FILM DESCRIPTION:
From the best-selling novel comes a captivating mystery. Where the Crawdads Sing tells the story of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world; but when one of them is found dead, she is immediately cast by the community as the main suspect. As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh.

Can we just appreciate how sincere this apology is? That’s how you do it

I'm glad she did not forgive Tate right away. It was a good apology, but she needed the time.

2:04 This small moment demonstrates so much about the difference between the two men in Kya’s life. Tate holding out the feather is so personal, and just between them. It’s something Chase could never understand or appreciate. Kya knew in her heart of hearts it was always going to be Tate.

This movie is under appreciated. Everyone went wild about 'The Notebook', but this movie is just as good or even better. How is it possible I only heard about it since yesterday?

Its mystery and murder spin makes it less culturally appealing. It doesn’t have the cookie cutter happy/warm ending most people want to see in an expected romance film. That or it doesn’t star A-list actors.

They’re completely different though, this film is like a forensic file case, murder mystery with romance genre and The Notebook is a romantic film

Something very important and special that maybe most people missed. Her sense of nature was that she was part of it, part of the 'the wilderness takes and gives, it kills yet it doesn't see it as something bad...' She felt so strong about it, that she was of the swamp herself, part of the flora and fauna that when she killed her boyfriend, she saw it as the natural course to take with no blame on her, as we read in her journal at the end of the movie. She was willing to go to prison than to say she was guilty of, mind you, not being part of the swamp and ITS laws. Of course she knew what she had done was wrong according to OTHER laws, but for her the laws of the swamp and the wilderness meant more for her so she understood her act against him as needed and justified. What a great story. I have watched it more than once even though I don't like crying due to some mental struggles, but I just can't help it.

Yes, but he thought he had to choose between Kya and everything else that mattered to him. His studies, his new chances of success, the new friends that he probably made in college. And in the end, he gave everything up and returned to Kya and his home. He could have never come back, but he did and after his return, he supported Kya more than any one and encouraged her to try new things without having to say goodbye to the march. And he spent the rest of his life with the woman she loved, instead of abandoning her again.

They were children when they met. He came to apologise like a man, owning his mistakes. I don't say that I would forgive, but I think I would understand the choices he made.
