Imma play the Devil's Advocate here. He is a one-trick pony. No hate on the guy but c'mon he legit makes Portuguese every. single. time. (As far as I know whenever he was put in a situation where he couldn't cook Portuguese, this madlad simply put a Portuguese twist on it.) That's why his meals get berated. In a lot of the auditions as well they expect you to know other cuisine and will ask if you seem to be cooking something in your comfort zone. This is MasterChef. Your expected to excel in every aspect not just something your familiar with.

I feel bad for danny, even he is not talentet he is trying to be creative, which is a good thing but he have to do it perfectly, i hope he is going to be a better chef soon.
