Great video, really helped me understand what the water table actually is for my intro to construction module. I could do the calculations but this has really helped me visualize what it actually is and better understand it, thanks!
S.A.E vs Metric: in the 80's the USA was going to switch to metric, and had actually started the conversion but then determined that both systems were required mainly in the area of machining, screw hole size and threads were the points of determination and the torque they had and neither of the two systems could do both so they adopted both measuring units and the world is a better place with them both as science uses the metric system
In Canada, we use pounds in fruit & vegetable section in retail stores just to make pricing look lower. Search me why the adopted metric system is still not on top of the pound system in 2024. At times you just gotta let go, lol

So it seems that I need to find a place where I want to build my house that has a water table that’s very high but in reference to the dry months the dryers periods of that area with the water table that’s closest to the land surface I’ll dig my well all the way down to the water table graft at the dryers. Of the year for that specific area and that should give me a reliable source of water of course the water well it’s not gonna be my only source of water but this video was very helpful

Your findings are dependent on both wells having the exact same amount of well casing above ground level which is highly unlikely. Measurements should in fact have been taken from ground surface, not top of well casing. Your findings dont seem to take into account hydrostatic pressure. I believe your findings are misleading....but interesting perspective.
if you were to take a pipe, lets say 50m hose, put one end in a well and the other in a stream, if a siphon is created will water flow from the well to stream
Actually, I learned that I need to dig a well on my land. I did so, and use a 2 inch PVC pipe instead of a 4 inch like in the video. I am paranoid about my cell phone or thermometer falling into the pipe. I will spend a year studying the variation in the water table, and then make a decision on geothermal.
what if the 2 wells are no closer than 1/2 mile apart with hills between. all these videos are useless. only way is to dig. the wells in my are vary from 900 to 50 feet deep.with in a half mile circle the wells vary from hand dug to 900 feet drilled. thats a 50 foot well in between a pair of wells 800 to 900 feet deep. one well 50 foot with in 60 feet of another well 400 foot. go figure. water is where you find it.8 wells drilled on my place varied from 300 to 500 feet deep by different drillers with no water.
In California central valley fruit basket of the world we are in a servicer drought for over six years with no mountain snow fall in the Yosemite Valley area. During the 1920s and 30s and 40 years you would be able to drill down 30 ft in reach water in the Fresno area outlining City's, also in the Tulare area and the outlining city's and town's. The river systems and the lake systems in this area are no more because of the canals. The natural rate of water flow has been interrupted by mankind destroying the landscape by planting fruit trees and vegetables, hint bread basket of the world no more.
Voters in California (and elsewhere) continue to elect idiots to rule over them. Why can we not live with nature instead of trying to make it conform to what we want it to be. The Everglades in Florida has also been destroyed by people trying to reshape it. There are these type of issues all over the globe.

thumbs down! In the beginning of the video, your ground water measurements are in meters. Later on you talk of ground water depths in feet! Certainly you can do better.
