Dude!!! You deserve an award for getting straight to the point giving exactly what people are looking for within seconds of watching this video! SUBSCRIBED. Excellent job.
Thank you so much! It feels like there's a billion options to choose from when it comes to every part of making a website, and generally you find 10-15 minute videos explaining just one of those options. And they often don't even tell you what step in the process that site or what ever is for! This is like, step 0. Get the darn domain. And I was totally lost on step 0 before this. Thank you!
Such a major help and and providing what is needed! Lolol, this feels like a presented report just providing the facts and letting you draw the conclusions! Thanks Yous!
You are the first YT who has mentioned CloudFlare for domain purchase. Your review is honest for audience. Others YTbers have put their aff links for domain review.
Thx a million this really helped me Now all I have to do is find out how to transfer my domain from google to pork bun I have 3 domains I paid for already for the next 3-4 years
Perfect review. I had no idea Cloudflare was an option. One thing that could be good for another video is touching on transferring a url. Doesn't seem like cloudflare is set up very well for this.
It's a great video, thank you for the info. Sometimes it's better to pay a little extra. I purchased my domain and email from pork bun and I regret buying the email, is giving me so many issues the emails not being delivered or not receiving emails. I don't recommend pork bun
Thanks for the video. Just one note - Cloudflare is only good if you use their servers. Because you can’t point your domain to other servers. That’s is not very convenient. I just bought one domain there and now have to transfer it because they won’t allow me to point the domain to a server I use
You can purchase a domain with Aplus or Deluxe for a good price . If you renew your domain for multiple years, you get some sort of discount which is great but the domain privacy is not included
Do not go with Cloudflare. Cloudflare does not let you use your own nameserver unless your upgrade to a business account with cost $200 a month. I just learned that the hard way. Unless you are planning to use Cloudflare to build your website also, I would not recommend them.
Thank you very much for the great presentation to domain names. I'm looking to switch. I have many domain names with godaddy after 20 years with them, they have no customer loyalty. They use to provide free parking website builder which allow for me to put up a few information. After some gliche I called their support team. If I had not called for enquiries, they would not have disabled my free parking website builder. I feel really upset that their support team tactic is conniving and deceitful.
@TheFigco Thanks for the video, really helpful. I have a small question (Hope you reply) Can we use other hosting service with Cloudflare domain. Thanks in advance.
Really appreciate your presentation. GoDaddy just tried to shaft me because I let my domain renewal lapse due to me cancelling a debit credit card earlier in the year.
Heaven forbid you try to understand the products you purchase on the platforms you purchase them from, let alone take responsibility for not doing so. I'm sure your business is doing fantastic.
Just a quick FYI: You don't get any customer support for your domain registered with Cloudflare and you cannot set your name servers without paying extra Expensive premium memberships.
How much do prices rise in upcoming renewals? e.g. Purchase 2 yrs at $5. Renew 2 yrs at $6. and then... Renew 2 yrs at $7, $20, $75? Thanks, great content.
Thank you. Question...who are the big boys registered with? Specifically these sites, Patreon, Ticketmaster, Walmart? REVISED: taking your advice I went with cloudflare...... It would have been nice if you mentioned the upgrade charges. Yes, you pay $9 for basically a hobby potential. I'm looking to create a business that traffic's at least 50,000 respondents plus revenue. 20 Bucks a month, For as little support as possible? Are you sponsored by any of these sites?
Where you purchase your domain won't effect your ability to have high amounts of traffic to your website. Also, I don't know what you're paying $20 per month for. Are you referring to hosting or what you pay for a website builder?
@@TheFigCo 1. Thank you so much for replying, although it was three days ago I'm just now seeing this, otherwise I would have commented a lot sooner. I'm just starting a new company, and obviously I need a website. I'm located in California. Can you recommend a trustworthy service area?... where I won't get ripped off LOL
I'm not really interested in saving a few bucks a year as much as I'm concerned with security, reliability and functionality. Anybody know which one is the most secure and reliable?
I bought porkbun for carrd after following your video but I can't get my website up and running because of an error 1000 saying there's a conflict between Porkbun and Cloudflare. I am pulling my hair trying to get this resolved. Can you help?
Do you have anything else connected to your domain? Email etc? Maybe delete all the records and try again? Sometimes not all old records that you don’t need aren’t deleted so there could be a conflict.
Anyone know any where I can purchase a .jp domain and use it on Squarespace, despite me not living in Japan right now, in the future I plan on moving there and want to lock down the domain
Good question. If you're looking for a .com domain or other common international domain, you can use the websites I mentioned in this video. If you want a Kenyan domain, I think it is .ke, you might want to see which domain registrars sell .ke domains.
since time is money this comment is a waste of time since the video is already done and he is not going to change it just because you said so... you should be grateful he is actually helping people and for free...
@TheFigCo Cloudflare no longer do the same fee for renewals. now you gotta pay almost double for year 2 smh, guess they say screw us they was too considerate.
Could you PLEASE HELP ME? I am working on opening and online retail site, but I will also be doing craft fairs and such. Is Cloudflare able to accept payment from my costumers? I've tried googling and it just talks about paying for Cloudflare products. Also, for in person sales, would I be able to use my square POS, linked through Cloudflare? I'm working to get going but I'm not tech savvy and am REALLY struggling with which hosting site to use, how they accept payment, if my POS can be used, and all the other tech stuff.
Porkbuns went up three times the amount. I looked yesterday it says $36 a year after free first year .Thanks. I'm not sure if you got it last week or last year if those prices are grandfathered in for the remainder of your time or do they go up is that what any domain does?
@@TheFigCo yesterday it said that the first year was free and all transfers and renewals and everything was $36 so I don't know if it changes every day and when it changes are the other people that are already customers grandfathered in for the price they have or does it keep going up
