I had watched some of these before as just individual episodes, so having all of them correlated together was a blessing and convenient to watch. Anyone who considers themself as a "Foodie" needs to watch this and gain a better understanding as to how & where specialized foods come from and better understand why the prices for such artisanal foods are so expensive and difficult to produce. I am a big supporter for the family-owned businesses that produce not just the unique foods but do it in the "Old-School" manner and in a more natural way. 👍👍Support your local enterprises and stores that sell such items and use the internet to buy the international items. 👍👍
Ok, but as a former bartender who has worked everywhere from sports bars to chain restaurants to high-end I actually agree that for a very high quality drink ice can make a difference
@BusinessInsider You guys make some of the best quality, interesting and informative documentaries on the internet !! Legitimate congratulations and please keep producing your amazing content !! 👏🏆
Another very interesting video. It shows how far the wealthy will go for excellence and the companies that will make it happen. The ice company especially.
@@pincushionllama don't think so . The water must be circulated in order to freeze transparent. It freezes from the outer edges into the center , not from the bottom up .
i did that process when i was a chef with the urchins. My uncle had a great business there until he said enough was enough. He would send me 100s of them a week cause it was the most popular dish there. You have to work fast cause once you open them the clock starts before they make themselves taste bad
mmm yes art that coveres over 50% of the space in the tiny ass cup you get for your most likely overpriced drink. museums exists ya know, a bar is built for drinking not for looking at an overglorified chunk of frozen water
@@thatnguyen7353NO one is making them stay there. . Quit your race card B.S. already Edit: You MUST be one of the ones who thinks that the government SHOULD pay for you to live for free your entire life... 😒
A few months ago i was watching some ATK episode in RU-vid and they were talking about Cinnamon, they did say they preferred the "Saigon Cinnamon" taste Which obviously was Cassia and not true Cinnamon, so in my opinion Americans are so accustomed to the much stronger Taste and Smell of Cassia that It will prove futile to try to wean them of it, they love it in their Cinnabuns and other similar pastries, they don't use Cinnamon in drinks, like we use it in Mexico, and when you make American Pastries with Ceylon Cinnamon they feel it lacks pungency and is too mild. In Mexico we love Ceylonese Cinnamon and even grow a few kilos of it in the Gulf Coast, but we import more Ceylonese Cinnamon than any other Country in the World.
What would be cool is if they made ice-cubes/safe liquids that can be put with drinks that change color or emit a specific odor if certain date r8 d4gs are used
Great compilation 👍, I watch these good documentaries. There were Sea Otters whom consumed alot of the sea urchin population keeping them in check. I understand there were kelp forests. Then why not re introduce Sea Otters from Seward and they will bring back the kelp forests that were definitely decimated by the sea urchins. Kelp is where Sea Otters and other animals that depend on them for protection from predators and the elements.😁
They also allow the business to use less expensive alcohol because the big block of ice makes the drink seem like more. It’s not all about looks. I personally would prefer less ice and more drink.
Ok but what happens when you order your drink with one of those fancy ice cubes and you drink it down fast and then order another one .. do they throw out a practically brand new ice cube and put a new fancy one in?… and then charge a premium for it?! 😂 Seems like a stupid way to waist your money tbh
What a waste of wealth. Everyone getting their coin on the backs of people trying to be fancy are doing it right. It’s stupid money for ice. They made it work and people really feel like they’re getting something special.😅
FFS - you put a trigger warning for gay aboriginal ancestors but nothing at all for the ACTBLUE commercials? I'm watching all of these beautiful, meticulously made delicacies and BOO - freaking zombies pop up out of nowhere. Do better @BusinessInsider
