Students in the United States face detention, suspension and other punishments as they protest against Israel’s war on the Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere and demand that their universities divest from Israel.
US President Joe Biden has condemned the “antisemitic” protests, and student leaders at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill tell host Steve Clemons that the White House attempt to discredit their movement is backfiring.
MIT professor Michel DeGraff explains how the students are putting into practice everything they’ve learned about morality, justice and liberation. “They are creating a better future… a future of love and peace,” says DeGraff.

It's not a coincidence that Netanyahu criticized the US for not doing enough to crush the demonstrations, just a few days before the nationwide crackdown. This MIT professor explained so well what is happening to the Palestinian people and how he is teaching his students to see that by analyzing what happened in Haiti to the black community in the US. Discussing Palestinian rights is not allowed in Germany from what I understand they banned a Palestinian doctor with British citizenship from speaking and entering. They also banned a former Greek minister who is pro-Palestinian, though Greece is in the EU. I am sure there are many amazing Germans. I don't know how many support this bad behavior by the government. It saddens me.

This is really great to hear: such impassioned action from young people. I actually have hope for this country. Out with the old ways, in the with new. I also saw a video where a young 18-year-old Israeli guy refused to serve in the IDF. He is a conscientious objector. So Israel put him in jail for 30 days. The young man will continue to refuse, and the Israeli government will continue to punish him but he is standing firm. The movement is catching on from within Israel.

This courageous and committed movement on college campuses is the most encouraging thing happening America in a long time. It could very well be the moment that exposes the corrupt criminality nexus between American imperialism, Israeli colonialism, corporate monopoly, Wall St pillage and plunder, insane rising cost of living and housing, no universal free healthcare, rampant police brutality, increased surveillance state between Big Tech/social media/govt spying, etc. This is most immediately about the genocide in Palestine, and the fascism of Israel aided and abetted by America.
