Is it safe to keep box in luggage bag if iPhone is in pocket or there will be risk of customs and we need to throw the box?

No issue if your phone is open. You can keep the box in luggage.

@@asthainiwasi If customs check, they'll come to know that it was purchased from Vietnam and will charge customs for it. Due to this some don't bring the box. Did customs check your bag or anything? Did you declare your iPhone?

Bro For VAT refund phone must be seal packed so can you go to airport before your departure or at the time of Vietnam domestic flights and get VAT refund?

Yes they will accept the cash. Better to use international cards like Niyo. I’ve paid using Niyo Debit card

Hi bro , i am returning to India from Vietnam for a month long home trip. My flight is at 2am from ho chi minh to Calcutta, any idea if the Vat refund store will still be operational at night? Also at custom check, did they just verify names in vat paper and passport or even checked visa type?

Hey, when you reach and pass the security check you will find VAT store inside the airport or you can ask any security guard. On the VAT desk you have to show your bill and sealed phone box and then they return the VAT amount excluding 15% tax deduction. Also don’t forget to take VAT bill from the store as many store don’t provide.

I paid 107000 Rupees in INR and get back 12k as VAT returns. Niyo don’t charge on POS transaction. Only the ATM withdrawal charges is there.

If I purchased from Ho Chi Minh but my returning flight is from Hanoi after 10 days so should I purchase from Ho Chi Minh or purchase from Hanoi? To Hanoi airport, give tax refund ?

Anyway if you want VAT refund you can't use phone because they'll see seal pack then only you're eligible. So better to purchase Hanoi. Also Ho Chinh Minh's ShopDunk store didn't give VAT paper.

Do not buy Samsung, especially the flip and fold. Samsung doesn't have International warranty. I bought a phone in Hoi chi minh city Vietnam on 15th June 2024 in the store. On 10th July, I saw a black line and later phone stopped working. There is no physical damage. Samsung customer service in India verified and It is a defective piece. Store where I purchased phone said international warranty works and I am in India now. I went to the Samsung Customer service center and they said warranty is not covered for the product here Please let me know how can we resolve this as it's not even a month I bought the phone. Attached photos of the receipt and phone. The Samsung India site shows that there is warranty but why is that everybody declining that there is no warranty for my mobile. VAT refund- FPT and Cellphone naam ke shop main bhi milta hai. Also Shop dunk main you will have to pay 3% additional charge on usage of Credit card, jo FPT main nehi lagta hai... price same hai
