To tell the truth I was fed up with this problem & bought a BlueTooth cigarette adapter and it’s fine. No need to touch my phone once you pre load the sat nav & contacts & music app. No problems and it connects to any spare FM channel & is perfect for £4.99 you get bass boost, a joystick type of button to hold down if the voice control doesn’t connect, plus on/off switch plus volume control, plus USB & USB-C charging ports, plus fast charge and you can have it flashing to the songs or just have it static. About 4 years old and still working & it’s really impressed me & saved a lot of time and money. You can take it with you and will work in any vehicle if it has a radio and cigarette charging point. Never have to drive with just fm
I have to say I went through a million RU-vid videos to figure out where to find my BT unit!!! And it was YOU who solved my problem! And I’m here in New Jersey!! Bought a BT replacement unit on EBay. Good to go. FANK YOU!!!
Thank you, Just bought a CC for my son and couldn't find it, was told it was under the seat. That media player is in my glove box so problem solved. Thx!
@@whatsdavedone104 oh no way.. i just checked in my Car. And it turns out i already have the big holder for items, būt no IPod adapter.. what Do you reckon, could it be below that?
No, I think your car possibly doesn't have Bluetooth module... it was an optional extra at factory. If it not under the seat or in arm rest then you don't have 1
Hi Dave, have you heard of problems with Bluetooth audio not working through the unit? I can connect my phone then when I play music I can’t hear it on my phone anymore yet it doesn’t play through the car audio?
Thank you for this. I checked all those other places for the module too, with no joy. I'm also on the hunt for a new half decent after market radio that'll keep the parking sensors, if you've any recommendations please.
1 suggestion. If you can PLEASE lower the volume of the intro melody. It’s too loud I believe. It scares me to click on you videos 😅. Apart from that great job mate 💪
I know this was a while ago, but hoping you can remember. You mentioned you broke the metal clip, any ideas how to remove the clip without breaking it?
if I disconnect the oem radio rcd510 to connect the wiring kit for the oem instalation bluetooth module, will I need to enter the code for the radio and where can I find it..
Slightly of topic on this one if you can help please. Got a 2015 polo and front left and rear right speakers dont work. Tested speakers and they are good. No power to speakers. Swsped head unit for another one and still didn't work. Is there a module/amplifier that controls the sound that could be at fault? I have a cd player in glove compartment
I know very little about the MIB units in VWs, I would guess there is an amp. I am sure if you had it scanned using a decent scan tool it would pin point the issue
@@whatsdavedone104No, I mean it might be but it’s not immediately visible like yours so would need specialist tools to pop it out which I’m not confident of! Was hoping it was just situated elsewhere but easy to extract like yours.
This is the answer I was looking for - hi Dave - I have the 2015 gt petrol version of this car - am I at risk of breaking convertible electrics or abs or any other wires in vicinity by trying to replace this Bluetooth unit? My Bluetooth has cinched out but am trying to get a like for like replacement.
Hi Dave hope you are well - I managed to remove my Bluetooth module safely thanks to you - it is numbered 5NO 035 729 D - do you know if I can fit any other number to plug and play as I can’t seem to find a direct replacement for it. Just thought you might know since you are an expert on the subject :)
The letter at end is to do with revision....D is new than C. So if replacing it doesn't matter but if you can get E or F it's better than B or C....my Bluetooth module has no letter at the end....which is odd as my car is a 2015
Does the bluetooth work for making and receiving calls and music streaming through now the module has been removed? I had an Erisin unit but making and receiving calls wasn't working properly and think it was due to the car bluetooth module connecting to the phone as well as the head unit
Hi I’ve got 2011 golf 60 plate . The stereo does every thing but won’t display track names and not able change tracks from steering wheel do in need a upgrade Bluetooth module ie 2012 ?? Thank you
Dave I have Jetta MK6 2011 November Model in India but it doesn't came with the Bluetooth function and the Bluetooth module I have been checked every were in the jetta the car have company fitted RCD 510 it shows only three options like radio, sd card and aux can I install Bluetooth module(company one) in RCD 510 will it work?? and I also want you to ask that do i need custome harness for that or company harness one will be ok for it?
You can install a factory Bluetooth module, would require coding to the car. Would be better off looking at aftermarket units with built-in Bluetooth. I would recommend the Eonon Q53pro.
You can purchase radio removal tool, that you slide in, push down and it then pulls out....I just gentle pulled up on the whole thing and the clips came loose
To be 100% honest you would probably be better off getting an android headunit, built-in Bluetooth and you can run Spotify on it.....Will also probably workout cheaper
My stereo shows that it does have Bluetooth however the Bluetooth search thing doesn’t come up on my dash so I am unable to connect my phone. Can you help at all?
Hi, my Bluetooth suddenly stopped working. After doing a bit of research, I located the unit, which on my Golf Mk6 (cabriolet) is under the drivers seat. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, this reset it. Now the phone works, and I can Bluetooth music from my iPhone
