I think about half an hour ago I was just thinking about how I wanted some pizza tonight, and I'm on a trip to Prague right now. This is the best timing on a video ever.
Pizza Nouva was rated in the top 50 pizzerias in Europe by an Italian Pizza Organization. Its pretty good with a decent price for being in the old town.
Pizza Nuova, San Carlo and Napoletana - original pizza are (from what I've tasted) best napoletan style pizzas in Prague, cant go wrong with any of them.
Honestly so happy Third Coast was on there, as a study abroad student living in Vinohrady and next to Žižkov, that place was my dose of Americana whenever I needed it
Have been watching your channel for a while an we finally decided to visit Prague this autumn. Im very excited and have been binge watching your videos to suck up as much information as possible about Prague. Love from Germany
I think the best italian pizza in Prague is actually from SASY The Original, looks like they might have changed locations, but it's still in the center near Mustek. Definitely worth a try 😊
I've been to San Carlo many times. Now I no longer live in Prague I can't find a decent pizza place anymore. San Carlo Ruined my forever. I went to San Carlo with Italians (not from Naples) And they said they could not get a pizza that good in Italy apart from in Naples. The owner who founded the place is from Naples and you can notice.
Johnny pizza is some of the best I’ve had in the world. I’m from the US and have been to nyc a dozen times but I will always choose pizza forms Jhonny’s pizza over anything. I hope this video doesn’t make it too popular because on a Friday night you already have 40-50 ppl outside
My absolute favourite pizza in Prague is Fresh Point in Dejvice, they make amazing slices as well, but you can get the whole pizza as well of course for sit down, really brings me back to my uni days
10:43 as an Italian,i wouldn't have an heart attack there, actually i'll genuinely try that one! Anyway, even if i'm a person who avoids Italian food outside Italy (for obvious reasons),those pizzas looked soo good,i wouldn't have expected that!
Try it in Naples. My top 5 pizza was in Naples :) Even the restaurant says it is italian, and italian ingredients, and everything is italian, I never ate pizza like in Naples. Not in Prague, not in Budapest, not elswhere.
I love to travel, and usually it´s because of different foods, and of course cultures. But I find it a bit weird to eat pizza in prague, or lasagne in krakow, etc. I mostly would like to try the local foods as much as possible. Even though the best pizza I´ve had was in Philadelphia :D
This is a good guide. San Carlo is good. The only issue with San Carlo is its inconsistent depending on whos making the pizza that day ever since covid.
Hi guys, I'm from Argentina and you helped me tons while I was planning my trip to Prague. If you're ever interested in reaching out to the Spanish -speaking audience, I would love to help you!
Never would have thought Prague = pizza, but it looks really great! Naples ruined me for pizza, and it looks like that style (Neapolitan) is being used. Definitely need to try it! Thanks!
I come partially from Naples and live in Prague since a few years and can guarantee you the most authentic Neapolitan Pizza you will get at San Carlo´s 💯🤌
I really enjoyed this, especially coming from a place where the pizza is terrible. Can't even blame it on the tourists because I'm fairly certain we've never had one. Cheers.
I don't think you can define a best pizza restaurant based on one pizza they serve. Some people like them Cheesy. Some like them real "Tomato saucy" Some like Thick Crust, some like Thin. Some like crunchy pizza, some like soft and doughy pizza. Pizza places should be ranked on the variety of Pizzas they serve.
I think there's no such thing as 'best pizza', it could be 'best Napoli pizza', or 'best Roman pizza' or 'best American pizza', you won't find a lot of restaurants that will serve all three, and then people can go off their preference. Typically if they can do 2 pizzas well they will make the rest just as well, although sometimes restaurants fail to make veggie pizzas well because it's easier to make meat pizzas tasty due to fat content.
Ty vole! No joke, try Budapest for pizza! I’ve traveled the entirety of Italy and didn’t taste pizza as good as from a place in Budapest (an Italian runs this place of course) but I must add, there are a few places close 👌
This place opened up in prague also in Bělehradská street, i saw it today. I believe the restaurant in Plzeň must be the first one and I am old to just now have found this video out haha
Thanks for the advice, we went to the San Carlo Mala Strana and it was great. Pizza's were excellent, friendly staff and good beer - what else can you ask for?
One pizza place I highly recommend in the Prague 7 area is called Einstein’s, not only was the pizza great but if you or have a friend who is a student you can get a whole pizza free when you buy one. It was super cheap too!
After cooking some pasta with carbonara, the proper way, I sat down to watch this since I know how Italian food should taste and look like. I approve all but the Detroit style from Pilsen. Video is great but it could use more critique.
Also why don't I cook Italian foods if I'm so good at it? I know right, who asked xD. Cause in IT I earn more xD and I don't want to sell overpriced food, seems immoral to me. (or at least I'd have a "student and elderly discount" scheme, 20% off for eating in) so instead of 170 Kč (7,3 €) they'd pay 135 Kč (5,2 €) or about the price of a kebab made with actually good ingredients. That'd add up to 120 Kč *pure profit* and "only" 70 Kč profit for the student one. For this to be viable (I'd just rent a space, I wouldn't buy anything but the stuff to make the pizza itself) I'd have to sell at least 12 pizzas/day, any more would be just purely for profit. But legally speaking, I'm a bachelor IT professional, not a chef. So it's a no-go anyways.
Now you can do Balkan food tasting, there are a few Balkan restourants in Prague and you should visit them. P.S. Resturant called Delije in centar of the Prague have amazing pizza.
I ate like 3 times at Johnny Pizza bar. YOu can get a slice on the counter but we always went inside to eat. They offer huge pizzas for less than 10 bucks.
When you said that in New York you find great slices of pizza, an Italian has just died! 😄 Anyway, I think you should have gone with an Italian to taste pizzas and know which one is truly good (and authentic) 😉
You definitely skipped two of the best Neapolitan style pizzas: La Pizza Nostra - Neapolitan take-away pizza and SASY The Original which recently changed/moved from bistro type to full restaurant Na Prikope.
Piccola Italia Praha in Žižkov and Wine Food Italians are worth a mention, and also exciting news - Slice Slice Baby will be opening full restaurant in Holešovice, soon. They used to do only pop-ups previously. I could make larger list including Pizza Nuova, Pizza Famiglia, Amuni and Fresh Point
I'm gonna be in Prague in December on a weekend and I was looking for a spot to watch NFL games at...Now I know I have to go to the Detroit style pizza spot!
