brett rosehill the conservative Councillor was reprimanded for antisemitic abuse towards a labor rival, appealed against it and lost.... He seems like a horrible person

There’s a great UK commercial… two women in hijabs speaking in a “foreign” language… and this other bus passenger says that they should be speaking the native language… they laugh at him and tell him that they are speaking Welsh and they are in wales.

I listened to the discussion between Mr O'Brien and Bernie Sanders, and his comments this morning reiterating his need to hear Mr Sanders' views on wealth distribution with interest. I cannot understand James' contempt for Corbyn, when his views about wealth distribution, healthcare etc are mirrored by those of Bernie Sanders?

The comment by the mixed race caller talking about class as a barrier so resonates with me. I’m an older Irish woman from a working class background and I arrived in London during the 80s and I remember being shunned and disrespected as a matter of course. I am visual artist and I continue to experience exclusion - galleries and institutions pay lip service to diversity, if you’re not socially networked - which is so often linked to class, there are no breaks. Until of course you’re at deaths door and become investable. Did I ever think I’d be looking forward to my 80s!

I think we need to put programs in place to assist with integration, including communication with the local communities educating and informing them about the refuges and asylum seekers coming into the area. I think a big problem is people aren’t informed about who’s coming, which creates a divide from the start and some education into who they are, where they have come from, the reasons for and some information about their culture and even events to meet them would really help with breaking the divide and integrating

The conversation should now be about how we can rid ourselves of the current failing government/parties and do better moving forward. UPDATE: Brett has formally apologised to Dawn Butler (who is seeking legal advice) on the grounds that James "backed me into a corner" and that he has been affected by the attack last October. As far as I know, he has offered no apology for stating James has "contempt for the Jewish race". Btw, Brett has form: he was one of five Tory councillors who, in 2022, lead a smear campaign against another Jewish candidate (who received a lot of anti-Semitic hate as a result): the mind boggles. I was gonna say how odd I found the Conservative Councillors idea on how to conduct a phone conversation with a Radio Presenter who’s generally considered to have a bit of respect towards callers who’ve taken the time to gather and include presentable facts in order to bolster their argumenten ? As a life long immigrant in the UK primarily based in and among the white working class, I hate to burst Rishi Sunak's privileged bubble, but he was never freely elected by the indigenous population and if he is ever in that position in the future my belief is that even with his extensive financial privilege this would never happen.
