Where is Primarch Vulkan? 

He is sitting in a corner waiting to make a dramatic entrance with his flashy bits. He just needs a hug Valrak, GIVE THAT MAN A HUG.

They are always asking *"Where Is Vulkan?"* but never *"How is Vulkan?"*

Vulkan is on some human-emperor forsaken death world with a squad of trusted Salamanders who follow him around 24/7 in order to keep him from hugging animals he shouldn't. Vulkan hugs a creature that violently explodes when scared and it kills him, a few minutes later he wakes up and his sons all proclaim "Vulkan lives" and they stomp because of course they must.

As a long time Chaos fan. I love Vulkan and the Salamander's lore, I even started a Salamanders killteam and may expand it into an army.

It would be very cool to see Vulkan returning with a model and salamanders models expanded with a decent release. Currently, for 40k, besides Agatone, there’s only a lousy upgrade pack for such a great chapter.

Thought do you think that the Ork Waag Magic could be holding Vulkan somewhere in a state of fighting Orks without ceasing. It would be a cool story to have Magnus or another Choas Primarc freeing him out of feeling like they owe him a debt/lording it over him or making him sware an oath with them to owe them for some future event.

Hands down Vulkan is my favorite Primarch, and every day I hope for his return in the setting.

Can not die is a bit of a stretch...if iam remembering correctly from the book impirium secundus...he was pretty much dead at the end up until that one perpetual poured his 'imortality' into vulkan, turning himself mortal and resurrecting him in a sense

I'd like a Salamanders model expansion too if Vulkan comes back

Another good thing about bringing Vulcan back is the salamanders will get loads of new models and will get loads and loads of attention which they deserve

My bets are chillin with the Green Skins. The last time we saw him he was evaporated into what was described as the pure essence of Gork and Mork. We also know he has essentially lost his mind and has been on a rampage since Curze. Maybe the Green Skins have accepted him as one of there own in that regard haha. Also would be dope to see because he is a master forgesmither and he could be learning the ways of the Ork who can make anything out of everything. Just a fun thought

Vulkan is in the web way defending the gate to the Golden Throne in perpetuity. When he felt Caldera was in danger, he traveled there, smashed, then returned to his post.

To be fair, to an imperial fist, anybody who's wandered out of line of sight of the walls has 'disappeared'. 😋 would love to see more vulkan action! He's the only primarch model I've got, and my avatar here is a salamander. says it all really!

My second fav Primarch, but I never understood why GW gave a Primarch the perpetual perk.. seems a bit op lore wise, but Vulkan has it and the main thing he managed to achieve with it was to get extra tortured by KC.

Thing is, if vulkan can be obliterated by magnus all that much, there's no reason why any of the others can't come back. They'll hand wave it as something the emperor can do.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the Salamanders need to find the rest of the 9 Artifacts to bring back Vulkan? If so then there's hopefully some damn good books coming to bring those pieces back and then subsequently vulkan :)

Let me start by saying I want him to yes. He is my favorite Primarch and legion. But, he’s got a lot of explaining to do if he does. Loyalist yes. But, obviously indifferent at this point. Or he would still be working to support the imperium. He’s had a bad shake. Getting tortured to death and beyond over and over. I don’t know that he would willingly return to the fight.

I think that Vulkan should be the 4th loyalist primarch to return after The lion and Leman Russ (going off that dark angels and space wolves are their own unique codex supplements with their primarchs still alive and M.I.A) and after Fulgrim's return. If Vulkan does return before then, should the salamanders get their own unique codex Like Space wolves, Dark Angels, Thousand Sons, Death Guard and World Eaters? Keep up the great work Mr Valrak

According to the books, he lost his immortality during the Heresy and then he died during the war of the beast. That's where he is, in the ground so to speak. Probably won't stop GW from bringing him back of course.

I want Vulkan (not only because I'm getting into Salamanders and would love to have both loyalist Primarchs and their chapters) because he's tied for my favorite Primarch and the Salamanders in general need a bit more love from GW

I would love Vulkan to return, but I know he can’t until the “artifacts” are found. I’d hope for a new book or event focused on the Salamanders, like He’Stan or Tu’Shan, both beloved characters, going on a suicide mission into Imperium Nihilus or some other super dangerous part of the galaxy (so ANYWHERE, I guess) and finding the last few artifacts that, perhaps at the cost of their lives, bring back Vulkan.

Vulkan actually does arrive back to the Golden Throne in time but is ordered to stay and guard the portal while The Emporer, Rogal Dorn, Constantine, and eventaully Sanguinious teleport to the Vengful Spirit

I want to believe that vulkan is between "rebirths" at the moment, and will return, not just sitting on his hands in exile. He's in the warp, leading the legion of the damned. Once the salamanders find the relics, he will return to the material world. But until then, he's still being a badass, serving the emperor by bringing glorious victory in crucial battles that otherwise would have been hopeless catastrophes. I just love vulkan, and the legion of the damned, so i want there to be some connection there. :)

I never understood why people get so upset about primarchs returning. People need to come to terms with the fact that GW is eventually going to bring every primarch back because they know it will sell. It won’t be anytime soon but eventually even Horus will return

I have a theory about what state my Primarch Vulkan is in the 42nd millenium All the other loyalist Primarchs either went into the warp and missing or are in some kind of stasis, with Dorn being unknown entirely. What ever happened to Vulkan after the War of the Beast, he has probably lived for the thousands of years up until this point. If he truly still is on Caldera somehow, then I'd love to see Vulkan actually take the old and wise Primarch role, even though they are all technically the same age, he's the only Primarch consciously living through all these years. And this is also where it could become interesting since I've read a bunch that the Salamanders do have a gene flaw other than just the skin and eyes, namely that with age they become more and more stubborn, inhumanly stubborn, set on only that one task, which usually ends up being protecting civilians and them dying in the process. What if that geneflaw is also present in the Primarch, who's basically become obsessed with protecting the world he once razed. Guilliman would find a mentally broken, giant ashen-black man with eyes nothing like the fiery gems they once were but like embers barely holding on. Long white hair and a white beard flows from the head and his voice, once so warm and reassuring has become cold and bellowing. The Drake of Nocturne is now an Ancient Dragon, protecting his "hoard" for millenia and it's taken a toll on him. Together with the Salamanders Guilliman might find some way to break through to Vulkan and get him back into the swing of things. Maybe then we'll get that glorious set of armor that one artist drew for him in the loyalist Primarchs in 40k artwork

Hell ya. I know we're not the most popular 1st founding chapter, hell there's some 2nd founding chapters that get more love from GW, but, I believe GW is throwing money away not expanding the lore and attention given to the sallies.
