In the text written in the windshield search for the words "único" or "única" (only) and "Factura original" that will tell you than that Car has had a single owner and the owner have the receipt of the dealership, sometimes the car still have the free maintenance service that the dealership provide for a few years after the purchase.
You are such an inspiration for helping those who aspire to broaden their horizon for a better way of living! This is such a valuable video, truly it is! 👍🏼
I definitely appreciate you and your support. At this stage in my life the objective is to really be of value to others. Thank you so much. Appreciate you
Great Vid! THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was noticing when I was in Merida that all the cars I rode in were manual shift. 1.Do they have automatic. 2. How do you know if the car is paid off or has liens. 3.Don't you need a RFC# when you purchase a car. 4. How do you know if the warranty is still good or if you can get an extended warranty... is there a 3 day warranty? $10k is a lot to lose. 5. How do you find maintenance records? Please advise on all the questions...I am moving soon.
Hi Tracy, nearly all cars here are automatic. I wanted to buy a Jeep Cherokee stick shift and it was close to impossible. Used cars do not have leans, but you DO have to check to see if they have unpaid parking tickets. When you go to the TIangus that Curt and I were at, they will actually go online right then and there and check on a govt website. It is free. You just enter the plate numbers and it will show you. I first purchased as a temporary resident with a Mexican ID. I believe you can purchase with a tourist visa, but do not know how that works. You will not get an extended warranty on a used car sale from an individual. If you are not comfortable purchasing a car, definitely bring a mechanic to check it out or purchase from a dealership. Many owners have maintenance records and many do not. I personally do not care, I trust my ability to decide if a car is in good shape.
Almost all cars are automatic, just the little ones come with a stick, You can tell the seller to bring the car to your trusted mechanic to check it, but they might ask you for a deposit. Warranty becomes less important in Mexico since car shops are less inexpensive. I just had maintenance of my honda in the dealership and it costed me $75 dollars.
