Definitely as Hugh Jackman has the perfect mix of charisma being charming and calm while playing wolverine for example but at any minute he can become completely caught in rage and violence which is exactly how Joel is as Joel uses his anger and rage to protect those he cares about that being Ellie and Tommy as his only family left
He is very good. It's a 9/10 scene. But he could've prolonged the last scream and went louder. But, downside, his vocals would've been swore for a few days. But it would've made the next scene, if he tried to talk, and had his voice partially fractured, man, that would've been an insane sequence. Because In that moment, you as the viewer can fully embrace that feeling more realistically and feel that atmosphere more intensely.
He gets an Oscar, she gets an Oscar, every body gets an Oscar😂😂😂😂 You guys make me laugh. He's not doing anything spectacular in this scene but somehow he deserves an Oscar for it? He's just doing his job. Just acting a part. Nothing special. He acts no different in the x men movies, should he get an Oscar for each of those movies as well?😂
@@Loophole23742you out of you mind ,the entird movie is insane because of him , one of my top movie of all time , not a lot of actor could have nailed it like he did
I read somewhere that apparently it wasn't in the script for hugh to hit the sink so what you're seeing are pretty much real reactions from Terrance and Paul. Another reason why Hugh's one of my favorite actors.
@@slickrick2420 I don't think you understand how acting really works. Just how you think acting is supposed to work. Many movies have improvised scenes when an actor goes off script if they know they can add more dramatic effect. Other times, accidents happen but the actors roll with it because it inadvertently improved the effect of the scene. Then there's a few times where the scene just produces a genuine response from the actors, so much so that even though off script, the genuine response ends up being better for the effect of the movie/show.
I dont know if its true or not but somebody said Hugh improvised this whole scene. That's some impressive improvisation. Not to mention it wouldve meant the bloody guy had no idea Hugh was going to do this and was probably scared shitless 😅
Ikr? Hugh would have made Joel even more intimidating than the game version. Hell, here he's even looking and acting like a scarier version of Joel teetering on the edge of insanity. Pedro Pascal is great, but Hugh doing the part where Joel interrogates and executes the cannibals would have been perfection.
Hugh is a pro though, look how he subtly moves the guys hand away when he starts smashing even though its probably a prop hammer and sink made for the scene
Im not so sure it was Jackman actually moving the other actors hand out of the way. Look closely and you'll notice that Jackman is Holding it in place at the wrist and that the guy in the Glasses is who instinctively tries to move his hand out of the way but only manages to move his fingers because Jackman is holding the wrist in place. After those first few hits, I do see what you mean: Jackman subtly moving the wrist away with each Smash to the sink so as to be safe . I am willing to bet that Hugh Jackman had a good hold on the wrist and would prevent the Other actor from coming to harm by keeping it steady in one place...but instincts are instincts. Hugh Jackman is a badass!
Read the articles and interviews. The actor who is being tortured here says the only improv was the hammer swing into the wall next to his head. The sink was planned. He even went into detail of how building that level of trust with Hugh allowed for the scenes to reach intense levels throughout the films.
@@coreymonday1375 you really thought you said something here lmao. You don’t see his facial expressions? His reactions to each and every swing of the hammer? The genuine tears coming out of his eyes? That’s called acting.
He already did in the X-Men movies and he's even had his own spin off movies one literally named wolverine that takes place were he goes to Japan an the other named Logan
Hugh wasn't even in the movie originally, he was filming nearby the set and his daughter wandered off. They just rolled film as he stumbled onto set with a hammer.
Perfect way for Wolverine to scare off The Riddler when he’s angry to interrogate vs Batman punching the bullet proof glass like a child while The Riddler is singing and laughing at Batman in jail to interrogate.
As much as I love Pedro Pascal I will forever stand by my opinion in thinking that after watching Logan and Prisoners that Hugh Jackman was perfect for Joel in The Last Of Us HBO
You definitely deserve more likes for this.Because I swear a******* act like they don't want to tell the movie in the comments. But with tell us when they washed it as the kid and the memories it broubut fucking assholes
I don't think so. I'm no actor but I could easily do this thinking about it being my daughter. And I promise you I'd get it on the first take. This isnt acting so much just anger
@@scottstone1475so it’s acting… u know like acting is not equal to lying. If u have to act anger and when u play u feel angry so ur a good actor…. Imagining a scenario to play the emotion we want u to play is acting…
@@scottstone1475 scott stone, your acting talents are being wasted. Please hop onto a bus to Hollywood immediately and bless us with your incredible gifts!
It’s been like 11 years and yet I still come back and remember this is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Just deep and emotional and symbolic in someways.
When I saw this in the theaters, everybody and I mean, EVERYBODY went total and complete silence for a few minutes. We were all shocked and amazed by Hugh’s performance.
For tho I watched this and another movie with Hugh Jackman in it where he has a depressed son, I don’t want to give any spoilers lol phenomenal actor he is!!!
The entire movie. Start to finish. Hugh's acting was absolutely incredible. Definitely top 5 acting performances I've ever seen along with Jake Gyllenhaal's performances in this movie aswell 👏 it's a shame they didn't receive Oscar's for this 😕
i literally saw this movie with my parents when i was 8. it used to be the movie that had the biggest impact in me, but i had seen worse things back then lol.
"I had seen worse things back then" Damn bro, you are so damaged and broken. What a hard life you've lived. But it has made you tough, hasn't it? Ever since you were little, you witnessed horrific crimes. Maybe that's why you are the main character 😃👍🏻
Hugh Jackman is such an amazing actor. I believe one of his kids said in an interview that hes usually so calm at all the time that its hard to picture him as Wolverine sometimes
Hugh Jackman should be casted as Joel Miller if the Hollywood decided to make The Last of Us movie version. I know Pedro Pascal is already Joel, but he is Joel in the series version and Hugh in the Movie version, we would have 2 Joels lmao
Hugh Jackman would be perfect for wolverine. I hope marvel reaches out to him because he could be sick. He just brings the right energy to the character
