Today I make $600 an hour resawing oak stair treads. Also, A look at how I spent my birthday week. Here are some of the past resawing videos: • AMAZING craftsmanship!... • Garbage to Gold part 1... • CLIENT PROJECT: Resawi...
Happy 50th! I just retired last year and I bought the LT 35 Hydraulic two years ago. I am having a riot cutting and drying wood! As a retired designer/ builder and have built 42 log homes… Why didn’t I buy this cool machine 30 years ago?!?! Cheers to u!!
Yes! Log homes have a organic, back to basics vibe. I’m a total “Techno Putz” … Wish I could send u a pic of my wood shop. I used some left over shakes, galvanized metal and different trims. My shop is my “Safe Haven’!!Cheers!
Happy 50th Jason!! If I think really hard I still can't even remember 50, but it must have been ok since I'm still here at 67. They tried to get me to work last summer after I had retired. I just laughed at them. Retirement is the best invention man has made yet!
Lucky man to be so loved. I wish you a very happy birthday. Last week I moved to Toutle, WA and am very much closer to my remaining family. After three years of almost complete isolation in Colorado I gotta say it feels pretty damn good.
Happy belated birthday dude. glad you had a good time. And thanks for the info on the resawing. I could use some of that action on my home made mill. especially when I retire in a few years. 👍
Happy belated birthday mate, well done on making a good half century 😊. Glad you're safe from the fires. We had a big bushfire come right through our place a few years ago - the fireys saved the house, but the acreage looked like burnt toast! Bloody scary stuuf😮. I reckon you're spot on regarding resawing. One thing I also recommend to guys like yourself is to get in touch with local luthiers. If you get hold of a nicely figured log, most instrument makers will pay good money for relatively small pieces of timber. And dont chuck away all thos "offcuts" from a highly figured piece.. Pen makers will buy a plen blank for $5...so if you have a bunch of those little scraps lying around and find yourself at a loss for work one day, you can sell a 5" x 1 " x 1 " piece for a couple of dollars...shouldn't take long to make a bunch if you have some nice off cuts and you can just advertise tgem on FB marketplace, or craigslist or whatever local online selling platform you have and they'll get snapped up if they're any good. Its certainly better than burning it!!
Wow, lots of friends, family who loves you, good job(s) and lots of opportunities. I hope you know how blessed you are and praise the Lord for it! congrats and thanks for the video!
Happy Belated Birthday. You have some great friends. Gifting you all that beer and then giving you some depends. I actually did laugh out loud. Seeing that box of crabs reminded me that I need to get a hamper for the weekend. Living in southeast Louisiana I can go and catch my own if I want.
Thank you, John! I caught those crabs in the bay right across the street from our condo on the Oregon coast. I fish and crab off of my Jet ski. It’s a blast!
Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 !! Make sum side money 💰 🤑 💸 while U can !!!! Look forward to ur return Full -Time to sawing ....... God Bless and take care 🙂 🙏
Hi Jason, That was an easy way to earn some quick money. Thanks for including your birthday party footage. Hope you have many more. You and your family stay safe.
Congrats on a half-century! I just caught an 18# Chinook on the Umpqua 2 1/2 weeks ago. Oregon Coast in the Fall is awesome. Don’t get talked into too many of those temporary gigs, you’ve got a good thing going with all of your projects
Hey brotherman, awesome share, Happy Birthday! Resawing is money for sure! Man you look awesome you, lean trim you cutting for a fight lol Stay safe and God bless
good video glad you had a good birthday and the fire didn't get near you. i had a friend that made picture frames out of reclaimed wood he gave me a bunch of boards that were full of nails. he was going thru a lot of saw blade and planner blade. take care, be safe and well.
Good luck on fires. We saw enough of those videos a couple, three years ago. Birthday days looked really fun. And rest up Old Timer. Coming out of retirement can be a shock to the system!!🥳
Happy 50, well deserved, even the rooster was in support. Great party, thanks for sharing your big day. We should turn 50 more often! Enjoy your short break from retirementlol.
JASON, really Bud, Making easy money and having fun doing it is good Stuff ! BUT..... There's NOTHING greater on earth than to have Family, friends, and health to enjoy life with! You are blessed!
i've caught up on all of your old content and now i patiently await new stuff. glad your birthday and vacation went well. good new that the fire missed you. summer is fading fast so hopefully the threat level will drop. looking forward to the next project....fire pit???
You did well on this job. For the sake of half a blade kerf only half of the original number of stair treads needed to be cut. I am sure you'll find a good use for some almost 1.5" thick oak stair treads.
great birthday party, thanks for sharing. One more comment, can you believe someone laminated (glue up) all those boards, planed them and all, just so they can be re-sawed. What a situation. Again, I enjoyed your post bday celibration and I wish you more great years to come. (and you are working again lol ) (me too again and I'm older than 50 ) Happy Birthday 😊🎂
What a nice little job that was.....and you got to keep half of the oak! That was worth it by itself. The birthday party and follow on vacation looked like a lot of fun and undoubtedly made memories that will last forever. Life is good;-)
As soon as I heard there was a fire at the park I thought about you and your family and your new shop ect.. Anyway so glad the fire is now contained and the weather is about to go back to normal. Stay safe my friend and enjoy your next 50 years....LOL
Wow! What a score on an easy job! I wish I was that confident on pricing my skills. Ha! Love the video at the end too. Good edit on the footage you were handed. 😁
Pays to have good equipment to do the job well. You do good work. Good birthday party with friends and family. Wow, fresh sea food and then sand buggies to top it off.
