would kill these series for me I'm looking foward how the soundtrack will be without Sugiyama (maybe the base game will have Orchestred soundtrack? Lol) I think that i would love they hiring Yoko Shimomura to do the soundtrack, i feel like she would nail it and she is aleardy familiar with Square (kinda biased suggestion tho)

"Open world" is an iffy one for me. 9 and 11 are the only DQ games I've completed, and I really enjoy the linearity of them. Full BotW open world would kill the game for me. Maybe a slightly more flexible plot would be welcome, but I think DQ excels from guiding you through it.

sackchief - Ummmm, I think in the West, we waited Longer for the Next Dragon Quest after DQ iv. we never got any of the Super Famicom DQ remakes in the West. and when DQ vii came out it was on the Playstation I, and then we got DQ viii on the PS2 . not on any Nintendo consoles , except for Remakes on the Game Boy.

I don't think we'll see much of DQXII until at least the 2nd half of 2022. As for what I think the game will be like, I've got a few predictions: 1) Open-world, or at least larger open sub-areas, similar to what Shin Megami Tensei V did. 2) Multiple story endings, going on what Horii said about "having options" in the 35th anniv. stream. 3) The launch platform will be either the PS5 or the Switch's successor; given that DQXII will be setting the stage for the franchise's future, I don't think it would make much sense for it to release on the current Switch hardware.

I had just gotten into DQ after watching Your Story on Netflix, and am currently playing XI. And what I adore about this series is the COLOR, the STYLE, it's so VIBRANT and full of LIFE...but...if XII is more adult I am s o o o worried it'll go the Game of Thrones route and give it a bland, bleak and lifeless color palette. Fantasy is already dominated by somber earthy colors, I REALLY hope a franchise as GORGEOUS as DQ doesn't succumb to it...

I’m a longtime final fantasy and jrpg fan but I have never really played dragon quest. Hopefully the remake of III is done well, I’m looking forward to playing it. Also I think I’m going to play dqV on my 3ds soon

A darker DQ game...meh! A change to DQ classic combat system....vile. Just give us more games like DQ11 or at least remake DQ8 with 11's graphics and skill system.

Its been a year since this video came out and we still have literally no news on it. Though we have gotten 2 more announcements of DQ games and Builders 2 recently released. I just hope we get to see something of it soon. Even if its just the hero like the XI reveal.

The thing that's baffled me more than anything, is with the success of 11 and all the eyes that seem to be on DQ now, why not make their older games easily available on systems everyone owns. I'm surprised they never ported the zenithism trilogy to newer consoles based on the mobile versions just as they did 1-3....seems likes money lost. Or that they haven't released an hd port of the 3ds version of 8... which is the last dragon quest that is most similar to their current hit 11 They don't seem to be following up on this newfound momentum very well.

my first DQ game is DQ8 (ps2 days) hopefully they will port it on switch.. for now looking forward to get a copy of DQ3 HD 2D remake it will be my 1st time playing it.. DQXI is super cool too 🥰🥰🥰

Well that Dragon Quest X version 6 that they showed during that presentation has been very fun so far. DQ12 isnt happening for a while so im not thinking of that. DQ3 HD2DR on the other hand needs to hurry up.

Square has an awful tendency of announcing games way too soon its hard to stat hyped for a game when Im waiting 5 years till its done after its announcement

What is your opinion on platforms for DQ12? On one hand, the game is near guaranteed for the Switch not only because of Nintendo's publishing but also them basically capturing the entire Japanese game market at this point. But on the other hand, it might hold back such an ambitious game for the rest of the "next gen" platforms since it'll have to also work on it too. Perhaps the only resolution is if DQ12 is different on the Switch compared to like the PS5 (like how Xi on 3DS is nothing like the PS4 version).

I hated DQ11. Sooo laggy, so slow, so few abilities, so overblown, supers were Auto abilities which everyone hated in FF15...... Everything about it was wrong. They need to take YEARS to give this an entirely new combat system. In the meantime port octopath & bravely with big upgrades to PS.

The fact DQ12 annoucement was a CGI teaser shows its so early into development pre-production most likely. 2024 release at the least, revealed way too early classic square. Edit: shave off a year if they reuse DQ11 assets and upscale them in UE5 🤔
