This is nice but looks very much like the imported junk made out of particle board and MDF that is so common in the West. Ghana has some of the best wood and artisans in the world. What we lack is the finishing and aesthetic. I urge you to check out Tekura. None of this stuff comes close to what she produces and now she is being featured in top shelf architectural and interior design magazines. Anyway I urge you to check her out as she combines impeccable finishing and workmanship, authentic and beautiful African design and aesthetic and most importantly some of the best solid, hardwood found in Ghana.
We really do but the finishing, aesthetics and skill. I had a lot of pieces made locally for a project I worked on: it wasn't easy finding dedicated carpenters that could make the things I was looking to build and when I finally found them, the headaches and shifted timelines! There were some good carpenters but working with those meant spending a lot of money, more than we can typically afford to spend on these pieces. We honestly have so much potential but there is so much work to be done. It's an area that deserves more attention. I will check out Tekura though, thank you!
@@BuildwithAmoaa I am more interested in that project and how to collaborate with other designers and carpenters in Africa. We have to discuss about it in the coming weeks.
@Rosita Scarborough I couldn't agree more! We just really have to do the work. The best carpenter I have worked with; super talented but equally unreliable. It makes it hard to recommend them to others. If we can work on these things and our skills, it would honestly be game-changing.
The shop is lovely but sis let's talk about your dress, especially around 1:35, love love the tulle at the base and the lace in the back is such a nice touch😍 Did you have it made?
☺ The tulle base is my favourite part too and the lace actually has african print on the edges! I got it from a Ghanaian clothing brand, Saki Cole. You can check out her stuff on instagram @sakicole ❤
This girl is built by GOD’s own luxury division.. I am not easily impressed but you; you are goddess.. I know I should be focusing on the content in the video but boy..
Is this company black owned? Looks like Lebanese to me judging by who is in the video. I personally only invest in black owned made in Ghana companies.
Some of us living outside Ghana appreciate made in Ghana furniture more than China made or somewhere else. Next time feather made in Ghana to give us options to choose from.
Hi Adwoa, thank you and my bad for scaring you😢You can get a sofa here for much much lower, it's the 3 to 4 piece sets that start here. Their beds cost way less too. The pricing here is lower than some other places with lower quality pieces, so it was really helpful when I found them
